    I really enjoyed this cocktail. Its one I would drink regularly. You would think the cream would make it to sweet, but it really works.

    nice! i personally add 7.5 ml. of lime juice, in order to break just a little bit the sweetness. tip: do not confuse this drink with Harry Yee's Blue Hawaii which is a total different cocktail!;)

    Could you use Coconut Rum in place of the cream of coconut?

    • @boozeontherocks
      @boozeontherocks  Před rokem +2

      That is a good question. If you only use Coconut RUm you would have the same texture and there will be less coconut flavour, it will also be les sweet. but you could experiment and let us know what you find :)

    question. Light rum...is this same as white rum?
    i have both Malibu and Bacardi. Which one would be better in this recipie?
    thanks

    • @boozeontherocks
      @boozeontherocks  Před rokem +1

      Great questions. Light rum is white rum, but you can make adjustments as desired. As for whether you should used coconut rum or white rum. The recipes call for white rum, but test out the coconut rum and let me know what you think. It might be to sweet or have to much coconut flavour but that does not mean you cannot adjust it to suit you.

    what is a common cocktail that is similar to blue Hawaii. Something that is slightly on the sour side with lemon, cranberry, lime etc. A common drink that a lot of bartenders know so it could be ordered I’m new to cocktails and so far a blue Hawaii is the main one I like. Bonus points if it looks as good as a Hawaii does. If you could name a few that fill this it would mean the world to me

    • @boozeontherocks
      @boozeontherocks  Před 2 lety +1

      That is a good question. IT might be the type of pineapple juice that you are using. If you let your pineapple juice sit, the pulp will settle and that can give you a lighter pineapple juice.

    Can I use both rum,vodka, and tequila in this? Would i need to change the recipe?

    • @boozeontherocks
      @boozeontherocks  Před 3 lety +1

      you could definitely change the base spirit. you might need to adjust the ratios bit. To get it to your preferences. You just have to remember that Vodka is a neutral spirit so it will get lost in the other flavors. Nut the Tequila will stand out a bit more depending on the type you choose. I would recommend a reposado.

    Would it be so much different taste without cream of coconut? Because i cant find where to buy it

    • @boozeontherocks
      @boozeontherocks  Před 2 lety

      I used coconut cream from the Asian isle of the grocery store. It would not be creamy. It would still taste really good. But you can make your own Cream of Coconut by following this recipe.
      CREAM OF COCONUT
      400 ml Coconut Milk
      12.5 oz/375 g Sugar
      1 Pinch of Salt
      Method.
      1. Add all ingredients to a sauce pan on the stove top.
      2. Warm on low heat while stirring until it reaches a semi translucent consistency.
      3. Refrigerate and enjoy.

    • @boozeontherocks
      @boozeontherocks  Před 3 lety +1

      You can add Vodka. Infarct the creator Harry would often swap Vodka and Rum depending on his customers preferences. This wiill create subtle changes in flavor. But it will still be awesome.
