Great video, what kind of age might you suggest for a border terriers first strip, we have a 9 month old border with the most unruly hair style ! I think he struggles a little with the heat so I’m thinking a bit of a thin out might help him out

Do not card your Border Terrier and strip out the undercoat. It actually keeps the dog cooler when it is hot weather. You only want to remove the blown dead hair which is pushed when the new coat is coming through, In the US your show dogs are not to standard it should have a double coat. In the US your ruin the breed by showing it stripped out of the double under coat. Not the fit for function dog that this terrier breed is. It has a double coat and in the show ring should peel the coat to observe the double under coat. This video gets a NO NO NO

Border fanatic & multiple owner, he is just about right age to be stripped, go steady upon first strip as it's new to them x
