Meg is easily one of my favourite musicians. There is something tribal to a simplistic big beat. I'm a guitarist but Meg's drumming style really speaks to me on a fundamental level.
Yeah, people say she’s a horrible drummer just because of how simple some of her beats are, but simple doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s about how effective it is entirely to the song.
I don't mind the simplistic beats, but I wish she would use the cymbals a lot less. They smother everything at times.
Her backbeat is nuts. That snare kicks your booty.

When I first heard this song on MTV in 2005, I was blown away.
I worked as a PA on this video. Randomly ended up smoking a cigarette with Meg, just the two of us. We chatted for a while, she was lovely, sweet, shy, and all dolled up in her costume. It was a great moment.

I have these memories of seeing this video on MTV frequently when I was super young, when MTV was still about music. always my favorite
So innocent & nieve lol. MTV is about youth pop culture & targeted marketing, it was never just about music. It's primary function was & still is to sell products aimed at the young people who watch it by advertising between videos/shows they like to watch. As pop culture changes so does the content, so do the adverts. If the advertising stops paying because they're no longer on trend MTV will disappear.

I recommend Pixies first two albums "Surfer Rosa" and "Doolittle." Doolittle is the better of the two, but both are raw rock.

I really like this video since it seems to play with speed. It seems like a stop-motion at parts which is something like a short film that I'm going to make made out of images instead of video. It gives it a certain vibe which is freaky!

Floria Sigismondi is a Canadian based artist who did very dark videos for David Bowie, Marilyn Manson in the 90s and then worked as a movie director in The Runaways.
this video is iconic, I remember it blew my mind when it came out. Floria Sigismondi is a brilliant director.
I wish I could have been on set witnessing the team that created this. The art is beautiful. I remember watching this on mtv back when I had dial-up. I literally got a digital camera for my birthday and video taped this so I could rewatch it.
