Dan do you normally fish inside the "breakwall" outside or both?

both 1/2 oz and 1 oz.
Dan if i someone catches a bigfish where do you put it and at the end of the day do you fillet the fish on the boat like the sport boats do?
We have a large kill bag we keep filled with ice for all the fish and yes I clean all the fish for my clients at the end of the day.

Dan when you do the bottom fishing like you did in the beginning of the video can you also cast using surface jigs or are those top fish not around when you are fishing for bottom fish?
Thank you, I'm fairly new to fishing. I go fishing mostly in Ensenada, the skipper takes us to a location first where there is no rocks or bottom fish.The skipper specifically has us doing top water fishing i have used tady 45's and crocodile spoons the silver ones tend to work well they are about 2.5 oz. At one point he saw me trying to bottom fish he he yelled out not to. The skipper said there were no bottom fish in that location he said the bottom was all sand. The skipper then makes a move to where he has us bottom fish for lincod, scorpion fish, Sheeps head ect.... I was wondering if i would be able to do some more surface casting in that location or would it be strictly bottom fishing ? When we are bottom fishing we are still about 10 min from land.
Hi eli, it depends where you are. I agree with Stevo, you should always have a rod with a surface lure ready to go. I usually .had a rod rigged just in case I see some barracuda and something swimming by.
