- The second and final part of my Liverpool Cathedral video.
In Liverpool Cathedral reside the heaviest bells in the world hung for "normal" full-circle ringing. In this part, oyu can see why it is called full-circle ringing: the bells swing 360 degrees - a full circle - when they're rung.
The video starts in the lift up to the Belfry: the bells are seemingly quite quiet. Then the doors open. You are hit with a barrage of sound, which tries to deafen you. It is so loud that we are all wearing ear protectors!
Up on the roof, I unfortunately couldn't get any views over the Mersey because of the sun's position in the sky. I couldn't see anything at all due to the reflection of the low sun in the river, so it would've wrecked my camera lens. If you want that view, go to the Cathedral and all the way up to the roof! lol

'It's surprising how well you can hear the bells'
Indeed, there's far to much echo in that large space for the actual direct bell sound to come through. Which is a shame as they're probably amazing bells but no-one really knows. But the sound at the start of this video is really good!
You done and exceedlingly good good job on the video, these would be rhe world worst bells for sound , mothing do do with the bells but a tower simply wau to large.
The standing waves would be boumcing all over the place.
The floor is concrete and tje walls stone.
Ok we need some cahed up dude with the readies to donate to the cause

oh right okk, i was down at the 12 bell finals that day so i wasn't ringing in that clip! :P
@LauraBellringer It was filmed on Saturday 26th June 2010, at the end of a tour of some Liverpool towers by a group of ringers from Staveley in Derbyshire (plus the Revd L Martin Daniels: the Vulgar Vicar! lol).
