Painting my ukulele

This ukulele was the first one I bought and since it was quite cheap (and out of tune), I got another one and I now use the first one as an ornament.
A few days ago, I decided to customize it with acrylic paint.
As always, I made the different musics of this video :

Soprano ukulele
Baritone ukulele

And all these have been mixed with GarageBand

No I didn't, I painted directly on the ukulele and didn't use any varnish. But I don't play this ukulele, I only use it as a decoration, it was very cheap :)

I want to paint my Kalimba but people keep mentioning sanding wood before painting on it. I'm afraid it'll damage my Kalimba so I wanted to paint directly on it then follow it with a varnish. Do you think that would be okay? How is the paint on yours holding up?

I'm sorry, my experience won't be of any help, because I painted a ukulele I never use (it is very cheap and actually it's not even made of wood). I'm not sure what to recommend here... maybe you can paint a little tiny piece (just a dot or so) and see if the paint is holding up without sanding wood first ?

No, it has no effect on the sound. But I actually don't use this ukulele much, since it is quite cheap. I didn't try painting the one I really use, but I think it wouldn't change the sound :)

J'ai utilisé de la peinture acrylique (de différentes marques, Amsterdam, Lukas, ...), des stylos de la marque Posca et un stylo noir de la marque Faber-Castell.
