The demons in demon slayer are basically like vampires, just to clear things up.
Normally, I wouldn’t like it when reactors turn their heads away when there’s gore stuff going on because that’s where most of the good animation goes to and you might miss it, but it’s funny seeing you two do it simultaneously 😂

I don't care what anybody will say, but demon slayer is and always will be my comfort anime/manga. they're just so good, and somehow comforting in a sad and happy way if that even make sense lol
“They talk to to themselves in the head” Inner dialogue is a common occurrence in Anime its what sets it apart from other animated media. You’ll find it in every anime. This is a great anime for beginners in my opinion and I know you will enjoy it for sure. The plot is very linear and easy to understand and the animation is by far one of if not the best quality you can find, studio Ufotable is goated 🐐🔥
You sure picked one hell of a starter anime. Just beware of spoilers as the anime is heading to it's final arcs.
Also, a little recommendation, at the end of every episode there's a little post credit scene that contains a fun fact about the world/characters of the show, so you might want to look for those.

@br0ken_107 yes I agree that demon slayer has the best animation ever, but that doesnt mean as the commented i responded to saying its THE best of all time.
Not to like shoot you down or anything but demon slayer is far from the best anime, it’s as mainstream as you can get and the plot is super basic even if it’s enjoyable. If you watch shows like Hunter x Hunter, attack on titan, Vinland Saga, etc. you’ll see that demon slayer gets completely outclassed in quality.
Naruto is one of the big three and I Highly recommend. There are so many good ones! Welcome to the world of anime and I hope you continue on this journey. I can’t wait to see your journey.

honestly if you're going to carry on watching this you shouldnt read the comments, or get a mod to filter them, there's always trolls that leave spoilers. there's even people that think they're being helpful, not realising it's a spoiler. for example you could say you hate a character and some dude will be like "he's one of my favourite characters, just wait" which itself is a spoiler

You guys are in for an emotional roller coaster, this anime is nothing less than legendary. Drama, loyalty, friendship, and the action animation is OFF the charts. Also I envy you cuz you just got introduced to Demon Slayer and you have alot of amazing episodes to watch, and by the way, it gets better each episode and season, enjoy.
One thing to know is that this anime has the best animations out of all anime currently!
Also another important thing WATCH OUT FOR SPOILERS please try your best because their will be people who are just rude and like to spoil everything, this is very common with anime
A great anime to start with - plenty of action, drama and slap-stick style comedy moments to keep it from being too dark.
Some shows have spoilers in their opening (OPs) but this one only gives you shots of characters you haven't met yet and hints of action rather than dropping plot twists - so reacting to them is fine, just be careful of too much music to avoid being hit by YT copyright bots.
Also some shows have 'next time' clips after the credits - but not this, after the credits of every episode will be a short light-hearted 'skit' giving you more info, so don't miss them as they can be very cute and funny.
I think you're going to find a lot to hide behind a pillow from going forward but also lots more comedic touches than this episode had so hopefully that'll not put you off... once it kicks in the action and animation is some of the best in anime so look forward to it and enjoy!
Anime tends to be be like that, they can make you like or hate a character easily all because of the flexibility of the medium, which is animation.
This anime started pretty intense. I also had the same reaction as you guys. The reveal of the death of the family really shocked me even tho it's pretty much predictable already.

demon slayer as a starting anime is a bad choice, because now the animation expectation will be very high for some good aimes which don't have good studios like this one. nevertheless, have fun watching.

This show sets very high expectations in terms of animation and storytelling, just a warning
I cant stop laughing honestly, the way Elin got grossed out at the blood is quite ironic since theres ALOT of blood and injury detail in this, especially as the seasons go on! And the fact they think nezuko is possesed is funny too 😭🙏
Demons are basically like vampires in Demon slayer. They burn in the sun and gain power by consuming human flesh. They cant posses people, but they have got abilities called "blood demon art" and the more powerful they are, the stronger their blood demon art is. The more you watch this the more youll understand more in depth things about all this ^^
I knew id love this anime from the first episode alone, if something can keep my attention AND make me cry from the story, i become a huge fan.

When you get into anime, you can never get out.
Anime is huge. It's anything animation that comes from Japan, and that encompasses every genre and theme from cozy slice of life shows that you can chill to after a hectic day at work, to horrors and thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat.
If you would like any suggestions on shows to watch, I have seen over 850 anime across all genres, so if there is any genre you're into normally (horror, mystery, romance etc...) I can find some picks for you to look at.

This is one of the top episode 1 anime in the anime world. Not all first episode of an anime started off like this. Since this is your first anime show, I think it will set your benchmark for first episode of anime quite high😂. Watch more anime then you will soon realize that anime universe are more vast, varied, diverse and different from the Hollywood movies. In general, anime world is a universe. While Hollywood movies are just a galaxy system. The genre itself was crazy enough😊

It may seem slow & cartoony for the first few episodes. I urge you not to drop this anime cuz of that. After you reach ep 15-16 you'll get to know its full potential and it just goes bonkers after that. One of the most entertaining tv show I have ever watched.

Wow they can't stop jumping to conclusions. Why is it so hard for everybody to just simply watch it and let the story sink in? It's the first episode, you don't even know the background, the characters, the storyline. Simply enjoy, you don't have to keep jumping to conclusions to show the viewers your brain is working. We get it.
