YYZ was based on the official code for Toronto's Pearson International Airport; Neil's opening pattern is YYZ in Morse Code, which is what they heard being transmitted in the cockpit as Alex, a licensed pilot, was flying them home for the weekend from Le Studio in Morin Heights, Quebec, where they were recording Moving Pictures, the album that YYZ and Tom Sawyer come from; and on subsequent tours, whenever they saw YYZ on their luggage tags, they'd know that they were heading home to their families.
