- Non Warhammer 40k Fan Reacts to How Space Marines Are Created Cinematic Cutscenes. So today we'll be taking a look at how the flagship character of Warhammer 40k is made. The Space Marines are 1 of the most recognizable characters in the franchise. And they've been genetically modified to destroy anything that gets in the way of the Imperium. Clad in ancient power armour and wielding the most potent weapons known to man, the Space Marines are terrifying foes and their devotion to the Emperor and the Imperium of Man is unyielding.

So mistakes were made and I was click baited. But rest assured that we'll be reacting to a better video. Be sure to LIKE this video. The faster we hit 1K LIKES the faster we get the next video out.
And that was the Horus Heresy

Aw man I was gonna say. I think a lore catch up would be good for you just to put the stuff you've learned together instead of scattered puzzle pieces.
I recommend Arbiter Ian, WesHammer, Leutin09 and some others if you want that.
For short stories I would go with Warrior Tier, Amber King, and some others. There are also plenty of lore tubers who stay consistent and up to date.
You were talking about how you want to play one of these, check out the game space marine, the second one is coming out soon
no link to the video?
So funny story. There IS a full CGI Warhammer 40k movie from 2010 called 'Ultramarines'. It's considered very mediocre, if not outright bad, even by the standards of 40k fans, but it DOES exist.
Damn. I'm reluctant but tempted to watch this lol

15:32 You're thinking of Angron and the World Eaters. That's actually Horus himself.
I really love how normal humans bow before the Space Marines. Because they are HIS ANGELS.
You should watch some Pariah nexus scenes. It's an official mini-series and quite high quality.
If you're interested in learning about the lore of the primarchs, I'd highly recommend the Amber King. He goes into a deep dive lore into the primarchs from when they were babies, all the way to the horus heresy. He also has other well known youtubers in the warhammer community voice the characters. I'd recommend starting with Konrad Curze, primarch of the Night Lords!
3:10 I was with you the whole way, nodding, listening in the background (your reactions and commentary are always hilarious), thinking, "Ah yes, Brother RBG has learned of the Primaris Sinew Coils implants," and then you had to drop that gem and I straight up choked on my tea, love it!! 🤣🤣💀
I don't know if Bricky said this in one of his videos... but in the 40K universe everything is highly ritualized. You can't even turn on a light without the sacred chants of some machine priests. And so is the armor attire of an Astartes warrior.
Most Astartes Chapters recruit their Aspirants from Death Worlds or similar Worlds. I think, the Imperial Fists recruit mostly from the Hive World Necromunda. If you are chosen, to be an Astartes Aspirant, you are young. Around 8 - 10 years old. If the Aspirants survive the tests, they get their new organs implanted over the years.
The first three phases are at the age of 10 - 14 and from there, it goes on until the Aspirant reaches the age of 15 - 16. And while the Organs are growing, the Aspirant is under constantly medical and chemical treatment. Some of the implants require Hypnotherapy, so the Aspirant learns, how to use them. The last part is, of course, the physical training.
To gather combat experience, they are included in the Chapters Scout Company and are leaded by a Veteran Sgt.
If they are not killed in combat, there is no evidence so far, that they can die from old age. For example: Dante, the Chapter Master of the Blood Angels, is considered the oldest Astartes alive. He leads the Chapter of the Blood Angels for over 1000 years so far
The guy with the lightning claws you thought was Fulgrim, is Horus.
He’s thinking of the Butchers nails and Angron, not Fulgrim. Fulgrim is the snake demon not the rage monster
@@xgnhawk7166 Yup I totally agree. All good though, we all had to start somewhere , and it isn't exactly a small universe to learn...
Seeing you go through all that in one sitting puts a smile on my face. Kudos to you and welcome to the grimdark universe.
That, "Guy" 15:28 is Horus and he's what ALOT of Warhammer 40k fans would call a Asshole. It looks like at that point of time had been hitting the Warp a little hard and strung out. But in all honesty I would suggest listening to the Horus Hersey series on audible. Start with the first book. I will say it's a very moving series and when GW does something right they will hit you in the feels harder than any primarch. Loved watching your video and have subbed best of luck.
I recommend watching The Siege of Vraks 1-6, The Siege of Vraks Kargori’s Offensive, The Siege of Vraks 7-12, and The Siege of Vraks Underground Warfare by Janovich (it’s 4 separate videos all covering the same topic in Warhammer sadly it’s not the entirety of the story but that’s what is posted so far I put them here in order so it goes 1-6, Kargori’s Offensive, 7-12, then Underground Warfare. This is a high recommendation)
Cadia, the planet broke before the guard did! 😭😭😭
8:24 Basically that is a primarch who just came back from being wounded(coma) and finds out about the state of humanity is in. He's speaking to the emperor(his genetical dad) about how higher ups is saying we're victorious(propaganda BS, but all he can see is how in deep shit they actually are because we're surrounded by enemies on all sides. When he says "victory" he's mocking it. He hates what humanity has become. He hates the lies and the blinding belief they have on the emperor thinking it'll save them. A child of the god-emperor said that so it holds lots of weight.
15:10 He doesn't have sons. He's actually one of the sons of the God-Emperor. So basically Horus(the guy you're talking about) was influenced by the Gods of Chaos and persuaded half(including himself) of the primarchs(god emperor's sons) to switch to Chaos and fight the emperor. Search up Horus Heresy. It'll better explain it and it's basically a big chunk of Warhammer 40k lore. Horus Heresy takes place in 30k.
30:45 Yes... and there aren't enough of them. Remember what Bricky taught you about the orks, orks have the numbers. They outnumber humanity as a whole probably ten to one.
thats old lore, new lore is 30 to 1 lmao they are just too damn busy killing each other!
Those ports you see in the space marines skin are the visible parts of the gene seed organ known as the black carapace. Its grown under the skin but those ports allow the space marines power armor to sync directly with their nervous system. Theyre not encumbered by their power armor. It acts as if its part of their body.
Theres a fully cgi movie right on youtube called helsreach. Richard Boylan took an abridged version of the audiobook of helsreach and made a 2 1/2hr movie. He now makes shows fir warhammer plus which are pretty damn good. Its a series called angels of death.
7:12 This is just the dressing of a space marine. He has two service studs, which means this guy has already been a space marine for at least 20 years.
The studs can represent 10, 50 or 100 years each, depending on the material therey're made from.
@@TheFifthHorseman_ Also the chapter, and he had two studs which is why I said at least 20 years.
You can tell how old a space marine is by how many studs and the color of the stud they have on their foreheads sliver is 50 years gold is a 100
That first Sororitas you saw looks like a seraphim superior (basically a squad leader). Seraphim are among the most elite of the sisters. Their jump packs are wing shaped so when fire off it looks like flame wings.
in Space Marine 1 Captain Titus...... in Space Marine 2 titus is back... but they Down Rank him.... u see the 4 metal thing on his head... each metal = Years of War Service
*a century for each stud* hence 400 years of service
“This is just a waste of resources everything is just going to shit”
There it is. You’ve summed up the entire plot of every Warhammer lore entry ever.
To 31:05, where liteaunant Mira said "there is not enough of us" (guardsman) - in universe, it is true there is plenty of them. But she was talking about specific battlefield (the planet Garia, whole game is played on) - and the battle there started by unexpected attack and clensing almost all of guardsmen on the planet. And since then, no other regiment did land, because next large enough concentration of guard relief forces is several weeks (or months) away. Ultramarines were only days away and because their superhuman nature, it is expected, they can make impact on the battlefield, even with low numbers.
to 34:00 - There is spacemarine 2 game comming (or newly inside) the stores... SM1 is several years old.
Luetin09 made a good video about how space marines are made. Its called Space Marine Creation/Recruitment
I would love to see you like give model reviews for factions youre interested in. Like Imperial Guard, Tyranids, Space Marines, etc. The smaller Kill Team board game highlights smaller sub factions that dont make whole armies.
Things like Arbites(Imperial Cops), Night Lords team, Kroot Farstalkers etc.
5:34 ... dont be silly of course not.... only the noise marines spit a free style before going out to fight. lol
Those are the Ultramarines, there's a saying about them. If you face them in combat you had better kill every last one, if not they will come back and wreck your shit
There are 2 Warhammer shows I can recommend.
Hammer and Bolter - its an anthology, each episode is a different separate story. So there's good variety in showing a lot of stuff.
Angels of Death - this one focuses on the Blood Angels, higher production value, great characters, I enjoyed it. At the very least, it looks great
Iron within... Iron without...
Look it up, you'll thank us later...
What you call "fiery crash" I call "dynamic entry"
@15:18 That's Horus himself. You're thinking of Angron.
Guess some clarification on 40K games n' stuff, GW license out the IP to just about everyone. This doesn't mean they help develop these games which is probably why 70% of 40K games are horrible. But the Dawn of War and Space Marine stuff was developed by THQ which made very solid. In fact, Dawn of War 1 and 2 where actually all-star games that deserve all the praise they got. Space Marine was also good. Not a AAA 10/10 game but you know what was a potential 10/10 game? Gears of War 3 which came out 15 days after Space Marine. So, you know what happened to that game and the studio went out of business about a year and a half later. Which sucks. They came back as THQ Nordic, but the IP was passed onto Sega who made Dawn Of War 3 which while imo is like a 6-7/10 game it didn't live up to Dawn of War 1 or 2 and is hated by the 40K community, so the series is probably dead now. Saber picked up the Space Marine series which was supposed to be a trilogy but because the studio went under that goal was never realized. Titus is now a primaris so I guess that plot line is in the back story planet but we'll see when Space Marine 2 drops. Also because of Space marine 2 we can place roughly where Titus is in the 40K canon and has far as I know his lore conflicts with Cato Sicarius as they are the captain of the same company at the same time. So Titus is kind of a off canon character.
Also the Ultramarine thing and why people don't like them, especially people like me that been into the lore a long time, part is that they are vanilla. Which is a little unfair from a lore pov but it is fair from an army pov. Second is there was this guy that wrote all the lore for the Ultramarines for a while and he made them stupidly overpowered. Like in one of the space marine codex's it describes how Marneus Calgar, the chapter master of the Ultramarines, who's thing is suppose to be fighting skill, leadership and military tactics, just walks up to an Eldar war god and....punches it. Then it died.......There are a lot of Ultramarine stories like that where they win because of blatant plot armor and not because of skill. Plus it leaves a bad taste in your mouth if you're not an Ultramarine fan and some guy for GW is constantly saying they are just better than every other space marine chapter out there. Like how do you think the White Scar fan feels when they say, "yeah they are good at fast attack, but the Ultramarines could do it better" which was in an actual book although it was narratively from the perspective from an Ultramarine. But all together it can be disheartening at times.
I am old enough to remember one of the first 40k games: Final Liberation. It was based on the old Epic Tabletop and while the cutscenes were alright, the game itself was mostly a buggy mess. A friend once had it, that some Ork Gretchins engaged a Warlord Titan in Melee and the Gretchins brought the Titan down. However they've accomplished that
@@Anthyrion Yeah but those FMV cut scenes where amazing. Supreme 40k cheese.
Space book says I can't do this, that's okay I can't read!
The Horus Heresy was the year 30,000, we're in the 42,000 at the moment, we're talking about 12 THOUSAND YEARS of nothing but WAR.
Also the Studs in Titus's head is the amount of service he has in the Ultramarines, 2 studs symbolising 200 years of service, Silver is 50 years and gold is 100 years respectively.
Emperor isn't alive because orks believe he is alive. Don't buy into the memes.
feel baited thinking it was the reaction to Luetin's video :D, still welcome to the vast lore.
15:49 There is a 40K show in the works with Henry Cavill that last i heard a contract for the rights of the 40K license have been signed and Henry Cavill will star but more importantly be producing it so hopefully we dont get anymore trash production like what happened to the latest Witcher Season. Henry Cavill will officialy be part of the production team in this show. Still abit worried where in the galaxy the show will take place becouse of the extreme time it takes to travel betwinn areas they are pretty mutch stuck in 1 region of space and when a show plays with long time jumps it tends to cause alot of problems.
they're coming out with a show on amazon prime with the guy who played Geralt from the Witcher, he's a big fan of WH40k
If you ever get enough time, I highly recommend reading some of the Warhammer 40K books. There is an extensive library going back decades, and although there has been a recent surge in standalone books and complete series, some of the older stories are very good as well.
Marines in the books are almost a totally different beast to the ones we are currently seeing in video games and animations. The stories in the books also depict the marines we have seen in the animations as the absolute pinnacle of ( enhanced ) physical perfection, martial training and indoctrination and battlefield experience ,numbering in the hundreds of years for most, with marines being deemed essentially immortal unless killed in combat.
The greatest difference with the space marines in books, that isn't shown in the games, is in their mental abilities and the speed of their reactions and movement. The books describe a marine as being able to mentally process a vast amount of information and formulate tactics and responses far faster than a human can, perceiving normal humans as fighting in slow motion in comparison to them. Their actual physical prowess is described as unnatural in the way that something so huge and powerful can move at such blinding speeds, a marine in combat is often seen as a blur of movement that a human eye cannot follow, dodging incoming fire and sprinting across terrain faster than a weapon can track them......leaving nearby humans ( especially those fighting them ) with a psychological trauma often called " trans-human shock " which is a form of mental collapse of being in proximity to such a lethal alpha predator.
You need to dig more into the lore of the space marine legions individually to understand their differences. Some are simple, some are complex but there is one for you rest assured. I also recommend some lore on how the Adepta Sororitas came to be and their different orders. Looking forward to seeing you continue your journey. This son of the wolf king is always happy to see new people entering into the setting, even if it is only lore 🐺👍
I thought you don't know about warhammer 40k but why can you distinguish a adepta sorita and a total number of imperial guardsmen
You killed me with the yeyeyeyehh😂
If you like movies try Hellsreach
You should watch helsreach, it’s a very very good warhammer animated series.
Have you seen the Horus Herey trailer? you need to see it in case you haven't.
Just remember F Erebus
Wait Spidey blinks??
the *SPACE MARINE 2011* game was made before 8th ed.; when _Gamesworkshop_ started their MCU-cycle of Warhammer: where the lore wasn't as strict, not every Ultramarine screamed their accomplishments/jerked off to the Codex Astartes; and the invincible/unkillable Orks were relegated to named characters
They're a bit dated but you should totally react to the various Dawn Of War cutscenes - they're fantastically voiced and they hold up very well by todays standards. Plus Dawn Of War is THE game most people think of when they think 40k, its an amazing RTS.
Yes please definitely do the LEUTIN video. A lot of people are saying the HELSREACH series, which is good but it doesn’t really explain anything, just drops you right into 40k life. The LEUTIN video ORKS is the perfect prep before HELSREACH, he lays out clearly what orks are all about, then goes into the actual backstory that sets up the war you see in Helsreach.
I must also say that your reaction videos have been great so far! Your after thoughts are some of the best I’ve ever heard from a brand new fan. Keep it up brother!
