I cannot speak for the "farmhouse" aspect, but the interior is extremely Danish to an American eye. A typical American home is full of color, carpet, and various textures. When a space has clean/light pine floors, white walls and open concepts, we as Americans call it "Danish." My wife is a Dane and we live in Denmark for about a month every year (the rest of our time is in America) so I feel like I can bridge the cultural confusion with the term pretty well. :)

Let me just be the one Dane to say this. I live around a lot of farmhouses, and especially newer farmhouses. Though old traditional Danish farmhouses doesn't share this look, a lot of the newer ones does. Another thing to note is that most american farmhouses aren't so square, which a lot of danish houses are. This newer farmhouse look isn't much of a trend in places around Copenhagen, but is major around Jutland. A good example would be Stagning whisky or other farms in the region of Ringkøbing-Skjern.

I wish the swimming pool was a 25 yard lap pool. They have the space so why not make the pool a serious piece of exercise equipment. I'm not sure about the black roof. It would absorb a ton of heat in the summer but it would be helpful in the winter. I'm interested as to why they chose not to use skylights. The scratching on the chalkboard for me is the use of interior canned recessed lighting in the ceilings. This has got to go the way of acid washed jeans. The cans litter the ceiling and the quality of light is harsh. Builders love using them because they are easy to install and homeowners don't think through the negative ramifications.

@@CS-fb3ss if anything american homes look cheap because s lot of their building traditions are nordic and they tend to use wood or wooden framed carcasses instead of stone.

@@turquoisegreene9625 Ye, the guy first commenting said he thought they look cheap, not me. A lot of houses in the US look great, nice and big, but just like you said, they are a wooden frame carcass shot together with a nailgun in the course of no time. They aren't joined to last and using quality materials. It's just tons and tons of plywood made to look good. Hence we see, when a hurricane or a tropical storm flies by the houses are in bits in no time.

They are cheap. Everything is about money. Money above quality, that's the American way.

I LOVE hats, and I loved her looks throughout the entire video but I wish they would wear some more casual stuff to shoot this kind of video. I mean, it's their house, they could be wearing a simple t shirt, trousers, skirt, jogging pants, anything to make it look a little more "this is our house" and less "this is the house we're shooting a catalogue at"

To everyone saying, "This is not Danish!" let me explain. The interior is extremely Danish to an American eye. A typical American home is full of color, carpet, and various textures. American's live off of browns and beiges. When a space has clean/light pine floors, white walls and open concepts, we as Americans call it "Danish." My wife is a Dane and we live in Denmark for about a month every year (the rest of our time is in America) so I feel like I can bridge the cultural confusion with the term pretty well. :) When we say "Danish" we are not necessarily referring to small single story homes with red tile roofs and brick exteriors like 99% of Denmark. We are more so referring to the feeling of the interior.
