I have the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro too. I love how efficient it is at picking up dirt. It does a better job than regular mopping which spreads the dirt more than it picks it up. I used to clean the floors with the BONA mop, which did a pretty good job, but I had to do 3 to 4 passes and rinse out/change the mop pad to get clear water, even during weekly cleaning. The Crosswave does require to clean the floor a couple of times however to get clear water. A good way to test if the floor is truly clean is to do one last pass with a Swiffer Wet Jet afterwards. The Swiffer pads are usually clean, which is a good sign the job is done well. I then run the Swiffer along the baseboards to clean what the Crosswave couldn’t reach.
I also use it on my area rugs. I have a beige (yeah, not the smartest choice of colour, I admit) mid-pile area rug that I refresh weekly. I use the area rug brush on it (the one with red nylon bristles only), and it cleans light stains surprisingly well. I also have a carpet cleaning machine that I use every six months for deep cleaning, but since I bought the Crosswave and refresh my area rug weekly, the deep cleaning has gotten much easier to do and I get clear water after only a couple of passes, which is a great improvement.
All in all, this is a great machine. Works well. Gives great results.
Hello! I am glad to see that you love your crosswave too! I can’t agree with you more that it is sooo efficient at picking up dirt. I guess it makes sense that the mops push a lot of dirt around. I used to sweep or vacuum then mop, and now I just use the crosswave. I also agree that until the water is clear, there is more dirt on the floor!! Great thinking doing the Swiffer pass after using the crosswave. I have an area rug in my bathroom that the bath mat goes on top, so I also use the crosswave on it and I need to start using my Bissell Portable Spot Clean Pro at more regular intervals. I dont think I've clicked on a video so fast 😅 if you could do a petri comparison for the regualr formula vs the disinfecting one, that would be amazing ! I remember i think it was palm olive dish soap that made no claims for disinfecting, but did!!! Awesome vid once again 👏

I just had all carpet removed and luxury vinyl put down. I went ahead and purchased the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro and I;m loving it so far. I do clean it very well after use to avoid it starting to smell as some reviews have stated. I just ordered the sanitizing solution.

This was interesting! I was freaking out when I saw you cleaning that gunk in your sink! 🤢 Glad you didn’t let it go down the drain!😬 I’m too lazy to spend the time cleaning something like this, so I stick to more traditional methods. It’s just hubby and I now, and no pets, so my flooring doesn’t get too bad. My cordless vacuum and spray mop are sufficient.

YES!!! At first I was just pouring it down the drain, then when I saw the sediment that was left I freaked out!!! So I now remove it all in the bucket outside. It does take a bit to clean it out but for me in my home, I really think it is so so so worth it!! Thank you for watching and commenting! We are excited about our new home!
I was so excited to see you'd tested this product. I recently purchased one and I have mixed feelings about it. Years ago, I'd bought the Hoover Floor Mate and I loved, loved, loved it so, in comparison, the Crosswave is disappointing. The Floor Mate had a scrub brush instead of a roller, it was quieter, a bit more sturdy and the suction was excellent so the floors were nearly dry after cleaning. The machine itself was easy to clean and very rugged. We have six dogs, cats, children and it worked consistently with excellent results.Over a period of twenty years, I went through 3 machines that were each used daily. When I was looking to replace it a few months ago, I could no longer find the FloorMate, but the Crosswave was readily available in every store, so I took a chance. I think I will continue to look for the Floor Mate, but I think my experience was so good with Hoover that it may be hard for me to compare.
I don't remember the Floor Mate so I did just google and did see it on Hoover's Website. I really liked Hoover and had a Hoover Vacuum for what seemed like forever, then when it broke I did get my Shark which I am happy with. Hoovers are rather dependable, so I imagine the FloorMate was just as good. I do like the Crosswave a lot, and will try to make an update video after using it for several months. I am super impressed with the Crosswave's ability to pick up sooooooo much dirt. My son got me the Pet Pro version because we have long hair and like the extra strainer that catches the hair. I just saw the commercial for the Crosswave Hydrosteam! After testing my Shark Steam Mop I think they are ok but I love my Crosswave!!! I haven't used a Hoover Floormate so I can't speak of them, but perhaps once I earn some more money here I can purchase and test out the HydroSteam and the Hoover Floormate! I think what you are doing to clean your floors sounds perfect!
@PinkPower4 I agree that a steam and wet mop would be a great combo! I have continued to use the Crosswave and didn't return it, but the steam mop I bought at the same time I've barely used at all. I thought I would return both, but that didn't happen so I've been reluctant to now order a third machine, and I'm still using my old mop as well. Your method is similar to mine, so a step could be removed if the steam worked with the mop. I'll look that up, thanks for the info.:) Admittedly, I still will be ordering the new Hoover as soon as I can find space for it. I will definitely update you on it when I do.
I recently got one of these. I will say that if you have lots of carpet then this is probably not for you. I'm in unique situation where my current vacuum broke and I'm in transition from a house with LOTS of carpet into a home that I'm rehabbing that will have mostly hard floors. It's ok but not the best on dry carpet. My old vacuum was definitely better in that regard. But on the hard surfaces it is pretty great. If you have mostly hard floors and area rugs then definitely get it. For carpet then definitely get a cheaper vacuum that is for carpet. Also there are no tools like a crevice tool so you will need a separate tool for stuff like that. And if dry vacuuming it fills fast and clogs easily behind the filter. So you have to constantly dump it out and pop off the filter to get out dirt and hair. Also be sure to make sure that it is 100% dry before putting it back together. Otherwise the filter can get a smell too it.
I agree that this isn't the vacuum you want for carpet at all. It really is great for bathroom floors, hard floors but not carpet! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Worked great -- the first time I used it. So so the second time. Now will only pick up a minimal amount of water from floor. I have cleaned and maintained this machine per included instructions. I am better off using a mop and bucket.

The cleaner didn’t suck up the tree skirt. The roller got ahold of it and it rolled around the brush.
If my house was that filthy my wife would fire me.

I believe it was the suction. I have that bissell. Once I tilted the vacuum about 30-40 degrees on its side while it was on and sucked my shoe and foot to the bottom of it, my foot was not even that close to it. It was hard to pull off, had to turn off the vacuum. Felt that suction myself 😅
