    When drawing in real life situations like if your are literally fighting someone off or holding back a threat with your non dominant arm you are most likely not going to be able to draw the same as in your home practicing.
    I recommend practicing good trigger discipline cause it’s keeping your finger off the trigger until on target is what’s going to come into play than the chicken wing draw or rhino horn lift also there’s also going to be some risk factors or lasering yourself or someone else during a threat especially holding someone back while drawing but it’s the redundant training we have with trigger control I put before everything else when it comes to drawing my weapon.

    You really need to add the S&W CSX to your lineup of holsters, especially the Miami Classic ll. This would make a great rig for that gun, and there are a bunch more small frame pistols that would work with this system as well. Gee all you would really need is a pistol form to make any new model. Doesn't seem to me that would be too costly, but the profits would certainly offset that cost for sure. The horizontal mag carrier is great addition to this rig..

    This looks like a clean and easy system. I've shied away from a shoulder holster because I've only used one, in the military. And there you don't have to conceal it, and I've just assumed it too bulky to use a citizen. But this looks like it will work well for concealed carry.

    Recieved mine today for a Glock 19. It's great, rides very nice. I didn't get the nice chicago style screws with my rig like on the video. Just four plastic snap in deals. I have some old belts I guess I can rob the good screws out of. As far as the light-weight Glock, holster feels and rides great. Would like to have one for an small 1911 but I don't think the straps are wide enough to support the 1911 weight, even with a alloy frame and 4 inch barrel. Wish it would have come with a tie down strap for the mag. side. But easy enough to make one up I guess.

      yep. the cheap plastic snaps were a disappointment. I won't be getting any more of Galco stuff. quality talks. you can buy Galco tie downs too. they're spendy though. I just bought a brand-new Galco holster, and the setscrews are plastic and do not come apart there's a large in and small in I'm going to trying to get them to work.
    I have at least 10 inches of leather strap left over I guess I will have to trim it?
    I was able to get the plastic plugs installed on the straps. I tried a screwdriver at first, but what works up the best is a pair of pliers to snap it in. If they came apart and screwed together, it would be easier, but not impossible.

    I am so glad I went Bespoke over Galco. I really really liked the old Galco stuff, but I am not liking the new shoulder holster stuff as much, now. I have spent over 140 hours in a shoulder holster, and I am not sure if that's possible with a new Galco. My custom made rig cost almost 3x more, than Galco, but when it needs repair, those repairs are 100% FREE! That level of service made me buy a second shoulder holster, from the same shop, for the same gun, so I'd have a spare. When my holster needed repairs again, I got new one, for free. The guilt kicks in now, and I decided, to buy another $580 shoulder holster for a Hi Power, and carry my Hi Power again. They let me trade in my spare!! How cool! Now I buy two more holsters, and get a discount. I went to this shop to have an old Galco repaired, because I just did not like the new Galco shoulder holsters, at all. They were fixing Galco shoulder holsters for me quite often. They finally told me, "We can keep fixing the Galcos, again, or we can make you the last holster you will ever need". They made good on it too. "Those holsters have been repaired 4x or 5x for free, and eventually a couple were replaced, for free." You do get what you pay for, except with Galco's shoulder rigs, I'm just not so sure anymore. I can't help getting soaked in rain, or sweat, or breaking that plastic when it's -30 out.

      finally the first honest commentor, it seems all the others work for galco. the galcos are the cheapest made and now are some of the most expensive plus they charge double for shipping, there are many good leather shops making holsters, andrews leather, black hills leather, weapons education, all make much better holsters than galco for the same money, look around don't be fooled by advertising. galcos leather is thinner the straps are much narrower than all the aforementioned shops. you most always get what you pay for, fact of life

    • @Satchmoeddie
      @Satchmoeddie Před 6 lety +4

      Simple: Don't buy a Galco. Buy a bespoke holster, and have it tailor made. You could also go to a tack shop and have some longer tie downs made, and probably for less money than Galco charges. Custom made, might seem like a huge investment, but older well established shops will repair that holsters, and, well, I've had mine repaired 4x or 5x and replaced (for free) more than once. I did buy a spare holster to use while the old one was being repaired. The shop gave me a free holster after the next needed repair, and allowed me to trade my spare one in for one that fit another gun. I don't see any corporate off the shelf mass production company like Galco, doing that for anyone. I have bought from Galco, but not their shoulder holsters, lately. Overpriced JUNK! Those have become "costume holsters" in the past 15 or 20 years. As a matter of fact in my utter disgust of new Galco shoulder holsters, I was having an old one repaired, and that's how I got into bespoke (custom fit) shoulder holsters. Galco's quality had slipped so badly, so I wanted my old Galco holsters repaired. The shop told me, "We can keep fixing these old Galcos or, we will make you the last holster you will ever need, and it will be made to fit you, and your gun.", and they did. I live in a shoulder holster. I have put 200,000 miles a year on one holster.

      Vertical Holster system revolver
      (for revolvers)
      Or
      Vertical Holster system
      Autos
      (for pistols)
      And if you mean with "minimal" shoulder holster, without the ammo pockets.
      Just buy an additional
      SST OFF SIDE TIE DOWN for your holster.
      (Basically just a triangular shaped piece of leather that can replace your Ammunition pouches if you don't want to use them and connects to the rest of the holster)
      If you don't like that, then try it on Blackhills leather. c o m
      They have several vertical ones. And if you still haven't found a fitting one for you...
      well then try to order one from across the pond. I still have my shoulder holster that i once bought in Germany.
      It's from the Austrian company "Sickinger GmbH in Austria, they makes "simple" shoulder holsters.
      Simple like just for the gun, without the additional ammo pouches.
      But you have to order them somewhere in Europe in some online shop or direct with the company and get them send to the US.
      They also make very very good quality holsters. The question is just, will the additional tax and customs fee make it more expensive than buying one in the US. 🤔
      I hope that info helped 😅

    I am aghast that Galco sells a Miami Vice type of shoulder holster where the pistol is aligned horizontally behind the wearer. That violates one of Jeff Cooper's (and Gunsite's) cardinal rules: "Never let the muzzle cover anything which you are not willing to destroy." I would not want to be the person standing behind somebody carrying a pistol in the horizontal position whose muzzle is directed at me. I read of one off-duty cop at a party. A woman friend came up behind him to give him a hug. His pistol, which I assume was a 1911-style semiauto with a hair trigger and hair safety, discharged, killing her. With concealed carry growing by leaps and bounds, we law-abiding citizens need to assure that the general public is safe. The Miami Vice type of shoulder holster is not safe. I personally have a Galco vertical shoulder holster. The muzzle is pointed towards the ground.

    • @BigTex65
      @BigTex65 Před 5 lety +5

    • @petec9180
      @petec9180 Před 4 lety +7

      For anyone reading fredbyte1's reply, he knows little of Jeff Cooper's rules. Yes there is a rule that states that one should never allow the muzzle to cover anything you do not wish to destroy. But these are rules of safe gun HANDLING, not holster wearing. When a pistol is in a holster, especially one such as the Miami Classic, the entire trigger and trigger guard is completely covered by the holster. There is no, I repeat, no way a pistol can go off the way fredbyte1 described. Something or someone has to make sure the trigger is depressed AND the safety switched for the type of handgun fredbyte1 describes to actually go off. Even if the person he describes had the safety off (an incredibly stupid way to carry this model), the trigger never could have been accessible and therefore, could not have gone off.
