stampede is my first actual experience with trigun. i've always known about it, but never read or watched it in the past. i happened to watch the first episode of stampede by total chance, a friend put it on while we were hanging out, and i was hooked immediately. I'm aware that the story is told much differently, but i made the decision like 3 episodes in to actually read the manga because I thought it was so good. i'm honestly really excited to get into this series, and vash may be one of my new favorite anime characters.
people are griping a LOT about this reboot because of how differently it's told, and i get it, i might feel similarly if i was an og fan, but they also don't realize how many new people are suddenly discovering trigun for the first time and actually having a blast with it.

I do think most people complain because it doesn't give them the same nostalgia factor as watching the 90s adaptation. But I've read an interview of the manga author. He's part of making this version and he said that when he watches it, he sees the trigun that he created. Because if he wasn't pleased, pretty sure he wont give a green light in changing some details such as Vash's appearance. And yes, a reason why they made it less similar from the 90s adaptation is to attract newer fans. At least that's what one of the people who created it said

    • @OreWaLavai
      @OreWaLavai Před rokem +4

We’re complaining because the 90’s anime was finished before the manga, and all we want is for our beloved series to get the FMA brotherhood treatment, but instead we’re getting some hipsters incomplete fanfiction loosely based on the intellectual property, with none of the original heart or soul of what made the manga so special in the first place.

I watched up till episode 7 of the original and got bored... watched the full original series a year ago and I can tell you it's better than this new series.
Characters in the original are very well developed and introduced in the original series... full stop that is why the original is better.
fuck the animation vs CGI (I don't care) the original billion double dollar man is way more lovable and so are the journalists that follow him.

As someone who has never seen anything of Trigun before this, the anime had me hooked from the beginning. The CGI is extremely good (come on guys, even if you don't like CGI you can't deny this is at least good CGI if nothing else), and the characters are all amazing. I do think indeed there are some points where the story may have benefitted from some more mystery instead of revealing a lot at the beginning and moving so fast, but not to the point where I get annoyed by it or lose interest. I'm also definitely watching the original after this ends.

Vash became my favorite the MOMENT he showed himself on screen❤ and I love that! It’s charming and kept me wanting to know more, which is something an anime hasn’t done in a long while. So I’m grateful for that!

I’ve been a huge fan of trigun for years now, and I’m personally enjoying trigun stampede! I do prefer the original, but that might just be the nostalgia glasses talking haha. Yes the remake has its share of problems (I feel like the pacing is the root of it - modern anime’s trend of 12-episode seasons doesn’t help anybody), but I’m having a fun time! The animation is gorgeous, and I’m liking this new take on vash and the rest (remember - this takes place before the july incident, so obviously they’re all going to seem younger and less experienced - there’s room for character development!). I’m hoping Milly will come in in season 2, and maybe if I’m lucky vash will get a gun upgrade? Or maybe a new look closer to the original. Though I’m not really that bothered about small details like that, even if I think it’s a little less ‘cool’.
I think some anime fans get this weird superiority complex when they’ve known something longer, and see new fans as being less genuine, but I’m just glad more people are getting into trigun! I’ve loved it for a long time and am always glad to see more people discover it - a lot of the new fans are inspired by stampede to watch the 1998 anime, which I think is really nice. I was very sceptical of the remake at first, but I think it’s doing a very good job for what it is. Hopefully latter seasons will be less rushed - everything so far has felt like setup for season 2, so I can’t wait to see that pay off. Love and peace! 🤞❤️

i finally finished rewatching/reading all previous trigun media after i got done with stampede, and honestly, i can't understand how any fans of the original WOULDN'T like it. it's not as if the problem lies in it not being a faithful adaption-even the 98 anime a lot of people remember fondly wasn't that at all, and we never got an adaption of the manga that hit all the story and backstory beats it did. the 98 anime still got a lot right, but when i take off the nostalgia glasses, i can realize it's pretty far from the manga, and is objectively less well-constructed. still, i enjoy it more in a lot of ways, and i love how even in 98 we got a new take on the series, a trend which is being continued with stampede.
as an aside, i think they also just care a bit more about the details in stampede than they did in 98, which is more in line with the manga for me. the relationship between vash and wolfwood especially was something i always felt was lacking in the original anime adaption, but in stampede, we have amazing details like the episode where wolfwood snaps at vash using his name, saying he's "nicolas the punisher", only to be met with a title card reading "wolfwood". it's not huge, but it speaks a lot to him as a character, as well as how his ideas about himself are met by the world around him, and vash in particular.
in the end i have high hopes that stampede will find a way to adapt the manga line where vash says he wanted to share his tomorrows with wolfwood, because that missing from the 98 anime was definitely its biggest flaw. only half kidding; i'm honestly just happy stampede is bringing more people to like trigun. it's one of the best anime series of all time to me and i love to see people discovering it, no matter how.

Honestly if we get more CG anime and they end up looking this good I wont have any complaints over it ever again. The animation in this is slick 110% of the time, I have never had a complaint, except that it's actually irritating how they manage to put *so much detail* into every scene that I can't manage to find something to bitch over thus validating my previous hate for all CG based anime. This one anime, hell by the first episode, I was fucking *sold* on the idea. It absolutely CAN be done and done WELL. It doesn't have to be used by studio's to cheap out on a scene or mishmash together a throw-away hot mess for a quick buck, it can be used to make masterpieces that are worth standing beside the traditional 2D animation, if it's used with respect, passionate artists, and hard work, the same as any traditional studio would approach a 2D animation.

Honestly from a person who watched the original then watched the new one right after as it’s going, I like both, however I do have some issues with the new one with some of the mystery not being there but it’s not enough for me to stop, from the most recent episodes I’m learning more than I did in the original, there’s still things I don’t know which makes it more appealing to me,
I also don’t like roberto I find him extremely boring and flat, other than that to me the original wasn’t perfect either but the mystery and humor really sold me there, but this new one has a cinematic fling to it that I also enjoy, I just hope the characters have some development time because it is lacking on that end
Anyways I feel like it should be looked at as a standalone project because once I stopped comparing I started to enjoy it as it’s own thing, hopefully the season ends good so I don’t have to retract my statement 💀

As someone who only read the manga and watched the original anime pretty recently, I’m still pretty mixed on stampede. On one hand, there’s plenty of reasons for me to love it: it’s done by one of my favorite studios, it follows more closely to the manga, and it looks absolutely stunning, but there’s just a bunch of personal bias I have just against the style. For example, it’s paced far quicker, with characters like Livio and Elendira being introduced way sooner than they were in the manga and being redesigned in a way I’m not a fan of (like c’mon, why would they make the tall and pretty trans girl a little kid :,( ), the cowboy aesthetic that I loved from the source is much more sparse, and they removed one of my favorite characters for no reason (MILLY:,,,,(…). I get that all of these dislikes are personal issues, and the series is still very good quality wise, but it makes it just a bit more difficult to enjoy. Overall though, I’m still gonna keep watching and praising it for what it does do that I like, since I can’t bring myself to dislike a studio Orange production. It’s just difficult keeping in mind that Stampede is a total Re-imagination, and that I can’t compare everything to the OG! ! !

Me too. In my opinion, Trigun Stampede is average-ish. Maybe I give it another try when the season is over and dubbed in my language.
I miss Milly and I dislike Roberto because he reminds me of that guy who was hired to kill Vash.
Vash is a little Kid and Meryl is just an unexperienced girl. Seems to me, that Wolfwood and Roberto are babysitters or kindergarten teachers.
I prefer Meryl and Milly as team, a grown-up Vash and Wolfwood as Vashs partner.
In my opinion, they packed too much Story in the single episodes. It seems to me, they want to tell the Story of Trigun/Trigun Maximum in one season. That's why I guess there will be no second season.
I like the CGI. No Man's Land, the characters, the sandworms and the insects are great in my opinion.
Knives and Legato are as scary as in the Manga, I like it. Wolfwood is my favorite character.
I guess I would like Trigun Stampede better with the Characters, fun and humor of the old anime and more Story of the Manga, but I would not replace this specific character.

Good to see you again, broski. Hope you are doing well.
I must admit that Trigun Stampede to me so far has been visually stunning, but as a story has been a somewhat hollow imitation of the original. Things are simply moving too fast, and we never get to see Vash at his best before he is broken down. You might call the opening episodes of the OG anime "filler", and in the sense that it's anime-original and doesn't move the story forward it is, but it also gave us a lot of opportunities to see Vash at his best, doing his "crouching moron, hidden badass"-thing, giving us a good look at that side of him. Then the attack from the Nebraskas forces him to be more serious, hinting at his depths. And this depth gets more and more pronounced until his confrontation with Monev, where he is pushed so far that he almost loses himself and his morals.
Compare that to Stampede. How often have we gotten to see Vash succeed? Knives shows up in episode 3 and crushes everything, and every episode after that has furthered pummeled him, with episode 5's confrontation with Monev being especially egregious. It's a fine episode in its own, but as a part of the story, it feels so rushed. Vash has failed yet another person, and Wolfwood guns down Rollo and admonishes Vash's pacifism the same way he did in the OG with Ra-dei, but here it has no buildup. In Stampede they have yet to have ANY discussion about ethics so far. As far as Wolfwood knows, Vash's pacifism has yet to bite anyone in the ass. This only works because we know this dynamic from the OG and the manga, but in Stampede it rings hollow.
There are other issues as well, like how Meryl has almost nothing to her character now, being reduced to a stock point-of-view-character that has everything explained to her.
Mind you, I don't hate it, but it has massive flaws that remind me a lot of similar issues in FMA:B's first 13 episodes, where they speedran material already covered to get to the new stuff. After that FMA:B became great, and I hope Stampede will do similar, but so far, the story pales in comparison to the OG and the manga.

We didn’t watch the same show.
The first two episodes are Vash At His Best and Vash Succeeds. Just because Knives shows up in Episode 3 and is an Actual Antagonist does not mean the first two episodes don’t count.
Vash and Wolfwood’s ethics discussion is ongoing. Wolfwood starts out with the upper hand in Episode 5, but 6 and 7 show Vash with a counterattack - both in Livio and the Steamer/Hopeland.
Meryl is a greenhorn this time, yes, but she is an active idealist. She is the perfect support character for Vash and also proves Vash’s support for humanity by being willing to take risks to save lives. She is also not perfect, and regrets her mistakes.
If anything, Stampede makes the 98 anime look hollow. And I loved the original.

The main thing that's bothered me is just the changes they've made that they weren't confident enough to stick to, the changes they made that were for no reason (sometimes even changing things that had a reason behind them, to then have something with no reason), and the music. I didn't really enjoy most of the music as it felt made for scenes, rather than being songs that could work for scenes. They feel very clearly to be the background music for specific instances. There are changes they've made like Vash's revolver caliber. I know it's minor, but consider this: Vash was fighting strong people, huge guys, or machines, so he needed a strong caliber bullet. This wasn't to kill them, it was to do what he needed to. I can see why they made his gun a .22 because it's not very lethal, but Vash never was much for actually shooting people, so that change doesn't really work.
Overall, I've been actually really liking Stampede, it's just some changes and the fact at times they feel the need to pander to oldheads like me I feel kind of silly. I would rather they make their new unique thing and stick to it, you don't need to nostalgia bait me. Just knowing it's made from the same ingredients, but made into something very different is enough to not make me judge so much.

I have to try giving the whole season a chance. As a fan of the original version, I saw the first 2 episodes of this one and was a bit disappointed with the pacing of the story details and the lack of humor especially. Also Vash's gun is wacker and less old western this time, but thats a small gripe. I'm big on comedy and I loved the OG Trigun for mixing funny moments with seriousness and kick ass action. I do like the CG style as I'm viewing it as its own thing, so maybe I just need to push through and finish all the episodes to see where I fall with this remake. Also I hope Millie makes an appearance next season.

I honestly enjoy hearing about the humanoid typhoon and the $$60,000,000,000 reward. Every moment! I used to love watching the beginning of anime back then. I preferred when the story was happy and relaxed. When I could just enjoy the characters without the intensity of drama. I think your observation is less about people not getting who Vash is and more shows were just longer back then. So were the beginning establishing character and story episodes. I preferred the longer format too. The stories and characters got more time to develop and that helped them mean more to me.

I'm 17. keeping that in mind,it's pretty obvious i wasn't there to watch the original trigun anime. my older brother was,and has always been an OG fan. tristamp was my first time with anything trigun related.
i made my brother watch it. at first, through the nostalgia glasses, he refused at first glance. i insisted and he watched it,getting about as hooked as myself.
i watched the original anime afterwards myself, and started reading the manga. the original stuff was absolutely great, but i still think there's quite a handful of things where trigun stampede outdid the original- and that's fine. i just wish more people gave it a chance, even without having a pesky younger sibling forcing you to do it.
i would've never found a series that i liked so much in years, so i dare say tristamp is an amazing remake - yes, even with all the good stuff with the original, because both can be great. additionally, it really kept trigun from fading into obscurity in my opinion, because i think trigun as a whole( original and tristamp) are criminally underrated.

i really wish people would stop saying shit like that. the original anime is mostly anime original but that doesnt make it filler. it is not at all on the same level as some shit like the boat arc from naruto shippuden. trigun's anime original episodes do a better job of characterizing the main cast and their relationships between each other than even the original run of the manga. i cant exactly speak for maximum, Im not done reading it yet, but as far as the original manga and original anime go, the less lore focused anime original stuff is often more emotionally engaging than what it was adapting, and that is in part thanks to what people like you call "filler"

I am a professional 3D animator and can bring some insight just by what I have observed in the series.
Regarding your question if Trigun’s animation uses shortcuts due to being CG or if it “blows its budget” I can say yes to both and nothing of what you have seen in this show is easy to achieve. There are definitely advantages to CG animation like cheating with camera movements, breaking a rig etc that can make it more practical in certain aspects compared to 2D however there are equally harder things to accomplish with this medium. The character acting for example, is not only from video reference but also mo cap and 2D bases and corrections. The animators have to match movement from mocap, re interpret them for animation as well as hit keyposes that 2d animators draw for them so the animation is as stunning as what you see. There’s also the dynamic action scenes that are elevated with the camera direction and take full advantage of the assets at their disposal. There’s weight to their animation, secondary animation and even small details like sneezes in the background, snoring, and chuckles are testament to how amazing the animation is. It’s not perfect (for the trained eye, there’s a few things here and there where you kinda question who the hell approved that) but overall it’s an outstanding piece of work.

I don't feel any of the characters thus far feel very much like they did in the manga or og anime, Vash being the most different. The story and pace is also very different. To be completely honest, if I hadn't seen the original manga and anime I may not mind this one to much since I wouldn't be comparing (aside from the 3d/2d, still cant stand it). But the fact that it has so many changes makes me wonder why studios don't just start coming up with new original work instead of so many remakes/reboots.

I started watching trigun stampede when it was about half way through the season, and I was SHOCKED that it's rating on MAL is at about 7. This adaptation is far better than the first imo. Evidenced by the fact that I couldn't even watch more than a few episodes of the first adaptation, despite being a new, easy-to-please anime fan at the time.
Folks who still complain about 3d anime at this point need to get with the times and realize that it's just a new artform. Just like with 2d, it can look good or bad depending on whose using the tools. But 3d animation has a lot of advantages over 2d (from a production standpoint). And studio Orange has proven themselves time and again that they are masters at 3d animation. I hope other studios can learn from them, so more 3d anime can be as impressive as trigun stampede.

    • @SefniAsheforr

I really like this new version, but I'm gonna disagree on old Vash not seeming realistic. A lot of people use humor and silliness as a defense mechanism to mask their pain and fears. Especially with something they feel they just want to get away from. I think it made way more sense for Vash to not want to tell some insurance agents or some gun toting priest about all the stuff that he wants to put behind him. It's only when Knives makes that impossible that information slowly gets shown or told to Meryl and others. And then Vash outright tells Meryl everything when he knows he has to make a final stand against Knives.
That felt very organic and realistic to me, whereas this new Vash is pretty quickly willing to state much of things to people who are pretty much strangers. It's not severely uncharacteristic or bad at all, but I wouldn't call it more realistic than '98 Vash.
I like that old Vash is a genuinely funny and goofy person there, but also developed to be that way to keep others at a distance and deal with his own problems.
I suppose though, with what Knives does right away in this version, it's be a lot harder for Vash to act like he did in the original anime.
Really like Stampede so far though.

Everything that's to love about the original series is no longer present, and a lot of the characters feel not as developed as they used to. They definitely don't feel like the same people, yet. It feels pretty intentional to be honest. The thing that was good about the original anime is that it was a slow starter that changed in tone completely about halfway through. I think this anime could be the same. Vash is using a gun that shoots a bullet about half the size of the one he has in the manga and anime. July hasn't happened yet. Meryl is a reporter first, rather than an insurance woman. In the manga, she ends up as a reporter at the end. My theory is that Vash is going to get his .45 caliber pistol soon, lose his jacket and glasses in July when he will use his angel arm, have to get new ones that will look like the old ones, and Nightow will combine the fifth moon accident plot point with July and make the timeskip considerably longer. His bounty will increase to $$60 Billion. After the time-skip we'll see Meryl as an insurance woman, hopefully with Milly. I could see Deniro being set up to die in order to grow Meryl as a character more, as his character from the original anime had little to no bearing on the story besides the few times Meryl used her pistols, as he was the one who gave her a derringer and told her the phrase about even one bullet leveling the playing field between her and a grown man or however it was said.
I think the biggest reason Stampede is the way that it is, is because Nightow regretted a lot of Maximum. I would, as it was a bit poorly written and contrived. I think with Stampede he took the time to sit down and plan everything out, and having already written the story once, he already knows what the main beats of the story are. Nightow still likes the original look of Trigun clearly, as Legato's design is still pretty similar to the original, and so is Wolfwood's. So I think it's likely that a few characters will get a wardrobe change eventually.

The pacing is all over the place, its tone is depressing from the get go and doesn't really let up much except for small human moments that either drag on way too long or just land flat. I've had no expectations of it getting any better, and I'm still disappointed as each episode grinds by. The music as a whole is fantastic, but its use within the anime is barely even noticeable and I had to find the OST to even be able to listen to it. Lastly the intro and outro songs are bad and I don't like them.

Trigun stampede is awful, and it's not because of the cgi or the lack of milly. The major issue with trigun stampede is the awful writing and lack of atmosphere. For starters, the atmosphere. I don't mind the cgi, although I prefer 2D. I think the cgi is amazing, but it comes with a lot of drawbacks. For starters, the Cgi looks great, but it's too clean and bright. It just all feels way too nice for the dessert and doesn't make sense with the story, especially one that is supposed to be more serious and has people barely scraping by to live. A great example of this is when the bad lads gang shows up. Not only does their animation look bad, but the color palette looks just doesn't match. I also feel that the show loses that Western feel the OG show and comic had, and while I actually think vash doesn't look bad, he clearly doesn't match his surroundings. The art isn't the biggest problem though, I can overlook all these things but what I couldn't stand for at all was the writing.
They pretty much completely removed the comedy which woulf be fine I geuss if they were trying to go a more serious route as it seems but it's weird because they still through a little bit of random humor in that doesn't end up being funny just breaks your illusion of the story like the badlands gang members getting the pictures which wasn't really even funny and defeats the purpose of the show being serious. That being said, it's not like the OG wasn't serious when it needed to be infact it made more sense for vash to be providing the comedy relief. It both added to his charm, his weird way of non-violently disarming people and the way he tried to hide his past skeleton in his closet with comedy.
The show also often feels way too fast to the point you never get to breathe, while the OG show had some filler I wasn't a huge fan of it also had a lot of Thought-provoking scenes and a great overarching tone of mystery. One of my favorite scenes of all of them is in the episode lost july when the girl who tried to kill him along with the whole town recognized he was also the one who had found and comforted her after the explosion. The now show really just doesn't have a lot of intrigue, a lot of the stuff just feels very recycled from other things, especially have the classic story with the brainwashed close friend from my past and I have to remind him of my humanity. The betrayal from the kid I saw a mile away and was pretty cliche, too, or the part where wolfwood shoots the kid trigun is trying to save for literally no other reason than plot. He spends the whole time almost getting killed and doesn't shoot back only to kill him after saying this is insufferable
Because he didn't want to follow vashes ideals all of the sudden when he was out of danger and vash seemed to finally get through to the monster. In the show this part makes complete sense because the guy he shoots one of the gung-ho guns Had his revolver pointed at the girls and didn't want them to be killed he's already let vash be in plenty of dangerous situations, why is this diffrent. This simply just does not make sense for his character, especially after he already let it go that far, and vash was able to deesculate the situation and only waits till after he got done shooting a mini gun at him and calmed down. Speaking of wolfwood, my last point of contention, the characters.
I can say without a doubt that the character writing is the worst part of the show. No one is interesting or mysterious at all, and everyone is lobotomized and lacking any kind of character. For starters, just in the first episode, Vash is already seen to be completely insufferable and lacking all the charm and wit he had in the anime. He no longer is a confident marksman who seems to hide his past with some weird sense of humor, no. He is now a bumbling idiot who doesn't even have carry bullets who start crying and having a breakdown because he wasn't prepared. This is something the show would have usually made a comedic affair, but his crying like an idiot neither pulls off being serious or funny. Also, while I don't mind him dropping the womanizing and weird, they also completely forgot to give him any kind of character flaw what so ever other than breaking out into random fits. The other characters don't fare much better with wolfwood being the worst. Meryl has lost alot of her attitude which I thought could be a bit much in the OG but they also removed all of her personality. She is basically a revolving doormat for the other characters, Knives went from interesting, imposing monster to edgy teenage boy. Roberto, I don't mind but is pretty basic and inoffensive he adds nothing other than saying newbie 30 times and making me want to break something. I think worst of the the Charcters though is wolfwood. He epitomizes one note Character. They took an amazing and interesting character and boiled him down to just angst and Neuroticism. Worst of all, he literally can not stop quiping every five seconds like he has the worlds largest chip on his shoulder like some hot topic wannabe. Not to mention a complete hypocrite for killing rollo yet wanting to try and save his friend. This show doesn't deserve to be among the like of the OG Trigun period.

My beef with Stampede is short and simple. Vash's gun is now a .22 caliber. Makes it much easier for him to wound targets and not kill them. The .45 he used to have was a burden. The new .22 revolver is a crutch that removes or diminishes the challenge he once had to bear to avoid hitting a killing blow. Completely deflates the tension.

It will probably end the same as the manga but the journey isn't the same as the manga but neither was the anime the same. As an example one of the most important events in the manga and the anime hasn't even happened in stampede. Anyways give stampede a chance even if you've seen the anime or the manga. I watched all episodes, that means I gave it more than enough chances. Therefore I don’t intend to give it another chance.

Stampede starting animation sets the tone. It's not going to be rubber face hand drawn anime like the original Trigun. Episode 1 tries to capture Vash goofy, but it was bad. Glad they stop it. Episode 3 was like a Stephen King horror story. And I think the studio founds it groove.
My other grips that Vash sounds more like an emo teen. I keep thinking of Bell Cranel (Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka). Yea, same voice actor.
The show can go on without Meryl and Roberto. Come on, do something. Like fall in love with Vash.
Father Nebraska and his son was interesting. They are descent people that force to do bad things. And it's also ties in Vash hope that people can reform.
It's not a fun anime, but a melancholic anime. Right from the start with it's opening song. Buy throwing out cheesy comic moments, it tries to create a greater emotional depth.

idk, this remake isn't bad, but it doesn't feel particularly good either. Seems very average in the current anime landscape with the only standout being a pretty entertaining implementation of 3D. I must be jaded by nostalgia because they just start throwing gun ho guns and Knives into the plot and it feels like a mess. Also Knives is cliche villain af now.

    I don’t really like Stampede :/
I like the animation and introducing his origin at the beginning. Can’t really describe it, it’s different enough from the of anime that I don’t even compare it to the original since it’s basically it’s own thing now. The only thing I hold against it still is Vash not caring nearly as much for the loss of a life. Death occurs so much early on whereas the original anime makes it so apparent how vash is able to save everyone all the time until he encounters a villain like his brother.
Even with that, I have a hard time with the pacing and tone. Some episodes go through so much while others feel slow and like filler. It’s not bad but I personally don’t understand what people see in the story/character aspects of the new series. Seems like everyone is focused on the art style and music which are pretty good I’ll be honest

  • @OreWaLavai
    @OreWaLavai Před rokem +2

‘This new story follows the manga, so we’re introduced to knives and vash straight off the bat.’ That’s not following the manga, Knives wasn’t revealed until the end of ‘Trigun’ just before Maximum started. It’s quite late in Maximum we get their backstory aboard the ark.
‘Vash is not from earth’ actually he might have a better chance of being ‘from earth’ than any other character in the series considering he was a plant developed for the purposes of terraforming an uninhabitable planet so humanity could live on considering earth was inhospital after all our pollution ruined it, and the series takes place on a planet called ‘Gunsmoke’ though I think they even changed the name of the new planet the humans are trying to terraform and eke out an existence on in Stampede.
Stampede has been terrible so far, and I don’t have high hopes it’s going to end on anything spectacular.

Bro. If you're going to review anime, at least get pronunciation right. EE-REW-KA Seven.
It's not a better Vash. Vash wasn't some pacifist from shooting. He used his gun as a tool to cleverly win without killing his opponent.
Obviously the dialogue would be better than a script written in the 90s. It would be odd that it's worse. However, the structure and series of events feel rushed with one major thing happening after another

3d animation still doesn't look right, it's just a cheap way for companies to pump out more content, it could look better but that'd remove the reason they use CG, to save money.

Bruh cgi is not cheap on the actually more expensive than 2d animation they use it to save time not money and the studio that is making trigun stamped is an 3d only studio so it's going to 3d no matter , get yourself educated before commenting nonsense.

I really don't get this bullshit argument that it's just people hating change brought up by everyone all the time. If it's a change for the better, most people WILL like it. Like say I grew up with spiderman, loved it a ton... And you know how many times that shit was rebooted in all sorts of ways? Yet I had, nor have no problems with it at all. Why? It was pretty much all good, that's why. In my later teens, I liked a game called prey. It was supposed to be a continuation, but instead was a reboot... And while i don't think it deserves it's name at all, because its far more like system shock, I don't think it's a bad game either. At the same time I had a huge love for devil may cry 3 and 4, loved the games to death... And when the reboot came, I absolutely HATED the new character like most fans... But can still see the game plays well enough. Here though? There's absolutely nothing good aside the visuals, and even that is a bit of a hit and miss in some fields... The writing and directing meanwhile are HORRIBLE, which indeed makes it bad. People don't hate 'different' and new things, people hate when these things are bad and questionable.

Sorry the original was just better in every regard for me. I enjoyed seeing more about the seed project in stampede. But the original character of the show is just dead in this horrid CG animated mess. Rewrote entire characters and their personalities. Then put other established characters to their death bed. While trying to say it is a prequel. Just poorly done all around.
The sad part is, when the characters are not moving and we see the background. It looks great and I can see the ques of great drawing. The difference really showed in the Rem and the two boys portrait photo most for me. Where I could see what the characters could have looked like as proper expertly made hand drawn. But no, we get jimmy newtron.
