  • The next generation is in desperate need of discipleship! Too often in the church, we have catered to emotions rather than focusing on the anointing and the power of God! In this installment of Ron + Hope: Unfiltered, Pastor Ron welcomes Pastor Matt to discuss the importance of discipling Gen Z. It’s not too late. We can still reach the next generation!

20 years ago when my sons were in junior high & high school. I heard the lord say to teach them my word. They attended youth bible studies every week. Being a single mom it was a challenge to keep them away from the temptations of kids that were bad influence on them. My oldest son was even in a gang and dropped out of school. When he attended bible studies the youth pastors were very compassionate and bold with guiding them to seek Gods word in their daily lives and to be accountable for their actions. They learned the fear of God and that he was going to protect and guide them daily. The bible studies was Chosen Generation. I witnessed the fruit of all the youth there and most of them were fatherless. One year we all attended a conference called "Acquire the Fire". It was life changing for them. If the youth taste and see the lord is good and he will never abandon them and guide them. They will have a strong commitment to follow hard after him. His word will never come back void. Thank you & Pastor Hope for your sacrifice to move to the bay area. I know you were called and will be abundantly blessed and see the fruit of your sacrifice.

This was so powerful. Pastor Ron, thanks for your transparency in this. I think you’re emotional because God is birthing something in you in this arena. I walked into redemption in Greenville in 2002, as a divorced single mother. I had been in and out of churches my whole life. It was the first time I had ever walked in a church building and felt the presence of God. I went because of that. I had been saved but I still lived in the world. I didn’t realize God was using my time there to get the word in me because when I did fully surrender my life to Christ I entered several battles and what I learned from you helped me fight. One of your best sermons I felt was on homosexuality back when you were still at the old campus. Years ago. I have tried to find that recording but can’t, I hope you didn’t remove it? It was so good. You said I’m an equal opportunity offender and you spoke to both sides equally truthful. It was the most balanced word on the subject I’ve seen and it helped me to know how to stand on the subject. God still uses you to speak into my life to this day and I am forever grateful for the man of God you have been. Let God continue to break your heart for this generation. I know he has mine. I’ve been going through some hardships with my own children who are of that generation. But, it’s in the crushing God allows us to see them more clearly and how to reach them even through all the obstacles we face to reach them. God bless you sir
