Whoever thought of dropping him on the deck and then rolling into the sea was an animation genius
Somehow it's even funnier that it appears to be on purpose, James expecting it, like that's the standard procedure. Granted in reality a bathysphere that heavy would surely just punch straight through the deck and end up in the bilge, the old "dropping a Nokia 3310 on a hardwood floor" problem.
That took me out. I had to pause I was laughing so hard.
I seem to miss the point.
Was there a deeper meaning behind it or was is just for the sake of a gag
that thing would be ridiculously heavy and obviously meant to be dropped directly into the ocean. It would be like the boat dropping anchor and it falls out on the deck and some guy has to push it into the water. It’s just a dumb joke but it made me laugh

You see the difference between James Cameron's submarine and the OceanGate submarine is that James Cameron's isn't controlled by a 13 year old Logitech controller and has a catchy tune instead.
Stockton Rush's attention to detail was quite deep: he made sure the Logitech controller was a POS. The media made fun of him by pointing out that the controller got miserable reviews online... Ouch.
