The Troxus Lynx Cargo has one distinct feature that sets it apart from the sea of other electric cargo ebikes on the market. It's not the price, nor is it the front and rear cargo racks capable of hauling up to a claimed max payload of 500 lbs. The unique feature is the combination of both a torque sensor and a cadence sensor pedal assist system that is switchable on command. Usually an ebike either has one or the other, this is the first ebike I've seen with both a torque sensor and cadence sensor. I'm not even interested in any of the bikes as I've already got an ebike that's perfect for me, the reviews are just very very entertaining and it's nice seeing the sun and the sand considering I live in England.

It won't be as fun anymore :) I once built my first Ebike beside my 86 inch TV and all glass coffee table on the other side. My wife almost had a heart attack everytime the bike starts to fall slowly into our T.V. she'll yell at me and i'll catch it😂😂😂

Something else that is worth mentioning is that this bike is sold with a 5 year manufacturer warranty. Which is the highest of any e-bikes I've seen in this price range.

I bought a troxus explorer last year with your discount code it was a great bike for the price back then but being so limited on speed and no way to unlock it, sold it, I’m waiting for my Ecells five star should be here any day…
I have an original Troxus Lynx. It is a nice bike. I was never able to unlock the throttle only speed. I think they have it locked into the firmware of the controller.
Would love to see a 52v/1500w version of this so you could keep up with traffic on surface roads, would make a great alternative to a 49cc scooter. Plenty of room in back for a top-box to store a helmet and stuff, front rack for a basket, step-through and street tires.
i see that the chain popped off the chain holder near the pedal when you went off the curb on lincoln just before ballona creek. wonder if performance would make any difference if the chain was still on the thing… or probably not.
It looks like a great bike but sadly out of my price range. I'm currently debating between the Velotric Fold, Velotric Nomad, and Denago CIty 2. I'm also considering the Aventon Adventure 2 but it is more expensive and I'm not entirely sure if it's a better or worse deal than the others on a per dollar basis.

For me at my age and height this bike actually ticks all the boxes, the dual sensor really sells it for me. The one thing it doesn't have that I really want is long range. I guess I'm going to have to learn more about adding a second battery. Thanks as always for the review!
I have added second batteries to my four e-bikes. IMO that's fast becoming an essential mod for bikes nowadays because the useful range for "throttle-only" riders (which we all are 🙂) is 25 to 30 miles at most, and that's in ideal conditions (no hills, not too much stop and go riding).
The method for installing a second battery is pretty much the same for all e-bike models. I have been sending people to CZcamsr member "Papa Blue Shirt." He has a really helpful video on how to do an install. Search in here: "How I Installed A MONSTER Battery On My Folding Ebike: Hanevear H100 AWD Dual Battery."

My Juiced HyperScrambler has the cadence and torque setup too, but you can't choose between the two, and it starts with torque and then the cadence sensor kicks in to keep you at speed.

Price on this is just too high for what it is compared to a lot of the competition. I like it, but there are much better bikes at that price point, and there are bikes that good for noticeably cheaper. Troxus has decent bikes but it's only worth buying if that specific bike is calling to you, if you're just looking for specs and durability and features, you can find a lot of options like this for $800-1500. Granted, a lot of those other options are also in videos on this channel so I guess I'm preaching to no one here.
I would definitely like to see more tires like that on e-bikes. It's a good compromise, nearly perfect road tires and still decent offroad capability without slowing you down. Most e-bikes use offroad tires, which are louder on the road, and they make coasting a lot less effective which is a big hit to max range if you're trying to ride to optimize for it. It's only worth that sacrifice if you're doing more offroading than road riding, and let's be honest with ourselves, we aren't.

That motor is capable of at least 32mph. Don't understand why they would use a good motor and not unleash it's potential.

@@miniac60 yes, that's why you would specifically call that a road bike. the vast, vast majority of them have racks. (flying pigeon, etc.) this does not make them "cargo". a proper platform does.
@markifi I'm not convinced. I have 2 bike racks, one rated at 10kg the other at 15kg, neither even close to the 55 lb rating on only the rear of this bike. I think he said cargo weight was 550lbs(correct me if I'm wrong) none of my bikes is rated for over 375. So yeah, respectfully, this IS A CARGO bike
