I always heard it pronounced "Diz-RAY-li". Benjamin Disraeli, the only British Prime Minister to have been born Jewish, 1804.
I listen to all your shows - love you guys, Eileen in Perth Australia, appreciate all the thought and effort you bring xx

Yes, perhaps our freedom lies in accepting, at a deep level, that we are not "bigger". We are humans and we need and want. We are not bigger - or smaller- than one another. We need one another.

I agree with Brady about the song. I think it's deep. I think the depth is in the repetition. Make God bigger than a concept is pretty nonsensical if you think about it. Bigger than martial problems? Bigger than struggling with cancer? Those are ideas. They don't have size. They're real but not in a proportional sense. Repetition disguises that.
I also think the song saying "your blood makes you bigger" and "your stripes make you bigger" is crazy too. Is that what makes size. There's a pretty tricky blend of literal and figurative that sneaks in ideas about god that otherwise wouldn't be there.
Keep up the great work, guys.

the song discussed around the 30min mark is what used to grind my gears when I still went to an evangelical/pentecostal church. i think those shallow cope songs are talking about a God that seems to be a glorified celestial western psychotherapist. a projection of our damaged and unfulfilled desires.

Re: the ex gay guy. Naw hollup this guy was recording tiktoks at work with the work logo visible?
Is it just me or is it absolutely ridiculous to do that in the first place? I would be fired if I did that!

As a gay guy myself with a long term partner I want to say there’s a small small chance that the gay guy meets a woman and they have a wonderful life together. Now do I think that’s a good plan for your life. no. Do I think that could lead to very bad outcomes and being on the down low in your 40s is no laughing matter yes people get seriously hurt.Yes. I have heard some chilling stories. Honestly it puts the wives in danger. However, it is possible that he finds a good woman and has a great life.
