Dear Boss HQ employees, i just wanted to say lately you are working with the right musicians to promote your products. Cheers!
What happened to Johnny DeMarco? :-D
@@XlouietheflyX lol
XlouietheflyX that should be the original post for this mini thread lol so great
Boss has always had great players just cause there past players had a cheesy style don’t mean they ain’t good. Alex Hutchins was a great jazz fusion guy while demarco was a knowledgeable one and Robert marcello great neoclassical guitarist and josh munday did great job promoting, there stuff I think the new players Are great but there one dimensional, yeah they do great riffs but once get past that it’s like ehh and they all seem the same and yeah it also awesome to see boss fixing their shit sounding distortion
@@whydoesstevietonlylikefema2973 I'm so fed up with those fast little semi random licks put in riffs in modern metal... I'm old, man. XD where's the groove.
Good to see rabea massad and those other guys giving us a great demo of this pedal
I noticed you mentioned Rabea first, lol. He is a favorite of mine these days. Everything he plays sounds amazing.
@@onevoiceinc he sure is a serious talent on the axe. He is such a well rounded guitarist who has got a great understanding of improvisation and scale work cheers ☺☺
and we have to remembee that this pedal was in the fxloop return of great tube amps :)
*Massaad
I guess I'm old school. I was thinking the exact opposite. In my day we listened to bands that wrote songs instead of CZcams guitarists who just play endless riffs devoid of any context or emotion.
I love demo videos like this that show a lot of inspirational riff and licks. Definitely killer sound. Great job Boss!
I have a Metal Zone and people ask me how I get some sounds from it, and I tell them "learn how to command the demons" \m/
Only a portal to hell can release all the goodness!
Rein in the beast
Glad Captain 80's Shred White Sock Man was able to make an appearance.
Lol who is he? He rocking the highwaters like no business!
Joss Allen
@@alejandrocisneros7442 That's Joss Allen. He has his a channel called 'Guitar Bros Demos'.
The awesome Joss Allen
Man I thought he was Cuco the singer of Lo Que Siento. I was like, "shit he shreds!", and then realized glad to know that he's Lord Joss Allen
OMG they actually did it...I never thought it was possible...boss is now my favorite pedal company
I never thought the original metal zone was bad, but this pedal has a boutique quality to it! Keep the waza craft series pedals coming, boss!
Can't wait to get this pedal! No matter what people says I always loved metalzone!
It sounds so massive and crushing, I love it! I've always loved this pedal, idgaf what anyone says about it.
A friend of mine has recorded an entire album using BOSS effects and many webzine complimented him for The clear guitar sound. 🖤
link? channel name?
Andy James and John Browne demoing this makes me want it more 😍 used to literally avoid these in shops - thanks WAZA 😏
Yessss!! After 10 years of searching I finally have my Metallica, Iron Maiden and Slayer sound! Thank you so much!
John Browne is absolute monster when it comes to technical aspects. Andy James - my solo hero.
I wasn't reading the amps at first and when Rabea went up, I was like "damn, that sounds remarkably like a 5150!" and then I read it and just went "oh". It sounds pretty rad! Also super cool to see Rabea and John in the same demo.
This actually sounds really good
Getting John Browne is always a win. Great stuff here.
i legit love the sound, i will get one when i can
Joss Allen, Alex Hutchings and Andy James for the win - amazing.
After everybody have understood that it should be connected to the RETURN input of your amp, the Boss releases ver.2.0 😹😹😹
Should've seen this coming. Everyone suddenly making videos of the old one and most of them hinting about hoping a new version would come out. This wasn't made in under one month, it's been in the works for many months ago.
Well, the original manual clearly told you to put the pedal in front of the amp. So it's completely Boss' fault if everyone thought the Metal Zone was crap !
I put it in front of my amp and EQ properly..I think most people don't know how to EQ

Hi Boss people...great to see that you are working with Rabea....great guitarist...all the best
Johnny DeMarco would be having a heart attack demonstrating this thing. We need his demo now Boss!!!!!!!
The beast is back. Thank you Boss!
The legend is back!
Rabea is like a midas tone king; he has such a great taste when it comes to distorted sounds... not to mention his harmonically riffing capabilities
Owww yeaahh Rabea Masaad and of course, John Browne.
Do you know which guitar is playing John Browne ...just freakin awesome !!!
I got the answer zooming a lil bit = MAYONES Duvell Q
Yes it is Mayones Duvell, John endorsed by Mayones..
Do you know which tune he's playing at 4:12 ?
Impossible to hate Boss pedals. I'm a big fan.
Great! i did my own mod in my old Metalzone, but i have to try this new Waza with my setup.
Rabea is a great player btw.
Now waiting for:
HM-2w
SG-1w
FZ-2w
Would insta preorder HM-2w.

Rabea!!! Right on!!! You demonstrate pedals good brother.
Until today I don’t know why ppl diss the original MT. That pedal was the one I wanted back in my school day and couldn’t afford one. I could only rent it when jamming at the studio. After buying the MT-2W, It took me back to my younger days. I freaking love the MT2!!
This is killer!
Riffs from Monuments-guy on this video are totally awesome, so catchy and crisp
I really love the loose low end.
Everyone is complaining over here that it should have been the HM-2. While I agree; it really should have been the FZ-2.
Yes it should HM and FZ
now my age 25 start from 90' this pedal is awesome until now almost same in my age! great!!!
What?
Hey, I know that dude!!! What's up, Rabea??? Great sounding pedal!!!
20+ years ago it was my dreamest pedal, today... is my lifetime choice.
The best kept secret to me is the boss mega distortion. Frickin love that pedal!
iv always wondered about the mega, have to try out one of these days
@@arnyarny77 I say just buy one used on eBay. If you don't like it you'll definitely get your money back if you decide to sell it
It is a killer pedal. I agree it's highly underrated, like many boss pedals
Can't wait for Ola's demo
Ive had mine since 2002!
I always wanted to know how the Metal Zone sounds like through a Marshall Plexi. 2:38 is where it is. Nice.
I love and used BOSS since 1994 and still stick to them.
1:16 is Rabea using this riff in a song somewhere? I really like it.
Wow gotta try one out for max1um dj0nt
OK Boss Marketing Department, you got me. I'm gonna buy it) GJ.
Thank you Ola 🙏
Sounds great to me. Awesome.
Been playing metal since 78 and have used the original mt-2 since it came out. Have it boosted with a boss super overdrive pedal and it cant be beat on a tube or solid state amp.... The original gets a bad rap but if you know how to use it, it still the best!!
Really increadble sound
5:19 Awesome, Andy James
5:19 fuck yes andy james!!!! my hero!!
This is what happen when you pissed off and awaken the BOSS with that stupid Metal Zone meme.
wow! never though that I would came across my fellow Indon here
hahaa
they should pin this comment
Nope..metalzone still shit.. Trust me.. I'd prefer any behenger distortion pedal then metalzone
Syahid Jaafar awesome do the demo so we can all love it!
Awesome classic guitar efek upgrade..
John Browne monstro demais 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I had old one when it was made. This thing is waaay better sounding that first one.
2:14 John Browne :O
Man andy james is legend.
Andy James the shred monster in the end!!
Those dudes kick ass!! The first dude is killer on guitar!!! Just wowww 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
A review with this, G3 and precision drive will be interesting!
The madmen did it!
AWAKENING OF THE LEGEND!!!
That little pelican case for a footstool is the real Metal MVP.
Man, Alex Hutchings is a beast on guitar.
I find it funny how every single person I've seen demo this thing find the need to play metal mainly because it's the pedal's name.
But look at what bands like Placebo did with the original version of those pedals back in the 90s-mid 2000's. Their guitar tone was fucking incredible.
I want to see demos of styles like theirs that aren't just shredding and metal and as brutal as you can make it. There's more ways to use this pedal than just "shred mode" "breakdown mode" and "chug mode."
That said, I'm glad you guys dropped this new version of the pedal. Can't wait for mine to arrive.
I have the regular MT-2. With the Waza will I have to still play it in the effect loop when reverting to the standard mode? Or either mode?
I need to know the correct way to stack a Boss DS-2 Distortion pedal to the Boss ME-80. I'm not sure about which plug goes where. Could you possibly let me know how to do this? The distortion on the ME-80 is just not enough.
Boss getting back on top
I'm not sure I'd buy this pedal but I'm curious of the new voicing. Back in the day, the Metal Zone was killer.... then one day I decided that I didn't like the fact no matter what gear you paired with it, you knew for a fact that the player had a Metal Zone because it dominated their tone. A little over 20 years later I've decided dominating your tone is not always a bad quality in a pedal if it gets the sound you want. I can get decent tones from my original MT-2, but it's not the sounds I typically go after these days unless I'm playing mid to late 80's or early 90's hard rock/metal... even then, I've got other prefered gear, but it does the trick.
didnt expected that..nice ending
0:05 sounds fucking awesome 🤘

Would-be shredders take note: the good sounds you can get out of a Metal Zone are all with the Distortion control set * below 12 o'clock *. The Metal Zone's weakness has always been that it allows people to go to extremes that might sound "heavy" in the bedroom, but fail epically in the context of a band. Just because "it goes to 11" doesn't mean it sounds * best * at 11.
I'm laughing though, because unlike the other Waza Craft pedals that seek to recreate an old pedal in Standard Mode, even BOSS realises no one wants to hear the original MT-2, so they changed the sound of it even in Standard.
that would be why none of these demos sounded heavy...... also other non boss non trendy hipster demos of this pedal sound identical to the old metalzone when the eq bandwidth is switched to standard
Good call. Also, I have always had better success with these pedals in the fx loop used like a preamp. To me, it sounds immensely better.
Gemma Seymour, sure for the most part; however, the pedal is best used as a preamp. Now the pedal really shines... 🤘
Whatsup Kid, if you have an FX loop in your amp plug into it and hear it for yourself. And yes the Mt2 is a distortion pedal. But I assure you, it will change the color of the sound your getting vs plugging in before the pre. Hence why I made the comparison to a preamp. 🤘
I never had any complaints or problems with it playing live. I set it on about 8 and kick it in with a BOSS SD-1. Sounds great in the studio and live. Use it in the effects loop and it rocks. Then if you really want to do some special shit with it. Kick its ass and try to tame the beast with a compressor sustainer.
Fuck yeah.... I'm gonna stack 10 of these monsters! Leave you clowns in my tone wake..
But seriously, actually sounds great.
I got the MXR Fullbore Metal pedal a few months ago, now that I'm seeing this, I just might trade it in for this one, OR even keep both, but this one sounds wicked! METAAAAAAL!
Man the fullbore is far and away the worst pedal I've ever tried. You should definitely trade up for tgis one or even a modded mt2
Hello! What channel did you use when you used the Hughes&Kettner amp at the beginning of the video? 6L6 or EL34 valve?
So I've been looking at tube amps, but I may wait and snag one of these up just to save money. May look into the REVV G4 As well.
damn, I bought the mt-2 version... I wish I had known before
It seems the trick with the MT-2 is keep the DIST knob below 12 o'clock. I have had this pedal for a long time and it took me awhile to figure this out. Running the pedal with the DIST knob around 9 o'clock is about right for me. Any higher, and it's just too fizzy.
very moderately convinced. I will stay with my MXR Fullbore metal which has an integrated noise gate and spits twice more !!!
Hey BOSS.., what about the ML-2w....??
I'm eagerly waiting for that one.
Funny how this Waza-fied version works so well with the Katana.
What was rabea massad's tuning starting on 1:17?
i'd pay money to see Ariel Posen play one these. You guys had him in studio!
How about the wire to the amp, it is use send return or not, or jyst plug away to input?
Thank you
Terima kasih banyak, sangat bermanfaat, salam kemal, saya darai bandung jawa barat indonesia ❤❤❤

So I own the BOSS MT-2 and run it thru my effect loop. Are they using the Waza version the same way?
But, are they using the pedal as a pre-amp or as a pedal connected to the normal input of the amp. If the latter, how they make it sound good?
Does anyone know how to get a death metal sound of this pedal with the boss katana 50w amp
I do hope the pedal is being run through the amps effects loop!!
Andy James + metalzone 2 = METAL
Monster is back!
Mr Browne beast mode!!
I'm waiting for a DS-1w with a less harsh tone and more dynamic distortion at low settings.
