- While it may seem obvious to jump into either Turbo or Dual Turbos, today we test if it's actually worth using a supercharger in any case... starting with a meaty V8!

I already did a bunch of calculating.
Turbo is good for high revving, 7-9k RPMS, like the S2000 or Laferrari.
Screw is good for vehicles that have a sort of "high-low" rev. Like the mustang, Camaro, or around 5-7k RPMS.
Roots is good for VERY low revving cars, more specifically the classic muscle cars. Firebird, Cuda, Foxbody. A good 4-6k RPMS.
Centrifugal is also good for very high revving, but the boost is slightly lower. Acceleration is ever so slightly quicker than a Turbo, but not dual. Centrifugal supercharger is good for 7-9k as well. Any high revving vehicle is good for this for constant boost. and you can REALLY feel the boost when the car gets to the *sweet-spot rev range*
And Dual is just...well, typically the best. Great acceleration, and still keeps pulling past 200MPH. This is a more acceleration handy than topspeed setup.
So I hope this helps for the rest, i DID a lot of experimenting with different vehicle classes. Engine swapped JDM cars are OP, especially with V8 swaps regardless of the size. The have the most torque, and that's what counts.
Damn you really know your stuff. Great job on the research this is really helpful!
Man you are doing God's work
Hey if this game is gonna get technical? Then it's people like me who will go the extra mile for an extra edge.
Just recently tested the 3.9L V8 swapped RSX with a Dual setup.
And a centrifugal supercharged Laferrari....you'll never believe the results...
The RSX was ONE. SECOND. UNDER the Hypercar! Despite being FWD and has terrible traction upon acceleration. And cornering being awful (and slight crashing, Ahem). It was still extremely quick. So don't buy Hypercars, swap and play with low-end cars. Wouldn't recommend FWD though, as their engines are oddly more limited and less powerful. And they can't drift. The track I tested it on, was the track at the far east side of the map, day time race...I can't...remember the name. But it had a high cash pay, 69,300 if that rings any bells.
@@zavexheart6935 Around the long bridge or down near space center?
I don’t even watch his video. I come to get some top-notch “insiders information” like this here.😁
U guys make driving in straight lines look like rocket science
😂
Lol
Dual turbo means one big and one small turbocharger
Twin turbo means two identical turbos
No it doesn't lol. Dual turbo and twin turbo are the same thing. The 2JZ-GTE had sequential twin turbos, meaning there was both a small turbo and a big turbo.
James Cartier google it. Sequential is just saying they don’t spin at the exact same time
@@user-lb7pt6jb3o they are of different sizes so obviously they both don't spool at the same time.
Dual and twin turbos are same.
Twin and dual turbo are the sequential setup 1 big 1 small and Biturbo is two of the same size
We should have the option between Single, Sequential, and Twin Turbo; then Roots, Screw, and Centrifugal Supercharger; and then the option to Twin Charge
I FOUND A REASON FOR SUPERCHARGERS!
So I did actual legit testing much like Theo, but in this case for drift application and not racing.
I found that the super chargers, mainly the roots supercharger is the best at getting the tires to break traction while rolling.
My test comprised of my drift car ( 180sx with 1000hp 4.0L v8 ) and swapping out the aspiration parts, all were ultimate parts.
I would fit the desired part I wanted to test then did a pull from 90kph... I found that only the roots and the screw supercharger would INSTANTLY break traction and do a rolling burn out. The dual turbos only broke traction towards the top of the rev range ( as expected ) and the single turbo/centrifugal supercharger never broke traction.
So in the drift side of nfs heat, superchargers are better because the give you the INSTANT power to break traction and make initiating and transitioning drifts easier.
If you have read this far please like the comment so it can go to the top of the comments board and actually help people out 🤷🏼♂️❤️
Thanks for the videos @blackpanthaa
And just like in real life, there is a bit less lag in throttle response. So it makes throttle control more precise while drifting. Doesn't necessarily mean it makes drifting easier and/or better.
I have recognize the differences between SC and TC from NFS Most Wanted 2005. The supercharger has better throttle response but turbocharger has more speed gain during fast driving.
supercharger and drag tires. the best drift combo
You're Drift0r of the NFS community lol.
Normally the roots and screw are the best on this game for superchargers the centrifugal waste of time
That thing sounds disgusting with the resonance stuck all the way up
Edit: also superchargers are better if you want to do off-roading because of the low end power, and also if you have an engine with very little low end power.
Edit 2: WHY DID YOU NOT SHOW THE HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE NUMBERS?
Ikr
true dat
ClumsyGarage it’s horrible
I feel like it comes down to gearing and the used rpm range.
I 100% agree with you for the sound, just awful !
Adding that much metallic resonance will ruin the sound of any car in the game
Not the polestar. Take a listen to that at max metallic with the stock engine
Hey Theo how's Misty the kitten? Hope she's adjusting well
5:21 scared the shit out of my earphones were on 80 volume LMAO
Anyone else notice the damn light pole that went flying in the background at around 2:42?😂😂
The Corvette is fastest when using roots or screw supercharger
Which corvette?
Grand Sport ‘17
z06 and zr1 pretty much the same
Reece Fields an Exige S is faster than that, good try tho
IndependentAir I was saying that the corvette is a car that is faster when using a supercharger instead or a turbo. There are obviously much faster cars in the game
We need the old Blackbox Aspiration sounds and iconic STRAIGHT CUT GEAR whine as an option for these new nfs games
Well with some cars you install it with engine swap.
The m3 gtr v8 and I know there's different v8 with straight cut gears
Pretty sure a fully built covette grand sport has a straight cut gear sound

Bruh dual turbo refers to the sequential turbo setup...not the twin turbo setup
Wipers would be a nice touch 👍
Wha?
Wipers don't work in the rain, ruined it all for me now
Cars are gonna react differently to each super/turbo charger. Super chargers aren't so bad for drift. You're near constantly pumping the gas. So not so bad.
NFS Heat really needs a Drag Race event so thats why Theo & Matthew decided to make their own drag race
@9:15 whoa! Matt just ram over an SUV like he was a Rhino
"The twins are still taking it" ;) OH BBY
Hey Theo keep up the good videos
Hey if you guys want a good "drag strip" you should go to the train tunnel southwest of Frontera Hills its just before entering Port Murphy and its actually pretty long.
There's also a big square of tarmac to the right of the Radio station in Frontera Hills that you can also use.
Panthaa actually made a clean af car for once! 😂🤘🏻

Matty-C joined Night Runner Crew.
Superchargers are great for off-road events and low-speed time trials because you're in 2nd-4th gear most of the time. In normal tarmac races, I've only found a few instances wherein a single turbo is viable, like the last engine swap option for the 240Z. I find the gear ratios in that engine really bring out the best in a single turbo.
This is true.
you & mattyc should do a night run rep challenge to see who can gain the most rep in 1 night without wrecking or getting arrested - i feel like someones already suggested this idea 😅
*Single Turbo*
i love the superchargers in the game, you just have to find the right way to use them
The 1965 camero ss with its engine swap supercharged is good
10:09: Honey i'm home!
There are already cars that are supercharged and turbocharged at the same time. VW's 1.4 TSI engine has them both, it's called twincharged.
Ghost should make superchargers really good on carbureted engines.
Sim simma, who got the keys to ma bimma?
Your honestly in my opinion the best you tuber EVER!!!
IRL using a turbo that large on a V8 will win out in a straight line over a supercharger so Ghost did it right. You should try actually racing on tracks or tight circuits, etc and the larger turbo should almost be extra weight half the time since it won't have enough time to spool up to give that extra power.
This is correct and very accurate
I feel like nfs heat will be updated soon with new content and hopefully drag races will be added as they have been in previous nfs and if that’s the case then superchargers will not be pointless as supercharger works right off the line and turbo needs a certain amount of rpms before they kick in so you would supercharger for drag racing
The pipe resonance really makes me feel annoying, and it ruins most of the cars sound if im being honest, anyways good vid still lol
u beat heat in a stock ferrari
Hey Theo. The application you called (Quad Turbo) is actually called Twincharging. It’s already a thing. Lol
Twincharging is when you have turbo and a supercharger
It's not really testable by drag.
Supercharger is a cornering advantage.
Turbo is straight line advantage
It's the way it works realistically.
Superchargers instant torque is instant..
Turbos need to spin up and can lose their power while superchargers don't.
Turbo= straight line POWER
Super= consistent & controllable POWER
BlackPanthaa, you should do the haunted barn myth experiment
@Davin Gonzales I'm sending you the link
What's that?
Just tuned in after the stream
But what about instead of a drag race, do a technical race? o: And maaaybe upgrade the crank shaft? Idk much about cars, but from what I read this’ll be where superchargers beat turbos.
Supercharger > Big turbo at lower speeds
This is correct.
Yeyaa Boi!!
hi
Theo did you know that different tiers of turbo (stock to ultimate) have different sounds.
IRL doing drags especially to 200mph+ Turbo is just basically always better so in that sense I guess it is quite realistic 😂 I do love a good charger whine though, I really wish they were better, And also want the whine louder. It's like ear porn
where’s matthew CZcams channel? Can’t find it
The paanths man m'g
In the crew2 Theres a new weird rally lancer that's a evo...its like a basic lancer but its awd and sounds sick on the rev limiter
Twin and dual turbo are the sequential setup 1 big 1 small and Biturbo is two of the same size
**Turbo flutter intensifies**
Well they are rpm based, on the low redline rpm cars like a the mustang boss they work pretty well, but for the bmw a turbo setup would be better, also superchargers are really useful for off-roading because you can’t get high speeds at most events so a supercharger helps with the acceleration out of corners and so on, so Theo they ain’t bad, they just have their purpose
Finally! The E92 Gets Some Love.
8:53 if you want more torque, then the supercharger is for you!
I like supercharged for drift and off road. Also cars corner faster. So long tracks like turbos, superchargers like lots of turns. Low end torque and instant power.
i love this game
Please post more crew 2 I love those vids😋
Theo should test them by getting 4 of the same car for each type of turbo equip them with the same upgrades and each car gets a different type of turbo and they test them against eachother in different race types and then you will know wich is best for what
I want the new BMW M8 in this game😁
My name is Kyle I like your video I like Need for Speed heat I like it a lot It's my very very favorite game
The superchargers are a better fit for off-road bcz it gives you that massive boost in the lower gears and rpm
Hi theo the screw supercharger is good for the only formula one cars that have one gear only like regera that is 400+ stock .it will increase the acceleration from 8.4 to 8.6 out of 10.
Nice vid
If an Muscle car could get the Supercharger on it and then it were nice that you can put on an better intake and an extended (engine as an option)
On some cars single turbo and duel turbo are not good I have to go back and see which cars superchargers work on
Try out the Ford GT it really good
Hey Theo can you reduce the Pipe Resonance cause it sounds wierd but if you like it that way it's ok
*You got the oval if you wanna test these things.*
hey theoooo
Supercharging and turbocharging is called twin charging

The root super charger gives you the most power in a la ferrari
I think there is a drag strip on the bottom right corner of the map
I hope you can twin charge in the next game.
Fun fact, the stock polestar 1 is supercharged and turbocharged
i think it matters which engine the car has... try the same test with rotary engine car or and with a v10 v12 v6 i6 i4 :D
The thing I want back from payback is the Day n Night cycle. I personally don't like the fixed time cycle
Need for speed is not a representation of how boost works in real life
Use supercharger for drift? As no turbo lag or boost drop off
NFSU2 still canceled soz

The reason we're doing this today OH CUS THERE'S NOTHING LEFT TO DO IN THE GAME BUT BULLSHIT AROUND
❤️❤️❤️❤️ Best game created!
Also, polestar 1 has a twincharger, a turbo and a supercharger
Could you do a Ferrari F40 build
I was hoping y'all would catch on but obviously not so I'mma just say it. In a drag race like this superchargers are kinda pointless however this isnt a drag racing game. For anyone looking to build a race car that gets instant power out of corners on the tighter races in this game give them a shot. Straightuphippo has been going through all the parts in the game showing the different effects they have on a build so if you want some ACTUAL tips on this game instead of MoRE PoWer dEr, give his vids a shot
wish my cars didn’t disappear from my garage n i could still play this game
...wat
if this seemed to happen after updating to 1.5 they didn't disappear - you just need to place cars in your garage
M. B. no, i had 36 cars now i have 6 and they are the free ones they give you for the deluxe edition
I prefer supercharger for high revving cars to compensate the low end torque of the engine and use turbocharger for low revving cars for better high end torque.
Pretty sure to my surprise the R34 had better top speed and acceleration with one of superchargers. Forget which one but it did make it better
Well i guess we all know when you turn off your engine the rpm is still at 1k lmao
Theo please finish your let’s play on Underground 2! Thank you!
Greetings from France!
Speeeeeed and powaaaaaa
Wouldn’t a supercharger be better for drift because it’s constant boost
Sebz50r yes it would make it easier to break the tires loose
I like flying dembasee rather than creeping dembasee
They need to add the twin screw supercharger 🙌🏻
That’s what the screw supercharger in the game is. The devs just don’t know shit about cars.
We need a supercharger+turbocharger option
Turbo is for for sprint
Supers are for track races
Is what I got from this correct me if I'm wrong.
Can you actually put a check mark on the race’s that have the ! mark in theme
Theo: what did we learn today?
Everybody: absolutely nothing
