    As a non European what amazes me is a Canadian and an Aussie speak the same language, yet their nature are so different. Aussies are tuned for a frontier lifestyle. Outgoing, indipendent, casual, brave and witty. The frontiersman attitude is strong in them. That's what make them unique and lovable.

      They're nothing alike, Bud. My best friend is from Australia and I've been to Canada. A true Aussie calls everyone either a Cunt or a Mate, Canadians don't talk like that. Plus, Canadians mix French words with their English, Aussies don't do that.

    • @tma78

      @@heavymetalhorseman2068 he means the only thing that is similar is that we speak english. A russian friend lost it when he sat with a group of us and we were all talking in slang. Told us that in his country they only have so many words for something, but in australia you just make words up and he cant stay up to date with what context they are being used for. I explained to him that even if he learnt our slang, if he went to a different group of australians they would use some common stuff, but would also have their own slang within their peer group. And that its more about learning about the words and how theyve been placed and then knowing what their meanings are to work out the slang. He said thats stupid though, i told him it was what we're use to growing up so i guess its just normal for us.

      As someone who’s Canadian I strongly disagree. Canadians and Australians have a lot in common. Historically and culturally. Both have a settler energy to them but one is hot as hell and one is cold as hell so activities will be different. We both love the outdoors. Australians I’d say are just more social than Canadians as we are unfortunately a very reserved people. The only time a Canadian gets Australian levels of social is when you slam a couple beers down his throat, then it’s game on. We get a long very well.

      @uchihahikaku1630 Před 6 lety +21

      No i don't mind.
      It's hard to say really because the variety of ethnic backgrounds they all descend from causes slight differences between them.
      So general behavioural patterns will be difficult to pinpoint.
      But overall Kiwi and Australian Women are fairly similar. Australian Women are more laid back where as Kiwi Women are a bit more serious.
      Kiwi Women are a bit more switched on (in my experience)
      Australian Women seem a bit more ditzy They're not stupid it's just that laid back attitude is like "meh i don't care to know and i'm happy where i am" kind of thing.
      I suppose you could look at it like they're both very similar, only difference is the Kiwi is slightly more formal than casual. Where as the Aussie is more casual than formal.
      I think that is a fair comparison to make. Hope that helps.

    i am australian so i will clarify everything there is to know and i'm happy to answer any questions, This'll be for my foreign friends in the comment section here, prepare to be entertained and maybe a little offended. firstly DBB you fuckin nailed it. wouldn't be a big deal to take a bus to a train to a bus to walk to a restaurant to leave via a taxi/cab uber now i suppose its weird but isnt unusual here from what i've seen. i've never had anybody misinterpret how ya goin? most of my friends are english and american not australian and they fully understand it, yet were closest in relation to english slang we dont use terms like ''takin the piss'' very much if at all and Vegemite only sucks since everyone else is fuckin using it wrong! it isnt nutella. thus why when you eat it like nutella it taste like a little jar of salt. about the sun, i turn into a fucking lobster so i need to cake it on, or better yet happily stay white because you will fuckin peel if you stay out to long.
    also i've never even seen snow in my entire life so you'll have to venture to the 2 mountains around that might have snow but other than that its a pretty beat up dehydrated place. women are usually adventurous, yes. VERY straight forward for the most part, if your fucking around with there time they'll piss off( meaning to leave) some are some arent outdoorsy and outgoing. most are too confident and thats a bad thing. almost all drink. football here isnt like football in England we call that soccer, nor is it like football in America which is called gridiron or american football, it's entirely different.
    just say you go for Essendon and you'll live, If you say you go for Collingwood you'll be shit canned if you go for the first team you can think of you'll probably be shitcanned (heckled insulted etc) also, unless there currently winning, every other team you'll basically be heckled. cricket is big but basically only older men watch it and pre teens.
    now some of our slang for those that are interested, dickhead thats an obvious one, prick basically means there an asshole, cunt means female genitals and also is an insult implying there yet again an asshole, bitch is basically calling somebody a wimp, might occasionally hear ''wanker'' which is basically calling somebody an asshole AGAIN. tosser, guess what that means? that there an asshole. ahh creative bunch we are, arent we? the ''shrimp on the barbie'' thing is not a real thing i've never seen anybody fuckin do that, occasionally when people do have BBQ's it'll be a steak, sausages, pork, beef, as much meat and beer and shit you can fit on it. Also if you ask for directions 99% of the time people will lend you a hand and help out. Everyone drives like a fucking idiot, so be prepared for everyone to break the rules and if they dont consider that luck and good timing. traffic is a real shitstorm. people also for the most part eat utter garbage here, lots of different food to choose from, most of it unhealthy garbage and people will shovel it in, alot of buskers in the city you might see Elmo playing the bagpipes or the cookie monster playing the electric guitar randomly at night near the Crown Casino which is the goto attatction in Melbourne ironically the most livable city in the entire world and we've had that title for nearly a decade. jobs arent exactly easy to get these days so moving here currently might not be super easy,
    you can milk enough out of a vacation here with a 2 week stay you wouldnt need more i'd imagine. prices for food are bullshit, if your american prepare to laugh at how expensive our supermarkets which you call malls are when it comes to basically everything. the night scene is pretty active and only wanes at about 2-3am. If your gay, oh my god theres plenty of fuckin places for you. they are the most direct people on the face of the planet, men and the women, gay australians are very very straight forward. If your straight be prepared to play mind games for a few weeks to months before anything happens.
    lots of brothels and whore houses here, strip clubs, and the drinking age is 18. the driving age is 18 and even 16 if i recall rightly in some places but dont quote me on that. the chief rule of thumb here is when the work week is done you basically whoever your with or find the goal is fun. most people dont take themselves too seriously. humor is a huge factor in just about everything relationships and commentating on events. smoking isnt that prevalent anymore. we have a decent vineyard and wine country, ahh Sydney is only for you if you have some real money to spend, otherwise visit Melbourne, or Queensland if beaches and theme parks are your thing but the nightlife is Melbourne. Also dont read our papers it's all garbage, all of it. most of the stuff on Tv is ads, if your watching a tv show good luck remembering what you were watching by the time the show comes back on you wont even know what the fuck you were watching, so go out and see a movie dont watch tv it's been flushed down the toilet as of late it's ''choc a block'' full of ads/commercials as my father would say. this about covers it.
