- HOW TO: TIE YOUR GOWN
Hey guys I hope this video helps you tie your gown. Everyone in the OR should be able to tie you when you gown up. Let em know how tight or loose you want it otherwise they will choke you lol. I like my neck part to be a little lose and the back tie to be a little tighter cause most of our gowns are XL. Most of our packs have built in XL gowns in there so it's not like I have a choice. I usually use L but I find that the sleeves are shorter. I have long arms so even though the XL is big, the sleeves are perfect. Scrubs don't really do much walking while in gowns so as long as you're not walking in like bride, you should be fine.
It is advisable to gown outside your table in case of contamination. Sometimes there is nobody to tie you up so make sure you ask someone before you scrub to check in on you. I have a separate video on how to do closed-glove technique and learning this as your first time is very difficult because yes, gowns and gloves do rip if you put a lot of force into it. Please check it our for more tips and trick on that. Some of these gowns are not made at the best quality so sometimes the card fall off and this is exactly how you fix it. Good thing it actually happened! Lol.
Just remember:
Right is to spin.
Left is to tie.
Thank you guys for watching! Please don't forget to check out other videos!

The reason for me coming to revisit this ! This exact thing happened to me in theatre !! The scrub nurse had a go at me 😂😂
nice job showing this information - I have been scrubbing since 1992. Thank You :)
As a surgical technology instructor I can point out at least 3 contamination issues. While I understand that this is for demonstration only you still need to show best practice. You should not be touching at your shoulder, you should not grab the string when it fell, and the string then touched the circulators hand. Again just keep this in mind when creating videos surgical technology students watch these videos and think this is correct when it is not and could really cause harm to a patient. Content creators need to make sure they are showing best practice at all times.
Yup ladies and gentleman…that’s how it’s done😊😂
Mam i am med student. So, is it important to wear socks in operation theatre or not??

I love your videos
The scrub is not supposed to spin. The other person is supposed to walk around the scrub.
Not true at all. If the person walks around then they'll be closer to my table.
