I used to drink in the dungeon back in the 80s had many a great night in there, it was a dungeon in Jacobite times the prisoners were held there then taken over to the hill at the other side of the stream where they were hanged.
Hi Alec, I passed by here a few days ago. I saw the photos at the gate and wondered what they were. Now I know. Lol. Great to see the inside as I’ve only ever walked round the outside. Thank you for taking us inside. It was an awesome explore. Loved it. Well done and great photos as always.
I love how cool This pub looks inside! All stone, fireplaces in the walls, a booth in a cutout in the wall, old school furniture, sux it’s completely worthless with all the asbestos contamination. I still think if someone could invest on cleaning up the place it still would make an awesome château pub in the middle of nowhere!
A word of warning ⚠️ do not ever step on asbestos roofing sheeting the particles will go everywhere including your lungs I worked on roofs, however I'm quite amazed by some of your explores and how you find them.
I really enjoyed this one. Looked like it had been abandoned for at least 30 yrs so much of a mess. I always think of my grandfather-in-law when I see you in the countryside of Scotland. He was born in a little village northwest of Edinburgh.
Wow there's a bunch of gold pans laying on the floor. For gold panning. The guy is a treasure hunter like me. :D Now find me a set of bagpipes, I play those too. There has to be a set in one of these places.
one of the best explores for an atmosphere of what it must have been like in an old medieval castle , cannot understand very well your broad Scottish accents but you are brave adventurers like a lot of your fellow compatriots who we have always appreciated in times of war and extreme challenges.. Needs renovating - too amazing to lose.
Great post man, I'm amazed by the amount of stuff that was simply left to fade into obscurity, would love to know the history of the place and why it was left to deteriorate in such a manner, the pub must of been iconic in its day.
Brilliant explore. thoroughly enjoyed the experience..I so Loved the cave.. Vibe..was really drawn into it Thank you both very much.. have a great week.. see you next time.. love to your family..🏵️ Alec was that a stone wall.looked like Granite..
Looked like a great wee place for a night out. Surprised to read people in comments saying they went here often as it looks like it's in the middle of nowhere !! Loved the inside, those stone cellars must've been beautiful at night all lit up with the bar buzzing and people enjoying themselves. Shame all life is now gone. Cheers Alec 👍
Hahaha yes! ,It was the attic for me".thought I was going to see a "Laurel and Hardy moment" up the ladder.(ladder was funny) into the loft onto a rickety cabinet that tilted back ,. thought was about to throw him backwards, back through the hole ..
I used visit to drink in the Dungeon Inn, Glendevon near Dollar about 80s between 82s had many a great party night in there as near the holiday park caravan as well… That is great memories
Little sketchy at times pub was out in middle nowhere in its glory days sure it was fantastic country side views where beautiful! Alex great explore 👌 💯🇺🇸
Enjoyed the video, I used to go here with mates when I was a teenager. It was the 'in' place. My wife posted a video last year and got threatened verbally online by the owners! I'm pretty sure this is the reason for all the barbed wire at the gate 🤣
Now I know why.. one of the comments made me a little nervous.. Glad you had experienced this place when open...it has a cool energy , can believe it was trendy
Looks like the house portion was maybe abandoned 15 years ago based on that plasma TV in one room. Think a lot of these places are passed down to kids and kids of kids. Eventually upkeep, profits, desire, expenses don’t work out. The roof of the pub kitchen is sketchy, looks like they tied some 2x4s between an existing structure like a garage or horse barn and the house
Yeah so frustrating... not having the funds to make it re livable or even to start a new build .. would be nice too rebuild from the pub up .. keeping that amazing stone masonry. I have the same problem in another country.. think there's more chance of finding the right helping hands In the UK... you know ' .. like payment for labour by offering A share of the Land.. Or profits .. like from a kind caring.carehome .
I love places like this. I wish I could find a place like this that was actually open for business in Southern California. Maybe one with a lot of trees and a little stream running by outside with outdoor tables.
Hello pook smile, I have visited Thailand. in the 90s super special place..my favourite food.. I always hit the thumbs up on your comments It's lovely that you leave a comment and your English has improved a lot.. Do you have the banana pancakes, batter recipe..yum I'll never forget how good they were.. love to you and beautiful Thailand 💝🧚👍
Based on the Bacardi Breezers bottles, I'd say this place last serviced customers between 1995 and 2000. Neat find. That bottle of Chartruese took to my drinking days in New Orleans in the 90's. I do kind of wonder what the original purpose of the building was. Surely not a pub?
Great video. It was still open in the mid 90s, during that time I attended a rave with Andrew Weatherall as the headline act in the dungeon if you can believe it!
Millionaire or not it’s a bloody disgrace to let this historic place fall into such a terrible state - shame on you Mr Millionaire 80 years old or not. Loved it though! New Subscriber. Love and positive vibes from Sydney Australia 💗☮️🤗🐨🇦🇺
Totally agree Sandra.. Was he a millionaire.must have had some money though if he had other properties.. just wanted to spend his money else were.. let's see maybe when he pop's his Clogs ... and leaves that cash his got stashed away.. the beneficiaries will use it to restore the building How cool would that be to live in the dungeon.. cozy
Hi Alec, do you know any history of this place? I love how you’re steady with the camera despite many obstacles in your way. That view 26:04 😍. Great job editing the third person that was with you 😉
Yes I thought the same.. but looks cool now to...it has such an energy and a presence I would love to visit again in a hundred years..I really think that bar will still be standing after most of the building collapsed
OMG!! I had roller skates like that when I was little, loved them. Do you think some of the mess is because they were hoarders or a mess from unscrupulous wannabe explorers? Does anyone know a build and abandon date?
nice vid alec be careful you could end up a wanted man too when I saw those pictures at the gate🤣 strange there was no fridge or washing machine in the kitchen upstairs, in your pictures at the end I could swear the one with the piano that the candles where lit did you light them for the picture
I'm smiling at your comment. because it really did look that way to me to. And could well have been.we may have been thrown off by the upstairs.even looks like the upstairs was built on the remains from a Castle
It’s like the owners just got up and left. Don’t understand why you wouldn’t clean up the place before you left it to rot, would look better for potential buyers to help save it🥺.
Edit: commented before watching the whole thing! Whoever lived here must have been a family, we’re they in an accident? It’s chockablock with a full life, no one would leave their Smash Hits Magazines behind if given a choice 😂. Laughing but it’s a sad one. 😔

The problem with asbestos sheeting is, as it gets older it becomes more brittle hence if you stand you go through it extremely quick.
I remember brining here in the 80s & I’m sure early 90s, shame to see The Dungeon left to rot like this 😢
Went here in the 70's nearly every weekend. Had a great disco and restaurant.
