- There's lots of plants that are great to use for a chameleon but the pothos plant is my all-time favorite plant to use because of how easy it is to find, it's great for climbing, provides coverage, is safe to eat, etc.

Great video, I love Pothos , you can grow it on the cage sides and background like an epiphyte and when growing the Pothos drapes over like living “ climbing ropes” and a great filler once big enough as a plant centerpiece, one of My other favorites are Ficus Benjamina trees.
Yes exactly! Such a versatile plant 🌱
Excellent content 👍
Thank you 🤗
Thanks Neptune for the advice now I know which plant s to get in th e uk😀😀
Happy to help :)
Luna was looking extra cute in this vid haha
I thought so too 😍
Pothos are not toxic to any reptiles. And if you guve them a lot of water and full spectrum light the vines get super thick even 3/4" thick and the leaves can get enormous like football size
Yesss! All great reasons why they’re my favorite 🌱
I’m getting new chameleons because my last one past from falling and lack of fulieage I’ve been watching all your vid and know lots now and am ready to try again I’m ordering from a reliable breaded my last ones I got from pet I dident know much but now I do thinks for your help and posting interesting helping videos on chameleons
Happy to help!
I have 2 big chunky dense pothos that i cycle out with my other plants. I've been using a hibiscus because of the sturdy branches (my boy is a little hefty 😂) and I also like umbrella trees whenever he's done too much landscaping on the hibiscus and it needs a break 😵💫😂
All great options!
I love pothos but I can't keep them alive if they're up top near the lights. I've had 3 die in the last year. I currently have my girl set up bioactive and have one planted in the substrate and it's doing great so far. The ficus tree is doing the best and I keep having to trimming it back.
You look like poison ivy from batman😍
Wtf? I know poison ivy is hot but still bro or sis
Hot hot hot
What is the big plant in the cage on your right - it has big leaves at the end of the stem! (or could you make a video on all the plants you use?) Love your videos my chameleon is living an amazing life all because of you! THANK YOU KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
That's a monstera! You can check out my plant video playlist here which is full of recommendations: czcams.com/play/PLBkCuo7YecLYwbnOjyIfeeHhCOELeP32M.html
Thank you for asking, i was looking for that myself.
I love pothos as well, and my second favorite plant is a money tree. I also just bought a red nerve plant I'm hoping to use, but I'm not sure if people commonly use them with veiled chameleons. I wasn't sure if you knew if they were safe or not for a chameleon to munch on?
I haven't used a nerve plant before but you can definitely look on chameleonforums.com to see if anyone else has!
are Hosta plants safe? I put one in because I heard they were safe, but I wasn't too sure.
My Chameleon likes Ferns. He eats it even after I've already fed him.
Chameleons eat plants to help with digestion so it makes sense he ate it after you fed him bugs :)
I have a larger pothos in my veiled chameleons enclosure and he loves snacking on it. I wish it was higher up and was wondering how to put your up?
Here’s my video on how to do that: czcams.com/video/tG8iVn8tT9w/video.html
can you put string of banannas in the enclosure?
I've found mixed information on using lucky bamboo for chameleon enclosures. Some say it's fine since it's a dracaena others claim its toxic. Any advice?
Bamboo is usually considered slippery for chameleons to climb and therefore is not recommended.
I’m trying to build a native Setup as possible do you know if the Madagascar jewel tree is safe for chameleons ? The research I’ve done says it toxic to pets but doesn’t mean it’s toxic for chameleons. I figured it’s not since it’s native to northern Madagascar just like the panther. Do you have any info ?
I'm not familiar with that plant but you can try looking it up on chameleonforums.com and see if anyone else has experience with it.
Hi I’m sure you’ve mentioned this in one of your videos, but where did you buy your cage and stand? I can’t find a big enough one on Amazon
No worries. You’ll find all of my shopping lists and discounts here: linktr.ee/neptunethechameleon. Let me know if you need help finding anything specific.
do u have any recommendations of what type of soil to use for the pothos plant?
I recommend organic potting soil! czcams.com/video/7uWdIFxBfrk/video.htmlsi=1M7_nTz1AhtuVfgh
@@NeptunetheChameleon Also what dual plant light and UVB fixture do u use, sorry i just have alot of questions. Im just trying to gather alot of information and you’re really helping loads!!
@@Kadson3465 My plant LED and UVB are two separate fixtures and bulbs. You can find everything I use in my shopping lists: www.neptunethechameleon.com/shopping-lists & czcams.com/video/-5SPlIg6_jY/video.html
I bought a 4 pack of assorted pothos plants on Amazon and wanted to use the zip tie method you use but don't have any extra pots any alternatives like Styrofoam cups or solo cups not sure if they are good options but if not then I can just order some
Hmm I don't think styrofoam or solo cups would support the weight of the plants.
@NeptunetheChameleon they are 4 in planters I was just curious no worries I will just order some thank you though 😊
can i just use wooden sticks in the corners to be the anchor points for the branches?
That’s what I do! Here’s a tutorial video: czcams.com/video/vMiNLblJ5vU/video.htmlsi=u171ozSVGlbVcBP1
but where can i get birch tree branches from
Quick question how do you attach the plants to the side of the enclosure like you do??

Hi I got a Jackson chameleon about 3 days and I have been feeding him crickets but he won't eat them so I tried to cup feed but that didn't work. is there something you can suggest?
I'd watch this video: czcams.com/video/waCeIkQE1hw/video.html & this one: czcams.com/video/2IESxfzFnmc/video.html
Ok thx
Ill buy a chameleon from you in the future
Fingers crossed I’ll have eggs in a couple months and can open up a waitlist!
Are Sansevierias and Ficus okay for chameleons?
Ficus is okay! But I'm not familiar with what a Sansevierias is...
Are fittonia plants safe?
Yup!
Question! I’ve seen that pothos and monsteras are okay, but philodendron are not. I’m a plant guy, and the toxin (calcium oxalate) is in all 3. Do you think philodendrons are then safe to use?
I use philodendrons all of the time! They're a great plant to use.
@@NeptunetheChameleon gosh! Thank you!!
Long time follower u have reviewed several of our enclosures I need help I have a very sick chameleon that I’ve taken to two different vets $600 later three weeks later almost a month and he is still the same I wish there was a way I could talk to u instead of through CZcams comments help lucky needs some help maybe u have an idea of whats goin on w him

I have a jungle dawn linear light. can I have more?
Sweet! Have more of what?
Can I add another plant light
My chameleon keeps eating my pothos plant 🪴 that is in his enclosure
That’s common for some chams which is why it’s important we use live plants :)
@@NeptunetheChameleon it is a live plant 🪴 so at least he is ok 👍 what is your opinion on moss vines
My poor potho plant 🪴 is so eaten up from my chameleon
It's a popular choice!
