I’ve always love the Z4 E89. I think she’s one of the most beautiful roadster in decades. But when it first came out, timing was not right for me. At the same time, my elder&wealthy sister was looking for a fun car. So I told her to get a Z4. She did. Deep down, I also hope that she’d get bored in 4-5 years and by that time I’d be ready to buy from her at a deeply depreciated price (a.k.a. poverty-stricken little brother price) Well, my evil planned didn’t work, she never had a plan to sell hers. Then 7-8 years ago, the time has come. So I kept waiting for new generation Z4 to come out and I would buy it as soon as they’re launch. As it turns out. New Z4 has no hard top!!! And where I live, I really preferred hard top. So I went looking at an Audi TT coupe instead but didn’t like it that much (the dealer in my country kept the options to a bare minimum to keep the sticker price down, no customs configuration available) and rumor was a new TT would be coming out soon (never did). Out of the blue, I found a mint conditions, super low mileage, kept in garage, special color, all original E89. I bought her on the spot. And she’s been with me 5+years since. Still think it’s one of the best looking car to this days. I’m so glad I went back to E89. BTW, My sister still hold on to her E89. So we’re the E89-driven siblings 😂
You can clearly see the E89 relationship in styling to the beautiful BMW 507 I am sure it will be a future classic… not the same value but popular regardless.

We have a 2014 Z4 s drive 2.0i in pearlescent white. Not sure if it’s something to do with it bring pearlescent but there not one chip on the paintwork. Had the car since 2018. It’s only done 28,000 miles. It looks as good as new. Always liked aspects of the design particularly the rear three quarter panel area. The shape has matured & improved, meaning it’s going to be a potential classic. It has been helped by the current Z4 in my view being a poor design by contrast.
Hey Mika, thank you for your comment! That pearlescent white is stunning color! I agree with you it will be a future classic. Even though I now the design is from 2009, it looks like this gen was developed recently.🙂 I am not a big fan of the current gen Z4 either. I just doesn't give enough emotion and connection like the E89 does. Enjoy your Z4! These 2.0's with ZF8 speed drive great!😁
Ik ben ook al langer een groo fan van de E89 Z4, en bezit zelf eentje van maart 2016, zwart-metallic met rood leer, m-sport uitvoering. Ik zou ook erg geinteresseerd zijn in deelname aan zulke mooie ritjes.
Even aanmelden bij Z3 Z4 forum, zowat jaarlijks een Tour rit met start en eindpunt in Zuid Limburg en dat is serieus een aanrader. Leuk om andere eigenaren te ontmoeten én om een dagje lekker te sturen!
Hmmm, ziet er allemaal vrij herkenbaar uit... Na preventief onderhoud aan de distributieketting en kleppendeksel denk ik dat ik mijn Z4 (28i M-sport met handbak en zonder iDrive) nog vele jaren met met veel plezier kan blijven rijden...

@@zlover7777 They are especially the early 3.0 I was teasing I am biased though I just picked up a mint 2007 E86 and love it....I admit the E89 interior is much better looking in the two tone I have the grey outside and black interior
Seems like the E89 is the favorite sweet spot.

Yes, in 2021 my dad sold mostly E89's. Only a few Z3's and E85 Z4's.
