Spencer Lee is really a great man, great interview and talk with him. Best of luck for my idol since I'm doing wrestling now, I hope I could meet him some day, if I go where he lives. And No matter what happens, it;s not when you win or lose, it's how you win or lose. Never let anyone or anything stop in your life to do what you want.
I asked jordan Burroughs to take a picture with my twins at summer Nationals....he was so nice and did it....but i felt bad asking...bc he was there for his kid. I asked a couple ppl that go to his club if they thought he would mind, and they reassured me that he would be happy to....i still felt super weird.

Love Spencer’s comment about more wrestling always being better! Wish they let still let the d2 and d3 champs into the NCAA tournament like they’d done a while back, would be cool to see what they could do.
Hard for me to believe a guy like Joey Davis from NDC back in the day wouldn’t have had at least similar success in the tournament to an at large bid
Especially with NIL now. A D3 champ who is a sophomore for example may catch the eye of some coaches in the tournament and a transfer opportunity may present itself for a guy that didn’t get a lot of recruiting attention in high school.

Hey cayden i wrestle in Oklahoma and this is only my third year and my senior year, im going to a camp with Daton Fix there soon and one thing i want to pick up is technique and how to deal with nerves before a match, what do you do to deal with those nerves? Coming from your experience?
Nerves don’t stop just let ‘em happen
EVERY single wrestler has nerves. Whether it’s excitement, being nervous, or sheer fear. There are nerves. It’s natural. Sometimes nerves make you wrestle bad or they make you wrestle your best match.
But as Spencer said in the video it’s mental. It self talk and it’s also self taught. You have to trust in your team, coaching staff, family/support system and yourself. Trust in your training. You know yourself and your habits best. You know the level you’re at. Trust in yourself, be a little confident, and go out there and show them what you trained to do. It’s a game, have fun with it. As Cael Sanderson says. That’s how I got rid of my nerves.

I told my son at the open, no autographs, if you want a picture they have to be in street clothes. My son needs 3 matches to get his mind right, and i reminded him they are the same way. Theyre still kids loving this sport, let them get there mind right, watch and learn what they are doing to get ready, but let them get ready.

Glad he finally got the chance to speak! Believe me I was Al the dumbass on Fb just asking why. It was a cool point that fans and spectators sometimes think a guy is automatic, but it’s absolutely misconceiving with the performance of the athlete.

After rehabbing, Spencer should invest in doing functional patterns and possible diet change as well.
I believe that Functional Patterns is the best way to go as a combat athlete as you have to flow with unpredictable movements and it doesn’t take a toll on your body whilst keeping you strong. Dake was bitten by that injury bug until he changed his training and diet. I think weight lifting isn’t good for Spencer anymore and should move to more patterns and body weight based training
I love Spencer and hope the best for him but a change in training could help him be healthier and maybe even a change of scenery who knows? Maybe Sunkist kids?

Each weight class tournament 2 weeks after NCAA’s
I knew during the season he wasn’t himself,he was steam rolling everybody and the all of sudden he just started struggling.I knew something was wrong and I was right.He was an amazing wrestler and will miss him not being in the lineup.
He needs to work with Dake.
Imagine you beat some dude in pokemon and all of a sudden you get blast doubled.
Most wrestlers and parents are respectful of your time to warm up. The US Open is the greatest experience any young wrestling fan could possibly dream of. The opportunity that young wrestlers have to walk shoulder to shoulder with their idols is second to none, compete on the same mats, warm up on the same mats, it is awesome! With success comes more responsibility, it is what pays you to wrestle so please don't ruin that experience by wining about a few fans that don't have any common sense! Put your head phones on and block out the noise while you get your mind right! Love watching you wrestle Spencer!
