- Walking through the first southbound Class 700 passenger service to run through the Thameslink 'core'. Coverage of journey from London St Pancras International to as far as City Thameslink.
14:54 service from St Pancras to Three Bridges. 30/06/16.
The driver apologises over the tannoy as a delay in the opening of the doors is experienced at Farringdon.
We also see one of the new seats being "christened" by someone's filthy footwear.
"Tannoy" is the name of a company that makes a variety of loudspeakers including hi-fi!
The tannoy name (rather like "Hoover" and vacuum cleaners) became associated with all station announcements because early systems speakers were made by"Tannoy". Tannoy therefore became a general term for speaker announcements at stations etc.
OMG, I love how that man covered his face with a wrapper!
i died in laughter 1:26

That tune on the tannoy sounds the same as what you would hear at a Dutch Railway Station in the Netherlands because when I went to Amsterdam last year, the tannoy sounds you hear there at each railway station in the Netherlands sound just like that when you hear an announcement been made. The tune sounds very nice.
I think it *is* the same tannoy sound. Perhaps Siemens makes the systems used at Dutch rail stations?
Great video on trains mate 😊👍
My guy covered his face just wanted to point it out lol 😅
1:25 look left
"700137" is the unit but the first Class 319's Ex -FCC.
At the start of the video watch out for a Thameslink Class 319 Northbound (ex-Thameslink livery) at Farringdon a Thameslink Class 387 (ex-Gatwick Express livery) and a Metropolitan line London Underground S8 stock and a Thameslink Class 319.
they've just refitted those door alarms on the class 365s and southeastern's 465/9
1:28 that guy 💀💀
what camera are you using?
Nikon DSLR.
The announcement is the same voice that the Picadilly line's announcement
Yes
Yes. Julie Berry
what will happen to the 319's? because they will be gone from thameslink in 3 years
Most will transfer to other operators. London Midland have already taken a few and Northern are taking a lot for their newly-electrified lines. Some will be scrapped though :(
Alasdair Clift Non will be scrapped.
good thameslink
Lol,King's Cross Thameslink in the vid
Do you have conductors on the trains
Conductors are rare down south.
Are ok I see
Havnt had guards since early 2000's
1.26 . Would you like my sandwich 😂
Future Motor sound
Dingy train interior .. oh well.
hopefully they spruce things up a bit, I agree, its a bit horrible.
Horrible, uncomfortable seats. Unacceptable for a modern train. No USBs or any charging points either. As well as no tables in standard class. Completely unacceptable for me as a local to these trains who has to suffer the commute on ironing boards onboard these trains.
They're designed for metro, from London Bridge to West Hampstead. Plus they were also designed around the amount of damage done to previous units by the public, people should look after what is provided 🤷♂️
Will these be replacing the class 365 on Great Northern?
Think so
Dunno yet but people are saying that they could possibly return back to southeastern.
+Hari Holmes thameslink 377 are returning back to southern
***** well southeastern are getting some 377 apparently (not sure if its confirmed). i'm still hoping that the 365 return back to southeastern.
+southeastern failways how can the 365's return back to southeastern? They only got overhead pantographs, so can they run on third rail or no??
seats too hard
what staion was that at 3:35 ?
That's the old King's Cross Thameslink station, now superceded by St Pancras International.
Oh.. Do you think it will be reopened
Unlikely. It was small, cramped and in a poor location.
That's kind of sad. What do you thinks gonna happen to the remains?
It's been like that for many years, so I expect nothing will happen. Along with the abandoned platforms at Barbican.
Ugly Ugly Ugly: Door Windows too small and frames too thick. Entire Windows and doors could have been externally glazed to give a more sleek appearance. It all looks very dated.
Why do they say "calling at" instead of "stopping at"?
What is a tannoy?
A tannoy is an announcement.
*eurouc* What is your nationality may I ask?
YUSSSSS 319S BEATS 700S ANY DAY
