ROBINSON R66 - Let's Go Flying! | Full ATC | Elstree - Denham VFR

Today we're taking a Robinson R66 helicopter from Elstree Aerodrome to HQ Aviation at Denham Airfield for its 100 hour scheduled maintenance inspection.
Our helicopter is equipped with the Garmin G500H TXi & GTN750 navigation package, however we still use SkyDemon on an iPad as its intuitive design makes it a great aid for navigation in the UK.

Very good video - nice to have the Sky Demon map too. Hadn't realised SAS would be switched on all the time; will have to find out more!

Recommend you look at the autopilot manual for HeliSAS - it has several modes and they're worth learning, like having another control.

Really nice video. Enjoyed the flight. Glad to see you made it safely, too, given the propensity of Robinson helicopters toward unexpected mast bump with resultant in-flight rotor separation, followed closely by sudden death. Makes me nervous every time I look at one, and I'd never fly in one myself.
