- Jetfire infiltrates the wreckage of Trypticon in Operation Longshot in order to liberate Optimus Prime, Jazz and Cliffjumper from Kolkular so that Optimus Prime can continue his mission to destroy the Dark Spark.

Its strange yet kinda heartwarming seeing the old assets used from wfc and foc. Makes me feel bad for the devs who had to make this game in what 3 months? All because they wanted it as a promo for age of extinction
For real, if it wasn't for the ridiculous deadline and being forced into a movie tie-in game it could have been a great project but despite this the devs still made an enjoyable game in my opinion (Despite the various bugs but that's understandable given the production time) But hopefully Transformers Reactivate will be as great as what this game could have been.
It's reasons like that is why we don't see tie-in video games any more?
@godzillameister maybe. Or because the devs aren't given the time to make a proper video game for the tie in and instead a few months to make an interactive trailer

Rip out all the Bayverse nonsense and this game would have made incredible DLC for Fall of Cybertron. Since it’s literally on the exact same engine, it wouldn’t have been difficult to make either.
If you think about it, if we would’ve gotten the OG ending for DOTM, we probably wouldn’t get AOE and probably something else in its place meaning this game probably wouldn’t have existed
I wish they took longer to work on this game, it could've been so much better
IMO this game was thrown off by including the bayverse storyline in it, like I feel it would’ve been cool and worked as like a cybertron series dlc that way the story would be fleshed out more than it was. I know it was to promote AOE but they could’ve gave the devs more time if they wanted a bayverse game to promote the movie or at least released one after like they did with the previous ones
So I can only speak for myself, but this game has a really interesting idea and premise. In my head cannon, this games story takes place after megs takes down starscream in FOC. Instead of megs taking him out and Starscream getting revenge, its this story instead. Obviously its questionable to have a traitorous subordinate pick up a rather powerful artifact. But to counter that argument, it's arguably worse to keep them as the second in command of your military. While i would love this idea, take place fully on cybertron; I respect the devs for doing their best. This game is kind of like AC Rouge when compared to AC 3 & 4. Both are decent games, that could use some polishing and could use some story tweaking. However both have charm, and do work well enough. Maybe one day we'll have another game with the dark spark in it. Perhaps that's what caused Megatronus to be the way he did, or Leage Maximo (I probably misspelled his name to, sorry).
That sounds like a way better explanation than the official "Between WFC and FoC" timeline we got for the game especially because of the plot holes and Megatron being in his FOC design instead of his WFC design. But I agree with the story tweaking and the potential for a possible prequel game involving Megatronus, Liege Maximo and Jhiaxus being involved with the Dark Spark and the plan the ancients had to contain it, which may seem a little far fetched but it's still fun to think about.
One of my favorite chapters in rise of the dark spark. ❤

Not only did, in the meantime of these six months, create a very (for me atleast) unique and interesting storyline
They (while being forced to) brought back fan favorites, but also did it in a way that made sense and brought a sense of joy to the user, I loved playing swindle, immersing myself in shockwave finding the terrorcons with soundwave and STARSCREAM was amazing for me
Every point of the game, was immaculate.
Everyone hates on it because

They hate the fact that the movies were involved in the story, even though smothered levels that were on earth were very entertaining.

I completed dark spark a month ago on the pc. game is so bad.
