Gears of War is an award winning, bestselling science fiction video game franchise, created by Epic Games, currently developed by The Coalition, owned and published by Xbox Game Studios (previously known as Microsoft Game Studios). Would be but sadly not as much as Jinn is annoying Anya participated in the fertility program (something for the women who were barren due to imulsion). She had JD just fine but when Anya tried it a 2nd time it ended up killing her.

Well Marcus is a man who walked right into the heart of the enemies camp and set off a bomb killing the queen and her generals/personal guard and we'll get to see more of his feats in the gears prequel that's coming out it's no wonder there's both fear and respect
Might have something to do with him always succeeding where entire regiments of Gears are wiped out in mere minutes.
Out of all the members of the COG, Marcus is without a doubt the one soldier you under no circumstances want to provoke or piss off because hes probably the last of a dying breed of soldiers who has been fighting the Locust from day one. It'd be a concern if someone wasn't scared of Marcus. With the amount of shit hes seen, experienced, and done, personally I think Marcus should've been in the discussion of people to eventually lead the COG instead of Jinn who doesn't have an ounce of experience or really knows what it is exactly they're facing. Its been a while since I've played 4 and 5 so correct me if I'm wrong, but Jinn hasn't even actually left HQ to experience what its like to not be safe since just about every time she makes herself known is either through the coms or that robot with a screen for a head

Anya in the other hand, probably agree and set jinn as her replacement since Marcus wanted to have a peaceful, quiet life after the locust war

I mean, I get it. The Hammer od Dawn did just as much damage as the Locust did, and it was quite ineffective. It burned the surface of Sera, but the Locust we're underground creatures. It also fucked up the planet's climate and had a huge ecological consequence.
But still.. They need a weapon capable of destroying armies, maybe even nations. And The Hammer of Dawn is the definitive weapon.
This universes equivalent of a nuke.
You're forgetting that the Locust pushed Humanity to the brink before they deployed the Hammer of Dawn. The COG tried to fight the Locust, but cities were falling by the dozens in mere hours, millions slaughtered in just days. People forget that the ONLY option that the COG had left, the only option that bought Humanity enough time WAS the Hammer of Dawn, regardless of it's consequences.

The Gears 2 Don’s wife scene is one of the saddest video scenes ever and I never see people talk about it

My main complaint with 5 is the empty open world, the unsatisfying fights with robots and the fact that a 90 lbs girl of migraines is going toe to toe with super mutants, a feat guys the size of Marcus could barely pull off in previous stories. Did the devs say which ending is canon? As far as I'm concerned, JD dying is canon because it fits what Marcus told him in the scene before this one, namely that he should only do risky things if there are no other options. Well, at the end of Gears 5, convincing Kait to save Del instead of him was the only thing he could do to indirectly save the latter.

It took such a shit turn story wise. I would do anything to go back to the boys just cutting through the city, barely making it by the skin of their teeth just kicking ass the whole way. Baird being a smartass, Phoenix being a badass. I miss it the first 3 games man.

I'm trying my best to stay optimistic about E-Day because everything about the trailer seems to point to the Coalition finally listening to us, but if Cliff still isn't involved at least as a consultant, that's a bad sign. It might be a completely different series and genre, but not having Cliff involved in the process of a old school grim, gory, war trauma riddled Gears entry is like Hideo Kojima not being involved in a Metal Gear Solid game(just look at the train wreck that was Metal Gear Survive); the heart and soul basically not being involved is more than likely going to lead to the end product being god awful
People forget about how good Ultimate Edition is and going back they can just adapt comic/novel events.

I like this depiction of the hammer of dawn. This discussion of whether it’a worth keeping a weapon with the capability of destroying planets. I never thought too deeply about gears of war and thought of it as a very surface level story of “big man kill ugly bug” but it has a lot more interesting things to say about it the ways in which humanity conducts warfare. How many final ditch efforts and city destroying lasers will they take until they finally know an era of peace and prosperity?

Tends to be the soldiers who understand the destructive power of a weapon more than a politician sure they can look at the numbers watch video but a soldier sees it sees the enemy and the ally sometimes die because of the weapon because of this fact soldiers have more say if a weapon should be used or not. They're the ones who have to live with it

What confuses me about everything gears 4 and on, is how does someone like her exist? With gears 3 I was under the impression that very little of humabity is left amlnd whoever is left is left scavenging. She wpuld have been alive for the lambent threat right? So how did she get to be like that? And I know baird is a great engineer but how did everything get so futuristic while the old archetecture shown a wholly different archetecture?
I'm not the biggest gears of war fan, but it really feels like gears 4 and 5 have little to do with 1 through judgement.

Yes he is. The program was able to let Anya, an infertile woman, have a child. This was in the early stages which ultimately led to her and their second child’s death.
