Don't worry. It's French, it's complicate. Puppy is a word of the male gender (the feminine doesn't exist for this word), hence male possessive pronoun is MON. French is my mother tongue that's why I have seen this mistake. I'm sure that I have also made it in English. Speaking and understanding a foreign language isn't easy ;)
