Kristin, I always enjoy your meditations but for some reason these ones today really touched me. So wonderful. I always wondered and felt bad about like how I don't actually "observe" or do anything for Memorial Day. Well, this allowed me to remember and pray for these soldiers and their families. I love how you really connected them to the joyful mysteries. So beautiful and extra peaceful. And Brian! Amazing. I love this. Thank you! What a special mission/way to promote praying for the poor souls. I love it. Thank you both, love to you all in the community. I can feel your prayers!

Love your point Brian and Kim Fr. Ryan's mom.... we do need to take responsibility for our parishes! And one pastor we used to have said... Jesus never turned a dinner invitation and neither do we! He was being funny but also serious. Our pastor now, Fr. Tim, said he wouldn't change anything for 6 months to a year, just observe what we do/how we do things. He has encouraged us to get innvolved... if we see a need or have an idea... we can tell or him or ask him... but then he says you do it! Find a friend or two to help, even it if you can do it on your own, find a younger person to ensure the ministry can continue, and then find a high schooler or middle schooler to help in some small way or observe! I love that idea. I had a ton of trouble feeling welcome in my parish when we moved and joined almost 5 years ago. So I am trying to think of a way I can welcome people. It took me a long time, but now I am lectoring and an Eucharistic minister again (was at my home parish but had to get readjusted after moving to a new parish and having children with me at Mass etc.) that's not for everyone... but everyone can use their gifts in whatever way God calls them, or start with whatever they are comfortable with, ask Holy Spirit what is needed like they said... and branch out from there!
