She's actually the perfect pitch in her time. She has the most powerful voice in her reign. She sets standards whenever she sing a song. That's why she's the Queen.
I don't think so. The only person that's actually proven to have perfect pitch is Leah . Regine is relative pitch .
The world really missed out on Regine. It makes you wonder though how many more Regines are out there in different parts of the world who deserve the world stage but never got the opportunity because they are from a developing or a smaller less popular country. But Regine really deserves global recognition. Her talent needs to be enjoyed by the whole world.

Regine was never for the global market unless we're talking about the 80s the time of Whitney Houston. Global music has moved on from the 80s. It's important to be a singer-songwriter type like Taylor Swift globally, or a singer with dance routines. No one singing ballads has succeeded nowadays. In the US, the popular foreign performers are KPop singers and bands. Americans like fun or angry music. Be happy that she succeeded in the Philippines.
She is the Mariah Carey of the Philippines and Lani Misalucha is the Whitney Houston of the Philippines. Lani style and voice i guess is more acceptable in the US than of Regine's Philippine style of birit birit and more birit.

Regine Velasquez is really the Queen...'Queen' of many voices--she can sing low, can sing in high pitch, like 'birit' style up to the roof and, sometimes so melodious. And, when she emcees, she can really be 'funny', laughing out loud.🤗😂😘

But the first to sing and record the song was Piolo Pascual (the guy in the audience)
Gary V also had a version of this but the most famous among was of course Regine’s Version.
She finally recorded it recently for a Filipino tv series.
Pia Toscano an american idol contestant also recorded the version of Regine.

Gary V also released the song the same year for his Album, At The Movies in March 2003. That’s why during the 2003 AWIT Awards, it was Piolo who got the nominations for Best Performance by a Male Recording Artist, Best Pop Recording and Song of the Year for Kailangan Kita.

Yup...you should really invite the 'Queen' to your podcast. Regine Velasquez is now becoming a legendary artist in the likes of Gary V., Martin N., Jaya, to name a few...these multi-talented artists have 3-4 decades of successful experiences in the concert stage, recordings and shows both locally and internationally.
Mind you, she was having a bad migraine the whole concert but still sounded and looked so perfect!!

This was from the same concert where she and martin did the broadway musical medley. This shows how not only really good she sings but how much stamina she has! Imagine singing song after song of this difficulty in a 2-hour concert.

If you could only understand the lyrics, she is actually telling you a story. She is soooo good at it.

That concert was in 2003 (18 years ago), Regine was early 30s (31-32) during that concert.
The composer of the song is Ogie Alcasid, Regine’s husband. Ogie composed a lot of beautiful OPM Songs. Kailangan Kita is sang by Piolo Pascual, which happen to be Iñigo’s dad. Kailangan Kita is the themesong of a popular Filipino movie with the same title. Gary V is the original interpreter of Kailangan Kita

One thing that makes the Hispanic songs and Filipino songs similar is the soulfulness of the music. It conveys emotions / feelings. I wish my great grandparents were still alive when I was born, that way I would learn how to speak spanish.

Regine is really a great singer even in her younger days,her voice is unbeatable,well even today. She's huge in Asia and has sold more than a million I think or half a million Albums in Asia and more than 7 million in the Philippines. She was offered international careers but they said that she should deny her being Filipina/Asian. Also, because of being huge in Asia,she tours every now and then and she even missed her meals. Her mother would just bring with them rice cakes and other delicacies so that she could eat. There's even an instance wherein she didn't even know that she had gone to Malaysia already,until she sees it in her passport. She have sang also with many different international artists like Brian McKnight,Paul Anka, Stephen Bishop,Rick Price Alicia Keys,Peabo Bryson, Maestro Michel Legrand and many more.
