Her voice is beautiful and it takes NOTHING away from the song. The original is one of the best songs of ALL time and this just adds to its legacy. Amazing cover, gave me goosebumps.
The Phil Collins original is my fave track of all time. This is the only cover version I've ever heard that I love!
This version makes me feel like I should be standing on the rooftop of a skyscraper while its thunder storming and I'm wearing my hoodie at night looking out at the city.
Simply Epic.
@@dzamija922 even if he was, you can't deny it would be epic, cringely epic
She tends to cover legendary songs legendarily.....
That note at 3:36 and the way she carries it forward…… chills
The ad for Believe didn't make me want to watch the show, but it sure made me want to find this song and listen to it on repeat!
honestly the show seems quite interesting compared to a whole bunch of others nowadays...
Heard this playing on Petals on the Wind trailer and I searched for it right after.
Same here. While the commercial was playing I used the SoundHound app to look it up and immediately bought it. A lot of people of tried to cover this Phil Collins great but this is one of the best.
I love this song by Phil Collins, Phil Collins is a legend. Usually anyone trying to re do his songs I wouldn't care about, because no one can do it better than him, but this girl did a pretty good job. She does a great girl version of the song, let's call it. Nicely done, Kelly Sweet.
I didn't think this amazing song could get any better, but she proved me wrong. I usually stay away from covers, but this was exceptionally done. Her voice and the feel of the song give me goosebumps. Kudos to you.
***** You can't be better than the original, it's not possible in my opinion. Phil Collins wrote the song and sang it with a passion that no one can ever top. This is his song, he is the best at singing it. Kelly Sweet did an AMAZING job of singing it, but it's just not the same.
Listen to David Garrett do an instrumental to this song on a violin. Wow!!
I don't know why, but this song is just perfect in any edition. All the covers are my favourite songs.
Omg why does this not have over a million views!?!?! I literally have listened to this on the way to work every morning for a month! So beautiful and majestic
2:51 gave me chills.. honestly.
I am a huge Phil Collins fan and heard many versions of this song......This Version is Phenomenal
Yes. Just... YES.
This is badass. So few covers of 80s songs entrance me. This gives me the same goosebumps as Phil Collins...and MORE!!!!
You honestly did Phil Collins justice with this cover.
This is the best cover I've ever heard.
Heard this on MacGyver in 2020
One of the greatest songs of the 80's, and one of the greatest covers of all time.
My girlfriend wanted me to give this a listen, so here I am at 7:15 in bed, in the dark, with chills. Kelly Sweet's voice is hauntingly hypnotizing.
I loved the original, but this takes it to a whole new level! Seriously!! Two thumbs up, Kelly!
I'm so happy that the "Believe" ad featured this song. I unfortunately hadn't heard of Kelly Sweet, and as I I'm clicking through her other songs, they sound amazing! Ashes of my Paradise just took my feels!
Good choice of song for that Petals on the Wind trailer. :)
have you heard the Majandra Delfino version on Roswell? She did a really good job with it.
J.J.'s got great taste in emotion and its execution in plot.
Words cannot express how amazing this is... I can't stop listening to it!
This is such an amazing version of this song, Gotham chose a perfect song.
This is one of those songs that I thought only Phill Collins could sing. Sweet pulled it off and made me Believe!
This is actually a really cool rendition of Phil's song. So awesome.
I just finished watching Petals on the Wind...this is an AMAZING cover. Perfect for the movie!!
Love both this and the original!
My dad grew up with this song, and I love this version, so I showed it to him. He loves it almost more then I do!
PETALS ON THE WIND brought me here. did actually cried tho' touched by Kelly Sweet voice and the lyrics.
🖐 Mac is Back!! 😎
BTW; Phil would be Impressed and Happy! Awesome song, Awesome Remake!! 👍👍
THIS IS THE SECOND BEST VERSION OF IN THE AIR TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh my god i've been searching everywhere for this...
I guess you could say you were *puts on shades* waiting for this moment for all your life?
me too! this from the commercial to that weird show right? who is this girl ive never heard of her, but this version is so refreshing!
Nice to hear a modernized version of that kick-ass drum fill.
I'm getting cold chills from her voice!!!!!
Hannah Harlow Not sunrising. Phil did the same to mask his anger. When He made the song after his first wife cheated on him.
Phil Collins, Non Point, In This Moment and now Kelly Sweet! I'm blown away at this cover!
Normally I stay away from covers, but this was just an unbelievable performance and the passion you can just hear it. Unbelievable.
Playing this song when i done with school.
I'm big fan of Phil Collins I've always loved this song you did an amazing job at this song
dude she nailed it..I'm with you on original but she brings an intensity to this. damn...
Still my favorite cover of this song. 💜
First heard this from the petal in the wind trailer...fell in love with it!!
Im willing to bet this will birth some seriously monstrous dubstep remixes
As a matter of fact, here's one I did a couple months ago! loudr.fm/release/in-the-air-tonight-stacks-of-wax-tr-remix/mh32G. Tell your friends I hope you enjoy.
i like this version its like a motivational one good for movies and inspiring
I can't stop listening to this! It's so amazing and I get chills! I recommend this to EVERYONE.
I've always loved Kelly Sweet! Addicted to her voice the very first time I heard her!

Being single and want to here a lovely voice in the morning brought me here lol
lol I played this and the ad came on before it, you know what ad I'm talking about. :)

I heard this in the petals on the wind trailer and just had to find it!!!
kellysweet You are so welcome!! I've had it on repeat for days its that good! Keep it up!
+kellysweet I heard this song at Richmond 2014 on Fox before the chase for the championship, and i was like OMG SOMEONE JUST OUT-DONE PHIL COLLINS :O
Amazing wicked awesome Kelly!
Petals on the Wind Trailer and 'shazam' directed me here - fantastic cover. Haunting.
Phil Collins, Nonpoint, the Dead Space 3 mix, and now you. All great versions of this song. ^.^
Ds3 is a remix of phil colins song no one knows who did the edit
I just heard your version during The Beginning of Nascars "Countdown to Green". I love your voice.
If ever there was a perfect cover of any song, this is it. Love her version so much!
Beautiful song!!! Gives me goosebumps, I feel like I'm in a movie when I listen to it lol...
Petals on the wind brought me here.
amazing song
I love this cover.
This woman is amazing!!!
It's amazing what you've done for that song. Phil Collins is not as famous as he once was. Not only have you done that song justice, you've done him justice. Beautifully done.
You are OLD when you heard both Phil Collins and Kelly Sweet "In The Air Tonight"
I'm only like 19. I dont know what definition you'd have to be using to qualify that as old.
@@xaviersamuels2202 lol i was 13 when i listened to and loved both songs
I love this. Screw whoever doesn't. Phil is good and so is she. As long as the ambiance is kept.
Wow. . . what a beautiful voice.
Simply amazing. Wow!
Macgyver S5E2 brought me here. I've heard so many guys/bands cover this, but I think this is the first female cover I've encountered. Very good.
So happy I finally found this song. It's ridiculously addicting!!!!
Amazing!! Absolutely incredible
who knew I would be so in love with a song
How I've never heard of Kelly Sweet is beyond me.
First heard this on a commercial for Believe while watching Hannibal. While I love the original, this one is pretty cool (and it still has that AWESOME drum solo, you know the one I'm talking about.)
Same. I still like the original. This one seems to have too much flux in the vocals, and an overpowering in the music, especially the bass effects.
Oddly enough that doesn't really bother me (but then again I don't have such a trained ear and really see music on a emotional level.) but I'm not saying that is better than noticing the details.
Gabriel Hackney I like it. phil Collins' is awesome. I dont hear the overpowering.i love the vocals and the emotion put into it.and the music is still 80s sounding.
Same! I saw this on the Believe commercial and i think i still like phil collins better but i agree this is really good
Dear kellysweet
There is only one word that can describe your cover on this song: Beautiful. It was absolutely beautiful. I hope you make even more of these.
Petals on the wind brought me here ! Love this version !!
This is the most beautiful song I've ever heard. I would love to perform this song someday. This is my inspiration. I loved it!
Just set a few things straight....This piece was written in 1980 by Phil Collins (Genesis drummer) and released in 1981 on his first solo album, "Face Value". It IS NOT about him watching someone drown, as the urban legend will not die. Phil as stated many times over the years, including in the 20th anniversary "Classic Album" interview done in 2000 that this song had no direct meaning. It was written during a very painful divorce from his wife and was simply a song that was composed from the pain of that situation...like much of Phil's early work. And for someone like me who's old enough to remembers the original? As many times as this song has been covered and/or sampled....nothing will EVER touch Phil's original take on it.
chills everytime!
Amazing Vocalist. A True Genius.
I honestly played this video thinking she was going to butcher the song, but it was actually very, very good.
I listened to another song of her's and I think I've found my new favorite artist.
Same here Red John... oh, that name... you must either love or hate The Mentalist.
It takes a lot to make me hate a show, but I stopped before the reveal of Red John. So when I read the previous comment (yours), I was surprised that they actually had a red john to show. My idea of an amazing ending would be if Patrick Jane was actually insane and killed his own family, without realizing it. and continued killing people afterwards, always pointing to the (up until now) mysterious "red john," only to be red john himself.
imagine the look on Lisbon's face...
Lisbon: "you are red john?"
Patrick: "no, of course not" (kills Lisbon)
"well, maybe..."
Sorry for getting your hopes up lol. I've quit The Mentalist. Uselss fvcking show.
My issue with the whole thing was, the writer (Bruno Heller) had spent FIVE SEASONS building up the Red John mystery. He kept dropping vague clues here and there as to his identity throughout the course of FIVE SEASONS...only to discard it all at the finale. He literally decided who Red John was going to be at the start of the 6th season (He said it in an interview). This means all this time he'd been dicking us around with clues that had nothing to do with anything.
And who does he choose as Red John? A guy who appeared in a grand total of 5 episodes (only 1 episode prior to the 6th season), who was a moron and nothing like genius he was made out to be.
I don't think Jane being Red John would've been a good reveal because it would leave a lot of plot holes. There were many occasions in which it was shown that Jane was at one place whereas Red John was at another. So if Jane was Red John, it would mean he was at two places at the same time.
In my opinion, the best candidate for Red John was Ray Haffner. He fit the profile, he was in a position of power and he seemed to have a connection with Lisbon. An even better choice would've been Bob Kirkland (because Kevin Corrigan is an amazing actor), but he only appeared in 7 episodes.
What a awesome remake & remix! Wahooo! Strong work
I normally don't like covers, especially in this style, but there's so many tips of the hat to the original 80s song. The ringing drum hits, the electronic drum fill, the faintly 80s synth...so good. I'm a fan.
She does an amazing work , such brilliant version !!!!! the remake with '' Now we are free'' was particular , simply love her beautiful voice !!!
The HALO tv show trailer brought me here 😂
Haha I just watched the trailer and had to find who did this epic phil colins cover
Who else caught a glimpse of this cover during a superbowl commercial and had to find out who sings it?
BY FAR THEE GREATEST VERSION OF IN THE AIR
KELLY SWEET YOU ARE AWESOME
blasted this in my car off my phone lol my whole apartment complex hates me when I blast music
A great cover to one of the best songs ever. ✨💖✨
Kelly Sweet evolved! We love you Haliene, you've come a long way. Been following your work since 2012.
Ooh this can be make into a sweet dubstep remix
I am here from the OG song and macgyver
Beautiful!
Love her voice the tec part and the emotion in to it!!!!!!
is it just me or does this song sounds like it should be played when you're
a) in the throws of passion
or b) plotting vengeance while looking out over the city as it rains?
Choice b
pitbull198932 i was thinkin da same thing
The answer is c) this song should be playing as an evil arch-villain stands in the rooftop garden of his mid-town high-rise penthouse, looking down over the city as, one by one, distant explosions tremble the streets, and the ensuing flames light up the nighttime city skyline, signifying that his plan for ultimate vengeance has been set into motion.
Well both--well the thought of epicness comes to mind when you mentioned choice B! Check the preview for Petals on the Wind and the trailer for NBC's A.D. The Bible Continues.
I agree with you. I'm choreographing a lap and pole dance for when he comes back from deployment.
