All those potholes are where some utility companie has dug up the road and not filled trench up right and not sealed the joints. Council should inspect work done like they used to. So public paying to fix potholes left by profit making company's
Company's do have to fix the pot holes. Half the time it takes so long is because the council have to find out who did it. Do agree with you on the fact that they should inspect after

I came here just to see if someone had actually said what you’ve said, typical Stoke On Trent City Council, why didn’t the truck follow the driver of the machine when he was picking up all the crap rather than the machine going backwards and forwards.
Leave it out mate, it's called professional team work. They got the job done safely on a busy narrow high street, also the video was edited down.

That's ignorant. You have an operator, a truck driver, foreman, and 2 laborers. Not everyone is utilized at the same time but all are critically needed at different points. I work for a highway department and do excavations. My two truck drivers are usually watching while 2 of us are in the hole working and my vactor operator is waiting until we need them. And when we need them we need them. Not later but at that moment. The truck drivers haul materials out and in when needed. I can't stand those comments.

A proper asphalt milling machine and a bobcat with a sweeper would have done a much nicer job, and much quicker and more effective. cant count how many times Ive had to come redo the work after excavator mounted mills haved messed everything up
Best of it is all of that damage was the result of a poorly reinstated trench done by some utility company or other! If only the councils would go back through their records and get the utility company to fix what they broke everyone would benefit!
Think you would be better off with a bobcat plane and brush, the jcb pothole to much messing about and leaves deep marks all over the place

Vey few councils have this machinery, the patches done by our council’s highways department require a bloke to get out of his van, put out a cone, put on his high vis jacket, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves, sweep the hole out, pour some cold tar in the hole and pat it down with the back of the spade like a child making sandcastles, reverse all the safety and PPE actions and drive off!
I timed him, it took longer to put on and remove all the PPE than it did to fill the hole!
Oh yea, this is not a 3rd world council, this is a UK council! 😡
