    Man was keen on buying a PA until I saw this video, stuff doing that after every off-road ride

      Same... I've been looking at the PAs... binge watching all the maint. videos and will just keep my DR650.

    Where they put the air filter is a dealbreaker for me.

    Found you guys by accident. Looks like we ride some of the same areas in NC and eastern TN mountains. You should consider offering upgrade parts for the Pan America. For those of us that off-road this bike, we need a pre-filter. If you designed and offered one I'd buy it. I think many PA owners would as well.

    I have an interest in doing my own maintenance and I hate the idea of placing the air filters under the tank. To me that’s a deliberate deal breaker. If it were like the ktm 1390 SAS or 1250 gs where it’s in front of the tank and not under it, I would consider it. This WAS the only Harley I was considering,….sadly, not anymore. If they moved the filter under the seat or in front of the tank, and added a shaft drive, it would be number one on my list. As is, removed from list, sadly. Good video though.

      Afraid of a little maintenance are we ? Lol. Shaft drive??? Apparently you haven’t seen all the failures GS owners complain about.

    • @plzseeme
      @plzseeme Před 5 měsíci

      @@hydroboy35th prefer simplicity and saving time. Though I have heard of GS in some cases not even being greased by the factory at the splines causing me to reconsider that line. Don’t think the 1300 gs changed the design either.

      @@plzseeme no bike is perfect. I’ve owned just about every manufacturer, just pick what you like and be happy. They all have little nuances here and there but that just comes with the territory. Thank god for maintenance manuals and CZcams haha 🍻

      Yeah very true. At least we have the freedom to choose. Thank God and our vets for that.

    I have a 21 goldwing bagger, and the process to change the air filter is way worse on there. This still isn't great, but it's better than that.

    Great video. Question. If you disconnect the fuel line onthe bottom do you still need to remove it from the pump end?

    • @PrismSupply
      @PrismSupply  Před 6 měsíci +2

      We don't think so. You can probably get away with keeping it attached at the tank.

    • @donnellans
      @donnellans Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yes, keep it connected to the fuel tank and just fish it through when you reinstall.

    Great Video, I wonder what a dealer would charge you to replacement of the air filter. Could you give us your thoughts on the Pan American? I've been on the fence about purchasing one. One of the main concerns is the high cost of maintenance..

    • @donnellans
      @donnellans Před 5 měsíci +1

      All dealerships now, Harley and otherwise, charge a premium for labor. Best if you learn how to do it yourself with the shop manual, and countless CZcams videos. Get to know your bike as well!

      I think you have to take your bike, to your HD dealer, after installing the Screaming Eagle air filter, to have your PanAmerica computer re-flashed, for the fuel/air ratio updates?

    • @donnellans
      @donnellans Před 3 měsíci +2

      @@allenaskey278 no, the air filters designed for the Pan America do not require any kind of reflash. Same with the Screamin Eagle exhaust. No reflash required.

  • @dylkelley
    @dylkelley Před 3 měsíci

    It’s crazy how bad the stock filter is. Even the screaming eagle one let’s fine dust by. Poor design all around. I tried a pre filter over the front snorkel and the bike hated it and ran like crap until I removed it

  • @hydroboy35th
