- Tonight's guest, Paul Levins, dedicated 20 years of his life to the U.S. Army. While he was in the Army, he served as a paratrooper and worked in reconnaissance. Now, Paul is a land survival instructor, for the Navy. As you can see, it’s safe to say that Paul knows his way around, in the woods. Well, one night, in 1972, when he was 12, Paul and a friend of his were camping in a German forest. The two were having a great time and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. That is until Paul realized that a Dogman was standing less than 2 feet from him!

What a pleasant change it is to hear someone describe this amazing being as “magnificent”. I’ve been listening to four year’s worth of dogman encounters and it seems pretty much everyone talks of fear and trembling, terror and torment. Finally.... someone just talks about it naturally as a creature of the forest. I’d love to see one but of course, I’d like to be safely behind the locked door of a remote cabin. It’d be fascinating. Glad this retired soldier feels we should live and let live and not kill something just because we can. All creatures have a right to the life they were given. We should not kill any animals.
Finally a more positive encounter for once! I also liked this guest, he sounds like a nice person. Definitely a great episode.

I lived in germany for two years & i remember being on a volksmarch where we had to go through a woods, that woods creeped me out for some reason, so i bypassed it. There are some areas in germany that are weird. thank you for sharing your story!

I think this is my favorite dogman story. Paul did such a good job telling this story.
Wow, this is not to far from where I grew up in Germany. I was in Schweinfurt and Kitzingen and Bamberg last year 2018. The nature and countryside still looks as beautiful as when I grew up there. But the traffic and population sure has increased in BIG numbers. Being in the City it gave me anxieties. I was always glad when we left that hussle buzzle !
They seem to be more territorial than aggressive and blood thirsty for human flesh. Maybe they know we aren't healthy to eat by the things most of us consume. If they have the smelling senses you'd think they'd have, they could smell if we were toxic to eat or not. Also, I think they are intelligent enough to know attacking us would draw unwanted attention towards them. To them, we might be the monsters we think of them as, and might be scared of us in a way, knowing what we are capable of when we join together. I think this is why they try to scare us as much as possible when we encounter them.. to try to claim their territory as much as they possibly can without causing us harm. I also think that they are very curious of us at the same time for the same reasons. To know what we are capable of and what are intentions are when we get close to their territory.
I enjoyed your story paul frightening as it was. Close enough to touch? Come on Vic! Ecole!!! This creature makes you jump ouf of your....Skin. Paul holding this story for soo long. Love your logic on this creature. Vic you are still the best. Your compassion is evident

Can’t imagine being that close to a dogman. That’s crazy!
Wow, I'm from Germany and I read a german article about this dogman encounter, but it was extremly short (5 lines or so). When I tried to find out more about this encounter I couldn't find anything. But after listening to many of your episodes and quests, I got here today and while I'm still listening I realise, that Pauls dogman encounter is the one from the german article, that I was looking for.
From a very early age on (3-4) I kept having the same nightmare, of a "werewolf" hunting me. It was really bad. When I grew up, "werewolves" stayed my biggest fear, even though "I knew they were not real". I always spent and still spend a lot of time in the forests and nature. It was always my safe space. And even if "werewolves" were my biggest fear I was always so happy, that I could hold onto the fact, that they were not real, and therefore my fear was not real. So, I guess one can imagine, when I found Dogman Encounters, how it crushed my world. But especially after studying psychology I couldn't lie to myself, that some of the guests dogman experiences I've listened to, were not truly experienced.
So, at first listening to your show really crushed me. My reality, my safe space. It scared me so bad to know, that when I'd be out in the forest the next time, I couldn't tell myself "there's no werewolf, dogman" anymore. But after listening to many of your episodes now, I am not scared anymore. Since I can see their nature is not black or white. They are not all good but most importantly they are also not all evil. Which makes me very happy, since I obviously share a strange, special bond to these creatures, since I can remember (also to animals in general, always had a deep love for all animals :).
I'm also very happy that the dogman encounters in Germany I've heared about so far seem to be with the "good ones". No bad smell, physically hurting or terrorizing. Maybe Alexa's encounter (episode 100) wasn't a "good one", but on the other hand, if you look at her encounter objectively, the dogman didn't do anything (evil), except standing in front of her window, while looking at her. It didn't try to come in, which would have been the easiest thing for him and he also didn't wait outside for her or tried to follow her (car), when she left her dads house. So the true terror of that encounter was more what she felt inside I guess. Anyways, thank you for everything you do Vic. 🌷🌕 Especially what you do for the people who are obviously traumatized. I really like your channel and voice. 🖤

I saw one in Louisiana 2017 when I was a truck driver, when I got back home in California I started searching for info about this creatures thats when I found out about this show and also about Linda Godfrey, fortunately my sighting was from the truck on motion on hwy 33 close to Arkansas border.

what a great guest, and a wise one to boot, like everything in life there is always two sides to a coin, as the guest had experienced a calm being, others have experienced aggressive ones, no difference to canines' we all are familiar with, except these are super intelligent, ( unscrewing lightbulbs so that they can sneak up on you ) which is super creepy,
