He absolutely did make a mistake. Watch literally any other video of them playing this song and he doesn't stop playing in that section (and you can hear that he doesn't stop playing in the studio version). Not a big deal that he made a mistake because he just recovered and kept playing. Amazing players fuck up from time to time.
@@mson925 I agree, I do know the have been known to smoke… but I was just making somewhat of a joke, obviously they are extremely talented and practiced.
Yes, both bands had their first records in 2013 however CHON already had their signature math rock sound, while polyphia was more inspired by melodic progressive metal. And changed their sound over time
I think its the 2nd position bridge/middle, but you can achieve that smooth mellow sound by rolling off the tone knob even on the bridge if you wanted to.
The MAR10 has a 5 way blade and he's in position 2 in the beginning and I think for Erick's solo he might switch the position while he's doing the swells. The bridge PUP is pretty hot in the Mar10 and the tone is more aggressive than this. I think he mostly uses it for their older stuff.
Because it's not programed. While the dudes in polyphia are extremely talented, they "digitally manipulate" their live and studio performances. No adulturation here.
Ok so I started with these 3 note chords, I am SUPER bad at theory but songs like Rosewood and Bubble dream (both by them) are what I started with. Just play all jazzy with string skipping and sharp tones😅
i dont think you can have a better duo than this two
tim henson and scott lepage
@@KirkVz hell nah
Tim and Scott
Seriously? Tosin and Javier ringing any bells?
@@nicholaspontillo5554 Even they're not as good and clean as these two
This is cleaner than my room
Man I miss Chon
Erick did not forget his part at all. That is the same as the studio. Compare the two. These two don’t just forget their parts.
Just checked Studio version. Can confirm it sounds like a mistake there too, exactly the same lol
@@Xirrious it's intentional. Musical joke, it totally catches you off guard if you don't expect it!

@@Kwert True even Tosin Abasi. I once saw Tosin did a big one, he recovered, laughed and continued playing.
@@Kwert ur right. he did make a mistake I just heard the studio version rn and u could hear both guitars thru the whole thing

This is sick ! 🔥
were they Ahead from Polyphia in playing math rock instrumentals like this?

@@robertcuff5704 i think chon's first ep is from 2008
how is he playing this on his bridge pickup? that sounds way too smooth and mellow.

@Meme loaf not 10, reducing it but not necessarily 0 somewhere in the middle
More bass and mid maybe? Lol
its second position and besides their matchless amps make anything sound godly
3:01 ops!
Wow nice close up

Can anyone recognize the pedals Mario used?

Pretty sick solo, I agree :)
It fits badly in a great way if you catch my drift
i appreciate chon more than polyphia. both are great. but i prefer chon. i dont know why 🤣

Chon has always been better
polyphia’s music is mad boring.
This comment section just brings me joy. This is just honest and real. I love the fans of CHON. Such an amazing and welcoming community.
what chords are they playing guys? Lol where do I start if I wanna learn writing noob version of CHON's songs?
