I feel sad every time I see “I won’t break” performance, I hate the fact that people wasted her dream and that she didn’t feel confortable. She was rejected once in 2017 with a beautiful and honest song, and then in 2018 the song didn’t look like her that much, backing vocalists singing over her and the mountain thing feels so disrespectful
Agreed. Those backup vocalists were terrible and put her performance down. Her song was very catchy, but she was accompanied by lambs in the live performance.
Agreed. She was shafted hard. The song was really good, in my opinion, and she deserved to preform it with the focus being on her.
I did not like this song and performance, but she really touched my heart in the interval video, looking out over the Atlantic...
Did you see her rehearsal videos? Unfortunately, the backing vocalists singing over her was sorely needed. Her voice is not strong enough for this song. Her vocals in the rehearsals were catastrophically bad. So they had the backing vocalists do all the leg work.
This was basically the songs that
A: Had big bum notes
B: Had atrocious staging
C: Were GREAT studio cuts that flopped live
D: Were controversial
Except Armenia 2017 which is there only because of Azeri fans

It’s a list of most disliked semi performances, wether or not they qualified. For example I might dislike the semi performance of Australia 2017 but I love his finale performance.

The studio version of I Won't Break is lowkey such a bop. I had no expectation for the live performance and she deserved better, but I still listen to it in a regular basis!

Thank you for the reaction) Yes, it's all about semi final performances from Eurovision youtube channel, another video is all about final performances. These songs was ranked by percentage of dislikes: (dislikes/(likes+dislikes))*100%. Yes, I know this is not a decisive indicator and I actually like the most of these songs, especially all the "trashy, WTF" ones, I'm such a person, I like diversity. I say "no" to any song very rarely, from all of this I hate maybe only Belgium 2012&2014 and Russia 2018 (it was all about politics in 2017-2018, they did it on purpose to make Ukraine guilty that it "didn't let a poor disabled girl perform", I live here and understand it). So, all that bunch of dislikes is from Russians themselves.
The same video about finals makes less sense just because people almost don't dislike final performances (unlike semi final performances and rehearsals, eurofans' community is much more toxic than usual people that watch it on TV), so from 50 to maybe 20 place has like 10-15% of dislikes, it's nothing. This video about semi finals is actually much more interesting than one about finals but it has gained much less views(

I'm still butt-hurt about Eye Cue's hot mess staging and dodgy vocals. I wore out the studio version leading up to the show...Someone needed to be fired after that dumpster fire.
It tried something different, but I never felt it would be anything, and wanted that country to send a better song (they did next year). And that opinion was formed from hearing the studio version. It meant that I went out to do the bins rather than watch the song when the otherwise awesome heat took place.

The ‘big 5’ don’t participate in the semi finals as they automatically qualify for the final because they are the main ESC financial contributors.

9:52 A little correction: It wasn't translated. I was written in English originally. They made an Albanian version later, I think. She said in one interview something like "It's in English because that's the language it was originally written in." Which, may I say, a lose-lose situation. :\ They made it at like some "How to write a generic Eurovision song" class in the UK, too. So I heard.

Curious to know what songs would have made the list if auto qualifiers were included. I'm thinking a couple of UK ones (anyone but Lucie probably), one or two of the bad German songs, and of course, Do it for your lover from Spain. That was the bum note to end all bum notes.

They basically compared the percentage of dislikes on all the semi final videos because not all songs have videos for the finale. Loved your reaction. Definitely some good songs here!
We lol'd at many of your reactions because we had many of the same ourselves.

2. "Chain of lights" was written by German songwriter Ralph Siegel, who also wrote "ein bisschen Frieden", Germanys first winning song
3. "say na na na" is the best song Eurovision has ever seen let's be honest. Idk but I really love this song it makes me smile whenever I hear it its just sooo good.😂

Please leave Claudia alone. I usually hate Malta in ESC, but "Breathlessly" really touched me and I really cannot understand why she's getting so much hate.
I think the video is made based on the like and dislike ratio on their official video which is why some of the more popular songs such as Iceland 2019 and Armenia 2017 made it on the list.
I disagree with Conchita. I think it was THE song. I also love how Conchita keeps on transforming as an artist as well

This video is looking for every single semifinal performance, it didn't matter if they did or didn't qualify, it's EVERY SINGLE SEMIFINAL PERFORMANCE by the ratio of likes they had

They were all semi-finals entries with the biggest percentage of dislikes (no matter if they passed or stayed in the semis), I guess.
P.S. when you're waiting the whole video for Russia to come and slay... When you cannot win the contest for the few years with all of your stage performances and professional vocalists, why not to send the worst entry ever and to reach the top from the other side.... 🙈🙈

The funny thing is that it was written by one of the best Eurovision composers of all time Ralph Siegel. The problem is that he and his style just aged... And aged badly... :(

I agree with you on a lot of things! I do not like the one entry that is here from my country, the Netherlands 2015. I thought this song was boring, and Trijntje has absolutely no charisma on stage whatsoever. I must say that I think Switzerland 2016 is probably the worst of all :-)

Couple of things to say regarding this list and your statements:
Most of them were cast at the exact moment when they were released so if a song sucked or you didnt liked it, it will definitely have a high dislike
Russia 2018 feels like they didnt even try and i know when Russia tries, so i will call BS on Russias delegation
The three most controversial winners have a high dislike ratio what a surprise, although on Austria 2014, great perfomance but it wasnt the best song (on my rankig its nr. 12).
Georgia has an interesting collection of songs and for i like them more than Azerbaijan cause they like to take risks (also Georgia 2014 my guilty pleasure, i liked it more than Russia and Iceland that year).
Most of my country hates Slavko more than Rambo, mostly becasue we expected that kind of perfomance from Rambo so it was a given, while Slvako competelly and utterly sucked (not to mention he is an egotistical jerk).
Macedonia 2018 SO disappointed with the staging. The song was so so promising and they ruined it
Yeah, these are just songs with highest percentage of dislikes, regardless of author's personal taste or their (lack of) success in the contest. As for *my personal taste*, here we go:
50. Catchy, but nonsensical.
49. Musically interesting, lyrically ''so bad it's good''.
48. Nice, but mediocre in delivery.
47. Actually in my top 3 of 2016. Love it!
46. Admittedly, I like it. Dated, but beautiful.
45. Weird. Okay...
44. Not bad, but too monotone.
43. Uff... not a bad song, per se. Given the right context (a villain in a Disney movie, for instance). This way, it was terrible.
42. A textbook ''so bad it's good'', much like many Sanmarinese songs.
41. Too repetitive for my taste.
40. I feel like it goes nowhere.
39. I like it. Kinda cute, but heavily out-cuted by Cyprus.
38. Not bad, but somewhat generic.
37. My runner-ups of 2019. Epic!
36. No! Creepy lyrics and too loud and repetitive music.
35. Awful staging, but very interesting song.
34. Hmm... I kinda feel it, but it's also a staging mess.

28. He tried to be sarcastic and to send trash. He did it... proving the point? But it's still bad.
27. Song has ''so bad they're good'' lyrics, but stale staging. The result - middle of the road.

25. Very cute and good. A deserving qualifier.
24. Admittedly dated, but I liked it. I like these West End type of songs. It's just that Omar wasn't the right performer for it. He was stoic and mature, while the song is about a (younger?) wide-eyed man who goes to see the world.
23. Exactly the opposite from 24. A good song, but Isaiah was way too young to deliver this convincingly. They should have switched songs.
22. I am on the edge with this one. It was far from my winner, but I appreciate the originality and her energy.

19. I secretly like this one in a guilty pleasure sort of way.
18. A good song, but not the best one from 2014.

Tulia almost made it...i think they lost by like two points? So yeah, i don't think it was that people didn't appreciate it, just that NOT QUITE ENOUGH people showed up for it. Although there is the theory that Belarus' (?) jury votes were tabulated wrong and Poland would've qualified had that been fixed

I think he ranked these songs based on the percentage of dislikes. So as not inherently bad songs got a lot dislikes because they were controversial, they got their way to the list. This is why Austria 2014 and Israel 2018 as Ukraine 2016 are on this list.

IMO in 2019 it should've been Estonia (he couldn't even at least properly sing live and the song sounded like a poor soundalike of songs in style of Avicii...like, WTH did it even qualify? bc of the guy's looks? XD) and Cyprus (Belarussian girl performed her uptempo way better... XD) to NQ and Poland and Hungary to qualify... (and from that 2nd semi: Lithuania and Romania to final and Denmark and maybe Malta OUT - Danish song was so sugary sweet that it was way too much...it'd fit better in some sweets advert than here XD)
I think there must be one sing about which people are, like, "why this even qualified?" and for 2019 this was San Marino XD Well...at least he managed to sing better than Madonna XD (not joking, there were some comments that even he managed to sound better than her in the final XD)
