He was incredible. I wish he was still with us.
I served in Viet Nam this was the National Anthem I recognize
Thank you for serving
yo ( as we say in Philadelphia) ..thank you man .....
Thanks for your service
Tell me how much did the army screw you up?
It's the best. He made a statement. I'm Canadian and I'm so sorry how your country & government treated you Vietnam vets when yous returned. Yous are recognized highly for your service and are thanked.
I love how he said "stand up man for one in your life!"
Brandon Stevens me too! 😱😭
relevent
I love how he makes his guitar say " big deal" @ 3:03
Its not a random delivery, he is throwin various references to the horrors of the vietnam war. Far from psychedelic noises. Hendrix was so ahead of his time
sounds like trash to me
+Torr fjärt it's the truth
+Tall Midgit no, you being a failed abortion is the truth
+Torr fjärt lol the humor is unreal
everyone seems to miss the part right at the end, before "land of the free and the home of the brave" he plays "taps" which is the song played at the funerals of soldiers and every night on us military bases in honor of the fallen. as well as condemning the war, he payed respect to those that were forced to fight it
I was there! Not often I can say, I WAS THERE!!!
Will you turn that disrespectful junk off!
Respect the classics man! Its Hendrix!
Bbtashae ka chow
I understood that reference...
The fact that Jimi Hendrix even exists in the Cars universe still blows my mind.
@@jonnycarcano though in this case he's Jimi hendrift
Getting those goosebumps again!
Genius!!
Nothing will ever top his performance of this at Woodstock. With the sounds of the Vietnam war going on, his delivery was the the best ever that day!
Dr Death totally inspired!
Dr Death so FUCKING true if this don't make you put your hand over your damn heart then your not American
My fav was the Atlanta pop one
And today.
IT's good, for sure, but there are at least 21 live performances he did and all of them are just as good, each if them is different, and each powerful in its own way.
jimi Hendrix....my personal favorite of all the guitarists in my life... such talent and skills. He had to take his own original Style to turn his music into phenomenal sounds that had lasted for lifetimes
This will be played at my funeral
Looks like you want people to laugh at you at your funeral. :'D
Same, and I'm Irish!
"In that moment, I glimpse what a free mind can accomplish. What this world has turned it's back on."

Sarge: Will you turn that disrespectful junk off?!
Fillmore: Respect the classics, man! It's Hendrix!
Don't get me wrong but he himself couldn't top the Woodstock performance man that was the best I ever heard it done ,that Woodstock performance was the best ever star spangled banner version that was done by hendrix
Respect the classics man
THAT WAS FUCKING INCREDIBLE.
He is still has the magic touch
Man, I never really got into Jimi Hendrix tell I read a manga about His ghost possessing a school teacher and turning her into a rock legend. ( No joke this is real)
Lol I gotta see this
What's the name of the manga?
@@hafizo_kurosaki Shiori Experience

After that show he came to San Antonio in May of 70 the same time I left for the Marine Corps........ "I was so much older then, but younger than that now" (Quote from the Byrds)
Good luck this season!
"I was so much older then, but younger than that now" Bob Dylan if you please.
thank you jimmy
I lived down the road. Major event. Jimi is the best
Toni Iomi heard the opening riff, and wrote Iron Man - he took Hendrix’s scraps and wrote a huge hit. That’s how great Hendrix was….his scraps brought you fame and fortune
Love this. 😱
LEGEND!!
Love this. Thank you
This was used excellently in Spec Ops The Line
Oh jeez, he died after this, same year.

Spec Ops: The line brought me here

"Men like us do what's necessary, and then we die."
To hell with video games.. this is Hendrix, man!

Joe the sniper. RIP.
It's "Somewhere" from People, Hell And Angels
Just the tone and power is better than shred exercises from noodlers.
Who's every grandpa in the back ground booing. I hate all of his offspring
Do you feel like a hero walker?
What does he say before the song starts? Kind of sounds like he's spelling out something....

What is the first song at the end?
song at 3:25? or just random?
Who the fuck was in the crowd booing
+Lou Skannon yea w
ho was booing
I guess they were booing cause 'Nam was an unpopular war and the guy booing probably thought Jimi supported it by playing this
Lou Skannon wondering the same thing. 💔
Lou Skannon some one who is now dead
Why does youngsters listen to crap theese days? Cause theve forgotten about real music. Hendrix is real music
skylineXpert Good music is always good music
I'm still relatively young. I was raised on great music, ranging from the 50's to the 80's.

Rivals Woodstock
Not as good as the Woodstock version. Heard some boos in the crowd. A hippie playing to hippies. Strange days indeed. 🙏🇺🇸✝️
phil collins
0:55 Boo hiss??
Half of the music is just NOISE!!! LMAO...
Cyrano De Bergerac Well, music is just wiggly air.
In all seriousness, the historical context of a performance like this is very relevant. The “noise” as you put it is meant to imitate the bombs being dropped on Vietnam, followed commonly by high pitched screaming. For a better version of this check out the one from Woodstock 69.
It's an enigmatic masterpiece only real souls can understand...
@@tanaziolopez1936 nah, prefiero escuchar a Steve Vai. Es 10000 veces mejor que este tipo
