This was pretty groundbreaking material for the 80's with Steven dealing with a homophobic workplace and coming out to his boss. Older boss Walter Lankershim played by Dale Robertson recently passed away.
Boy, oh boy, if this guy is supposed to be gay, then I sure don't want to claim him as a member of OUR community! Here this guy is trying to stick up for him, and he just stands there and does NOTHINIG and then walks out!?!? I'll refrain from name-calling, but he SURE does not measure up to the gay men in MY community; he's WEAK.
You have to remember this is the early 80s, homosexuality wasn't accepted as much back then, even if someone was defending you it wasn't seen as something to be proud of.
