- To be able to meet and talk to the Godfather of Freestyle, Bob Haro, was surreal. Bernie and I grew up looking at his photos and drawings in BMX Action Magazine and cutting them out to put in our folders for school. We bought his number plates and stickers, and thought he was just one of the coolest cats out there in the BMX scene, being so young and so successful. Bob is still doing what he loves today and it was a pleasure to get to chat with him at DirtyFest. We hope you enjoy this as much as we did! When the interview was done, we couldnʻt stop smiling! I own 2 HARO bikes now @ 50 year's old. As a kid I always wanted a haro but my parent's couldn't afford 1. I worked doing odd jobs as a kid but seemed to never be able to save up for a haro. I was lucky enough to have a few new bikes & my 1984 schwinn predator was my most expensive NEW BMX i ever had. Its funny i still own it today! I never DISTROYED it & took very good care of it. But Bob is 1 of my top 3 favorites! God bless 🙌 🙏
