I just wanted to say Jin is an actual angel who through his immature actions, telling dad jokes and painting himself as shallow , actually loosens up the atmosphere so other members can feel comfortable and less shy when confronted with strangers during filming etc. And afterwards he walks up to the stranger and APOLOGIZES for acting silly and explains he meant no disrespect, he just wanted everyone to feel comfortable...

Fun Fact : Yoongi hates when people make sounds when eating too, he's said it on a Vlive once when he was having dinner with ARMY.
Pinkkoyya and Soekjin my feels are my favorite at making comedy collections of the boys. Pinkkoyya also has a lot of Yoongi ones which you may really enjoy. Also Jin shares his food with everyone, actually all the boys do.
jin dad joke explanation time!
"what's it called when god gives birth to a child" "a newborn": newborn in korean is 갓난 (gatnan). the first character from that word, 갓 (gat) sounds a lot like the word "god" in english.
"what's it called when you make a cat out of water?" "mul rocket/cat" okay this is a little trickier. the answer to this pun in korean is "물로켓". (mulrokaet) the first syllable, 물, means water. the first two syllables together, 물로, means with water. the last syllable "켓" is pronounced like "kaet", which sounds like cat in english. so it's saying cat with water. it's a play on language. but also, rocket in korean is "로켓", which is the last two syllables of the answer "물로켓". i think that only has relevance because it's pronounced kinda like mul-rocket. if there's another meaning i missed someone let me know (i, someone who is not fluent in korean, did this one myself)
"what do you call a cow when it's shocked" "eummaezing" this one is much easier to explain. the cow sound in korean is "음매" (eummae). people in english say "amazing" when they are shocked. so another play on language to make "eummaezing", as it sounds similar to amazing.
A lot of Jin's dad jokes are a play on words in korean, so those who don't understand korean won't understand the true humor of it, but because we are ARMY we always smile and laugh at Jin's jokes no matter what x)

The dad jokes and puns are something u are never going to really get because they are usually a play on words of a language that you don't speak. Usually i just end up laughing at them anyway bc Jin's laugh is indeed contagious

"worldwide handsome" is basically his go-to ice-breaker. Truth is, bts can, even still, be awkward mfs in certain situations... They don't do variety shows in Korea anymore, just their Run!BTS, which is a variety-style show, except it's them, only them, and put out on the internet for free, right? BTS really admire Jin for things like, being able to rent a car by himself, making people comfortable around them in the entertainment world, wherever they go, things like that. He's just.. Big bro, for all of them. Even suga, who's domestic, put-together, comfortably adult and matured pretty young, he looks to Jin-hyung as a safe big bro. The Fandom also likes to joke that Jin is RM's 'emotional support hyung'. (with JK's being suga, V's being RM and Jimin's being jhope)

Jin shares his food a lot with the others. He feeds them and takes care of them, but when it comes to Jungkook, he tends to get irritated because Jungkook teases him all the time. But they still love each other. The oldest and the youngest

The worldwide handsome joke is kind of whatever to them at this point. They do get mad at Jin when he says “Do you know BTS?” to strangers when they are on vacation during Bon Voyage. They think it’s so embarrassing. Every time they travel the boys are like can you keep that phase to a minimum or just not say it at all!
But actually latest bon voyage, its suga asking stranger 'do you know BTS' lol.... He already get infected by jin's dad joke. 😂

n9 Well, Yoongi was always calm, it's just that he's more public about himself. If you pay attention to the little things he y’all about you discover waaaaay more about him than just waiting for him to straight up post about it or show it to us. Yoongi never truly changed besides being more open to other people, he's still very introvert but his bond with BTS and ARMYs made him more comfortable around us.

Yeah, in some asian cultures, it is more polite to eat with your mouth open and also to leave a little bit of food on your plate/bowl bc to clean it off means you want more and hahaha pls no more I was traumatized as a kid by that. I'm a strange mix of both your habit(pretty sure it's literally just a western thing we all do to chew with our mouths closed) and the Asian habits of leaving the smallest bits of food
Vivi What cultures are you referring to? I was born in Vietnam and I am Chinese. It’s not polite to open your mouth, but people have always been that way. I was never taught to eat with my mouth closed until I came to America because it was normal in our culture so I didn’t know the difference. Rich people were different though because they had to learn good manners. Also, in both Vietnamese and Chinese culture, it’s not nice to waste food and the cook wouldn’t be happy if I throw away food. That means I am saying her/his cooking is not good.

Lmao actually there was this one time that fans at the airport were repeatedly calling Jin handsome that he had to take shelter in his managers embrace, because he was so shy!!!
Also another time at an award show, he was being the mc with 2 other idols. While he was reading lines from a card, a fan in the audience calls out "You re handsome!!" And without missing a beat he says "I know." Then continues what he was saying asbif it was natural. The other 2 mcs were shocked at his shamelessness and laughed.
The dad jokes are puns in the korean language so you'd have to know korean to understand them....most of us dont get them either tho so it's okay dont feel pressured :))) also i think you should watch squishy's intro to the members series!! you get a more in depth understanding of each member and her editing is so funny!!

Jin doesn't call himself worldwide handsome all the time. He is actually very good at waiting for the right moment. The awkward moments come when people stare at him and wait for him to tell a joke. He is very funny and when allowed, suga and jin bounce off each other perfectly. Suga loves dad jokes, but his humour doesn't allow him to laugh at them. :) It's fun to watch him try so hard not to laugh sometimes :D
Actually, in some Asian cultures, eating with an open mouth is normal, because it signals that the food is tasty.
Also, “yah” is a korean expression. It’s an exclamation like “hey”

On the subject of being grossed out when people chew with their mouth open- I definitely think it’s a cultural thing. Being from the south as well, I couldn’t even begin to count the amount of times I’ve heard someone tell people to chew with their mouth closed (me included). It wasn’t until my friend explained to me before Chinese New Year that it is customary to make noise when eating to show appreciation of the food. I was very confused at first but after she explained it made a lot of sense. I think that’s the only reason I wasn’t shook when I noticed them doing the same thing, since similar with other cultures, it’s customary in Korean culture to make sounds/chew with mouth open when eating.
It's the same here in the Philippines. We will be scolded by our mom if we made sound while eating esp during the olden days (in most provinces) where talking or even humming is not allowed infront of the dining table. But everything is slowly changing this past years. 😊
