  • As you can see from the videos, it isn't majorly obvious but Maggie definitely isn't 100%. I will keep you updated with her progress.
In the last 6 months, I have had the vet to Maggie out 3 times and I also took her to Newmarket Equine Hospital in September last year. We have been really trying to make sure she is happy and comfortable but it is clear that more investigation and help is required.
Hopefully we will get some answers this week and we can move forward from there.
So much love for my super mare 🫶
    Thank you for watching x

Ever since I started watching your channel I have loved your refreshing outlook on most things that your horses throw at you. So many throw in the towel or get angry at the horses, I admire you attitude and the way you care for your horses. Fingers crossed you get to the bottom of it with Maggie. Sending love to you guys!🧡🧡

There's always highs and lows with horses and it's brave of you to show all sides. The main thing is you weren't hurt and are doing your best for Maggie.

You are amazing the way you care for and about your horses. It is the hardest time when you know something isn't right, but not what. Only ever share what you want to and please try not to be so hard on yourself. Think what you would be saying to someone else in your situation. Hugs all round, and sending healing vibes to Maggie. Take care. xx

I love how much you love your horses and giving them everything you can to find out what it causing Maggie and all your horses what is not right about your horses no matter what you do to get the answers you need to get to the bottom of why Maggie is just not her happy self. When I was watching you do the dressage I could just see that see wasn't quite flashy like her normal self. I hope that Newmarket will be able to actually get you answers with what is happening with Maggie. My fingers are crossed and prayering that they can find out what is going on with Maggie.

Thank you for posting this, it would be so easy to just not since you open yourself up to uneducated opinions who aren't involved. This is the reality of horses and you are incredibly thorough with your horses, your care is top notch so don't feel guilty like you missed anything its so difficult to find the root of any issue when they can't tell you (or sometimes don't want to show/tell you) chin up hope they find the answer! xx thanks again for sharing it normalizes the ups and downs xx

So sorry you are going through this with Maggie Evie. Don’t beat yourself up about not going to the vets sooner. It’s so much easier if they are obviously lame but you can only do what you think is best and at least you tried a few things to see if they would help. Fingers crossed it’s just something simple and you will be back out in full force soon 🤞

Oh they love to this to us don’t they! I hope you get some answers, but maybe it will give you some comfort to know you’re not the only one. My gelding was “off” last year. Just not happy, but nothing I could point to. Full blood work, lameness etc and nothing came up at our local vet. Ended up being muscular and I think from a slip in the field in the spring. Four months of massage, magnawave, and turn out away from more energetic friends and he was back to normal. Fingers crossed for Maggie!

Sending much love & hoping Maggie's health improves quickly & completely. Be kind to yourself, Evie, no-one could do more for their horses than you. Having been a nurse, trust me, when dealing with those who can talk, even then, diagnoses & care can be incredibly difficult. Hang in there ❤

  • @julen2380

I don't think if Maggie could talk she would be able to put a finger in a definite certain something. I think she would say something more like "I don't know. I'm just not quite feeling it. I'm a bit down and then little things like that stupid scratchy, itchy nose throw me when I normally wouldn't care". And you obviously heard that very clearly and are trying to do your best to help her feel comfy and happy again. Fingers crossed that she does soon! And please know that it's more than fine for you not to share everything! I love that about you and your vlog that you are horse woman and rider first and vlogger second. You be yourself and do what feels right for you and the horsies and we're happy to come along as much as you'e taking us. :)

You did well explaining and analyzing that you felt Maggie was not as energetic and want to explore. That is horsemanship in action and you are to be commended! Analysis of a fall is too much to add.

  • @equestrianmelissaeventing
    @equestrianmelissaeventing Před měsícem +1

Aww bless Maggie. I really hope it is something simple and she has a quick recovery! But Evie please stop beating yourself up! We can all see the care and attention your horses get from you, sometimes you just can't know for sure without further testing, the fact that you know your horse so well that you can see/feel something isn't right from that is more than you can do...sometimes it takes so much more obvious/drastic behaviour from a horse for us to see. xx

Really enjoyed the course walk. I can never lead my horses in together. There's always at least one horse who has decided that they should be my only horse and attacks the other horse.
I hear you on not wanting to show the fall. If it hadn't been at a competition, no doubt you would have made sure that both you and Maggie were safe and sound and then remounted.
You and Maggie will get there. I have every confidence in the two of you.

  • @juliecarmody6773

You are fabulous & very real with your horses which is why I like you & mum so don’t be hard on yourself & it would be very handy if they could talk & tell us how they are feeling. I did notice she was a little flat leaving the start box & the first jump she did a little shift to the left . Hoping it’s a good outcome for the girl & you’re right she has had a lot to contend with & if anything I’m hoping for a minor stomach issue which is easily dealt with . Maggie couldn’t ask for a better mum , fingers crossed for a good outcome & when sorted the pair of you will be back as a fighting force 👍🩷

You have literally been on the ball all the way along with Maggie. Sometimes things take time to manifest themselves. You ALWAYS take your horses side so there is nothing more you can do ok. You are an amazing horsey Mum. You never miss a thing. Hopefully Maggie will be ok BUT you could not do anything more. And yes of course I do know that words are cheap and easy.
