It's really touching given how Fitz has spent the entire season knowing everyone looks down on him now, treating him like an outcast and being unable to control what everyone thinks is wrong with him. He finds it extremely depressing and wants to save Skye from feeling the same thing.
That was such a beautiful FitzSimmons comforting scene. Why would they delete that? It was only a few seconds long, but so meaningful and lovely. I mean, it couldn't be for the time? The duration was like 20 seconds!
2:47 is used in edits and such so often that I sometimes forget it's deleted... Also they should've still put in the Fitz confiding in Skye scene, just in a place where it flowed better.
Fitz consoles Simmons is super interesting because it's almost exactly like the scene from Season 4 after they pull Fitz out of the Framework. beautiful mirroring there.
My favorites were the tender scene with Fitz consoling Simmons, Bobbi sympathizing with Skye, Simmons reconnecting with Skye, and Cal helping Jaiying deliver her baby.
Fact is, Fitzsimmons are clearly crazy about each other and all these deleted scenes accelerated the arc of them getting together way too much. The writers needed to slow the development into full blown romance and these scenes forced the pace. They want the build up to be much slower so they can put more hurdles in their way. I think we shippers of Geo can derive some comfort from the fact that we definitely know where this is heading. No longer a question of if, but when.
Why’d they cut the Skimmons scene? It shows how much Sky/ Daisy cares about Fitz and Jemma and how pissed she was at Ward for dropping Fitz and Jemma in the ocean

This is the problem with network television, and probably why AoS's ratings keep falling. The 40 minutes allotted to tell a story (per episode) is just too short. Move AoS to Netflix and the quality and popularity will increase no doubt. Most of these scenes could have been kept but had to be cut because they need room for commercial breaks. We only get 40 minutes per week, not 1 hour episodes.
