- Writing a memorable song hook can seem like an impossible task if you don't know how to, and that’s a lot of pressure to put on yourself.
What makes a hook memorable, well there are also plenty of ways to make something pretty forgettable quite memorable. In this video, I’m going to go over ways to make your hook work.
But there are a lot of other factors that are just as important as how your hook is set up and how it is framed. In fact, these things alone can make something average and turn it into a memorable hook.

Goodbye To You by Scandal has me singing along like nothing else
Two distinct riffs in Necessary Death by Insect Warfare. The du'du-dada riff at ~20 seconds and then from when it returns at ~30 seconds and transitions into the duh-chickachicka-du'nu-da'duh-chickachicka-du'nuh for the next 12 seconds before closing out 8 seconds later with a few repeats of the first riff I mentioned.
In 55 seconds they fly through a handful of really catchy riffs at such a pace you don't even notice they've become stuck in your head.
The Saddest Day by Converge has a lot of hooks for a song that doesn't really have a chorus. It's a journey, and more like a stage rally than laps around a circuit if that analogy makes sense.
