    Awesome collection you have. Congratutations.
    I used to own the Julio Lopez vehicle 100% complete and in perfect conditions. When you reassemble the motorcycle you have to put the forks orizontal and only at that point you can close the grips. The way you make it, bends the grips.
    I also used to own Wolfbeast again 100% (my favorite). The missiles have to be fold inside the chassis in two spots on the side.
    Both toys were purchased in England in the same shop during a three weeks student vacation when I was 12. Didn't played alot with them as I wasn't exactly a child anymore (but at that time I still liked "model" toys and I still do) and that's why they were perfect when I sold to a collector some years ago for a good amount of money.

    I really appreciate you taking the time to show these rare toys and showcasing how they work. Entropy being how it is these toys probably won't be around in a decade or two and youtube videos like these will be the only access anyone has to them. This is essentially a time capsule. Keep it up

    It's painful to see what some previous owner did to Fireforce. The handlebars of the trike are not supposed to get smushed on the seat but dropped in front of it. Mine are still good, even after all these years.

  • @sashi4440
    @sashi4440 Před 2 lety +2

    The handlebars fireforce are stored incorrectly. You're supposed to fold the front fork first before moving the handlebars in. That way they stow in front of the seat. I bought one when they came out and I still have it stored in the box.

    Get you some 100 percent silicone spray and lightly spray your hinges and ruber. There might be a automotive product that will rehydrate the rubber that you could buy and spray onto a towel and apply to save the rubber on the tires. I know the silicone won't attract dust and dirt like oils or wd40. Great video

    I loved MASK as a kid and very fondly remember owning a handful of toys from series 1-3, but this video brought back a memory that I completely forgot about, which is that I definitely had Dynamo as a kid as well. The orange guns that kind of looked like penises opened the floodgates in my mind! I was into MASK for the entire run, but I’d forgotten all about Dynamo

  • @dudemcmann6936
    @dudemcmann6936 Před rokem +1

    M.A.S.K. was easily my #1 favorite cartoon and toy line as a kid in 1985-86 during the first two runs. It had a sophisticated appeal to kids getting closer to their pre-teen years that Transformers, He-man & G.I. Joe lacked. Unfortunately they took a sharp 180 turn during the second season of the cartoon and the silly racing series toyline that coincided with it. It was immediately & painfully obvious (even to a 10-year old) that the second season served no other purpose than to sell more toys. It lacked the little nuances the first year had to avoid insulting our intelligence by oversimplifying the stories and making VENOM less of a threat.
    On top of that, the toys started being less & less detailed and more & more outlandish to the point where it became too hard to suspend disbelief enough to imagine how these contraptions could actually ever work in real life. That was magnified x100 with the split seconds series which, I believe, spelled death to the M.A.S.K. toys. One of the great mysteries of my life is understanding why they wanted to make this amazingly engineered toy line more juvenile as the target audience became older.

  • @lareh5501

    I first found out about these around 2012 too. I was exploring local collector shops where I was at and saw a complete in box afterburner for over $120 and was like, "no way!" 😳😱 (Both in amazement that there was an entire additional line, and also in an I'm not willing to pay that price).
    I thought I had nearly every release as a kid, so finding out about these, and thinking how they seemed like a follow-on to the vandal (which I think was the last M.A.S.K. vehicle I got as a kid), and then finding out about the euro decos, and then the Argentina ones.
    Oddly enough, a month or so ago, I got a FandF vehicle/figure set that scales well with M.A.S.K. for ~$10 bucks and then when target was doing the $25 off $100 toy purchase, I picked up a few extra copies. The vehicle has the M.A.S.K. type gimmicks too, with 3 buttons to push that do different things. Truly a pleasant surprise.

    • @Rocket1377
      @Rocket1377 Před 9 měsíci

      Depends on the situation. Pursuing a criminal through city streets would be far easier with a ground vehicle than a jet. M.A.S.K. was not an army, and their vehicles were designed to be adaptable to the task at hand. A jet that can turn into a car (and vice versa) is far more useful than just a regular jet.

    The Split Seconds line was definitely a signal to the 90's criticism of toys with guns. For some reason I had all of these. Got the yellow bike Barracuda from Sears catalog. I remember going to pick it up at their storeroom area. Which also had two arcade machines, one was the game with an ape that had a football helmet power up, I'll never remember the name.🤦‍♂️

    Nice collection! I think I have one or two Split Seconds.

  • @Benjamin0119
    @Benjamin0119 Před 2 lety +2

    I still think these Split Seconds vehicles are ugly and poorly designed. I don't know how the Buzzard car that split in three could be so good, but these are so bad. Then again the Meteor and Slingshot were also splitting vehicles that were pretty bad. Maybe Buzzard is the outlier and exception.
    It doesn't help that transforming them is such a process and they seem so much more fragile than the previous vehicles.
    I'm also very annoyed that the awesome Corvette Stingray got wasted on that blob, not to mention the Countach! It also adds insult to injury that Gloria Baker finally got made with this vehicle, but not the Shark.
    The figure costumes were worse too.
    I don't know why we couldn't have gotten more of the traditional types of vehicles instead of these things, or just end it with the racing series.
    So yeah, I never wanted to collect these even after I found out about them, and I wouldn't even if they were cheap. It is good to see them all here at once though, just for historical purposes and whatnot. So I appreciate that.
    Wait somebody made a Shark?! Is it better than that 3D printed one, or it's that same one?

      @@tydiriumhanger1320 What if there was a crossover between MASK and Transformers?
      The Transformers could be a combination of the 1:24 Alternators, and the Omnibots (those G1 post away ones which transformed from normal vehicles to attack vehicles to robot modes).
      Optimus Prime could come with Matt Trakker and Sparkplug Whitwicky. He could transform from truck, to a Rhino-style battletruck mode to the classic robot mode.

    • @Rocket1377

      Agreed, and one of the biggest problems was that there was nowhere to store the translucent hologram figures. In the first three series of toys, almost every vehicle had a passenger seat in their disguised modes, but not in Split Seconds. So that second figure frequently got lost.
