Hi hi! In this video, I'm unboxing my new 2020 M1 MacBook Air for use in 2023. I have been out of a laptop for over a year and I've been saving to get one. I finally decided on the 2020 MacBook Air M1 after tons of research. I saw it on sale and told myself that I couldn't miss out. I plan to update you all on how well it holds up at the end of the year. Please watch in HD. Oh, and I apologise for all the little grammatical errors I made in the captions :c

Hey, could you pls say which macOS version was on the board when you unboxed it? I'm so confused because yesterday I got my brand new Macbook Air m1 2020 and surprisingly I found it runs macOS Ventura which was released in 2022.

@@bmloveofficial thank you for the response! I was really worried thinking of this thing, I even found a record in a journal about this installation. So it looks like resellers do this, then somehow they pack our macs in its factory film again (because mine was looking like it was never open) - and send it to us.
btw, where did you buy it? I got my macbook from Istanbul, Turkey, and it's an official reseller.

I have had mine for one week already and so far so good. Everything runs great. If you are deciding between space grey or silver choose silver!!! you won't regret it
I got my MacBook Air m1 base configuration on Januari 4th 2023. I'm very happy and it works great!!! I bought it for school. first MacBook I have ever owned and I love it!😁

I do have a little bit older one that I gotten in the fall of 2018. I gotten a 13 inch screen one in silver grey. It is still looks good. I have a little issue with it and I think it is the battery or something. It still works. When I unplugged it and it goes off.

Great pick up! I bought one of these when they originally came out. Base model with the M1 is plenty for most users. I use an SSD for more storage and it has been a great setup overall :)

Usually nothing. My niece got a few of them, but otherwise I don’t even take the stickers out the of paperwork folder. :P
I love them. I’ve had MacBooks (and iMacs and iPad) for over a decade now, and they’re hands down the best laptops I’ve used. :)

I just bought my first MacBook and I’m so excited 🥹 I went for the 14 inch Pro M2 version but it was super close between the air I only went for the pro because the difference was about 200 bucks for the nicer screen and extra thunderbolt port plus an sd card slot but it wasn’t an easy choice, after I put the ram and memory I wanted the price was very similar that I just rounded up and got the pro but I do think the air is an incredible choice I was very very close to getting one 🥹 it comes into tomorrow! 🥳
I just bought my first MacBook. I chose the 2020 MacBook Air with M1 chip. I already have a 16" Asus Chromebook which I use 24/7. I'm a former Windows user but after getting something that zapped all my files I went with tablets for a year then came upon the Chromebook and decided on those due to the security of it. I actually should have gone to a MacBook then but I thought they had problems like Windows. Nowadays I've invested in a VPN and some antivirus and secure internet software. Looking forward to my first MacBook at 76 years old. Something new to learn!

I think that is a great purchase honestly, the M1 Macbook Air machine is really a lot more capable than it's given credit for as like the majority of people just need a machine that works well in an environment they can understand and the Macbook Air does that insanely well.
A VPN is always a good idea and a secure connection goes a long way to security, doesn't hurt to be cautious. I agree with that.
This laptop can still do a lot in 2023

If you’re coming from a Windows laptop the first thing I did all those years ago is turn on Tap to Click for the touchpad. It’s turned off by default for whatever reason. I basically turn it on even when I test a MacBook in store, it drives me crazy to misclick bc I do a mixture of taps and clicks. Apple trackpads are the best though, super smooth and responsive.

You don’t even need to read the paperwork. There is explanation of how to use your Mac in system preferences. On MacOS Ventura, it’s called System Settings, but it has the same functionality as before. There’s a section at the end of the scrolling bar called “Trackpad” in which MacOS will show you how to use it depending on you set your trackpad up. The ports are literally USB-C and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Everyone knows what those are. Reading those paperworks is a waste of time. You will learn and discover new features as you are using it anyway.

Macs are just really fancy laptops otherwise after some time with your laptop Apple will discontinue support and it’s really frustrating, you’ll have to unload lots and lots of hard earned money just to buy the next newer model Apple Laptop to make your most used Apps run again 😢😢
@Medicine Man so happens I am running a Ventura on my 2012 as well but it has a lot of bugs like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi problems, if your used to running your apps flawlessly you’ll get frustrated with it very easily and maybe might as well hope for getting back to a windows laptop again, but anyways as u have said you’ll get a good 7years of support on your laptop might as well enjoy it 👍

I open the lid from the sides with my fingers, not from the usual webcam spot. Arthur Winer made a video on the small mistakes that damage one's MacBook over time. It has been a month since I got mine and I still haven't touched or used the webcam yet.

Как оказалось - весьма актуальная информация! Я вот свой вчера купил, а он пришёл уже сразу на Ventura, которая, как известно, выпущена в 2022 году! И вот теперь ломаю голову - мне продали юзаный товар или дилеры сами обновляют маки? И смотрю, вроде на этом видео девушка тоже получила сразу обновлённую версию - Monterrey (2021 выпуск), которая тоже вышла позднее, чем был выпущен мак.
