  • Part 2 in the mini series documenting Blue Peter’s return to steam, and following her historic first moves at Crewe in part 1 • The RETURN of 60532 'B... LNER Peppercorn A2 pacific 60532 ‘Blue Peter’ made a move by road to the Severn Valley Railway to begin a period of running in, conducting light test runs prior to loaded test runs over the Easter break on the heritage line. This follows the milestone restoration since she last steamed over two decades ago!
On Friday 22nd March, knowing she might be out and about that day, I headed up and wasn’t disappointed, being able to get properly up close and personal to this magnificent locomotive. The sun made an appearance and we see her at Kidderminster, crossing Hampton Loade road bridge and at Bridgnorth being given a shakedown and looking resplendent in her partly finished BR Express Blue livery.
The other move of interest that afternoon came from Colas 70803 delivering brand new tamper DR75016 to Kidderminster straight off the mainline from West Ealing Plasser Sidings. As part of their agreement with the Severn Valley , Network Rail and Colas benefit from the use of SVR's track to train its operators running such track machines, while SVR benefits from being able to use the tamper to improve its own track.
37263 fired up and collected the tamper from the 70 to bring it onto the preserved line, and 20048 moved out to make space for the 37 to shunt the tamper back into Kidderminster TMD, while 70803 returned to Westbury working the 0Z76. The Harsco stone-blowing unit DR80207 also went out for a training run in the morning. For a day they were officially closed, the Severn Valley certainly had it all going on! | 22.03.2024

Well, I really enjoyed watching your video. Blue Peter is a beautiful piece of railway history renewed. Rejuvenated and running with the precision
of a sewing machine. I'm going to view this again. My wife will have to watch Hercules Poiret alone tonight. thanks for putting this together, and
yes I have subscribed. I'll be looking forward to future content down here in Queensland.
