I saw Bhoota kola for the first time in 2012 at my daughter's school annual day function. At that time I thought it was a prominent folk dance like Yakshagana, only after watching Kantara I realised how important and a powerful ritual it is.

I come from a village of south Odisha. We also have similar traditions of our Kula Devata which we call as Demudu Sambaram. Not exactly the same but there are similarities.

Watching this after Kantara. I am basically from a Kannadiga family but live in south Tamil Nadu. My ancestors were moved long back from Dakshin Kannada during the TippuSultan period. We are speaking Kannada here but sadly we missed doing any of these rituals here. But whenever I see our Kannadiga rituals & culture, my mind and body automatically get some divine energy and that's the bond we still have with Karnataka & its culture. I badly want to experience this divine feeling. Hope it will happen soon.
Literally ancient to morden time due to South our Hinduism still exists.. it's better truth that north indian r so called morden & open secular that they can't protect our Hinduism..some time we need to keep secrecy from foreigners to our small small traditions.. expl - due to dravidians are slightly conservative they protected ancient temples ,traditions & look at odisha Jagannath temple they keep it well.. but I'm too much concerned abt Kerela , WB & Asaam..

@@arijitroy7253 Varaha Avatar is different, Panjurli is described as Varaha because the form is same (wild bore). Panjurli and Guliga is related to Shiva in some stories. But real origin is unknown since there no scriptures to this. To get knowledge about this we should listen paddana where in story of this devine is explained. Avatar is different and Demi Gods are different. In conclusion I would say all scriptures Stories etc. is giving clues to humanity that we can live blissfully if we see the life as it is..
