I love the combination effect of the rain drizzle and the neon lights of the city. The rain reflects the lights so beautifully and adds so more realisticness to the whole game.

He sounds more like Troy Baker to me. And Troy baker played Two Face and Tim Drake. Maybe it's a clue? Would be a pretty cool twist for Tim Drake to be Arkham knight.

At 2:48 I was looking forward to that gameplay with theses guys. I thought they were a combination of the assassin and the martial artist put together. But they're not, they're basically a re-skin of the previous assassins or ninja in the arhkam games.They added a few moves but they shouldn't make more than it really is. And to me the boss fights are disappointing and the challenge maps, but the game in general is still fun.
So-who wants to bet that yet again the hyped villains (Scarecrow, Arkham Knight) are another red herring for the Joker? Yes, I know he dead. This is a videogame about a cartoon about a comic, dammit. It is literally the easiest place to makeup some sort of resurection nonsense.
Rocksteady wouldn't do that. This whole games plot literally wouldn't be possible if the Joker was somehow still alive. Arkham Origins was developed by WB Montreal, blame them.

As far as actually being alive, though, it wouldn't make sense and it would kind of be a slap in the face to the fans, as well as back-tracking the whole emotional significance of the ending to City.

Maybe he took a variation of the Titan formula. -Hush: He's known for wanting to be Bruce Wayne, and he never got captured in AC. Maybe somewhere down the road, he learns the Bruce is Batman. -Damian Wayne: We have the implication that Bruce and Talia already did the horizontal happy-dance, and Damian was always rather brutal towards his enemies. -Anarky: In AO, he was a fanboy of Batman. In the comics, it has also been implied that he is the Joker's son. Maybe he finds out and wants revenge on Batman robbing him of the pleasure of killing the Joker for abandoning him.

A lot of stuff appeared in the trailers but didn't make it in the game, like Batman standing in front of Nightwing and Robin on a rooftop in the city, the actual meeting between the villians, the meeting between all the heroes in the clocktower, as well as Alfred in the Batcave looking at a Batsuit.
strickerx5 Your last sentence sums up how i feel about the game. I still like it though, but it just feels.........lacking in some way. Maybe because you don't get to be Bruce Wayne whenever you want and explore Wayne Manor or the batcave, and then change into a suit and drive back to Gotham like in the first cgi trailer for the game. That would have really separated this game from the previous ones i think, because at the moment i just feel like i'm playing 'Arkham City 2.0'. Arkham Knight is a textbook, safe, competent sequel to the previous one, nothing more. I still love the game, but i just can't shake this thought. The game reviewer Angry Joe said the same as well.

Seeing all the futuristic baddy vehicles, costumes, & weaponry plus the "robo-bat" suit & batmobile, makes me wonder... is this more of a "Batman: Beyond" game?? Also, keeping my fingers crossed that you fight at least a FEW foes w/out masks... the looks of fright on thugs' faces in the earlier Arkham games definitely helped enforce the "I'm BATMAN! Fear the night!" feeling.

jobro296 Yes, you do have a point there. However, its hard to tell. The lighting is coming from both sides, with one side being significantly stronger and angled different as well. So it could be just because of the lighting, or not. It probably is something more than just lighting though...
This made me excited for two reasons. One, it looks fucking amazing. Two, its doing what Origins failed at, getting its own unique feel. Origins was basically a copy of Arkham City with some differences in story and a few added gadgets. This game looks like it will do what a squeal is supposed to do, just like Arkham City did, build on gameplay and add to the story.
I really don't want to rain on everyone's Arkham parade but I'm going to. Remember guys no developer is exempt from releasing broken ass half working games now days. I'm looking forward to this game a lot as well and Rocksteady have had a high quality polish about them they still could be a problem dev and release a broken game.
If that's what's on your mind, then maybe you need not see any trailers let alone buy any games. This thing was delayed like hell and there's no previous history of there being bugs in the Rocksteady published games.

I would’ve thought Damian Wayne would make so much more sense as the Arkham Knight than who it actually was. After Talia was killed in Gotham, he’d want revenge from his father for not saving her, he’d want to inherit the mantle of the demon’s head from his grandfather and in turn gain limitless resources, it would explain why his costume resembles Batman’s yet why he uses a voice changer to hide the fact that he’s a teenager and why his plan was to get all the innocent civilians out of Gotham and then cover it all with fear toxin with only the bad guys still in Gotham makes more sense. It’s not even out of character either since Damian turns on Batman in the Injustice games.
meh... It's basically the leaked gameplay cut like a trailer. Nothing new here. I do love the graphics though and a MUCH better look at things. I'm not a fan of the combat animation (he moves slow, more like a boxer, with basic punches and uppercuts... booooring) but we only saw strikes while I always prefer to play with counters, so the animation is usually much bettter with those and I hope the same is true for this game. I'll give it a pass. Especially since we finally got to clearly see how they upgraded Talia's ninja to some sort of Combat Expert. So they will require multiple counters (just like the ninja) but with new animation. Now that I can get behind, even if I think that the Martial Artists from AO looked more interesting. The batmobile looks like it did before. I'm not going to start again on how uninteresting battle mode looks... Actually, I'm more content with the announcement of parts 2 and 3 than what we have seen here. Because if they are continuing this video where it left off, it will show us more than what we had seen in the leaked demo. Maybe finally we will get to see some predator and detective missions and there will be a lot less batmobile in there as well. Maybe then I will get excited for this game. So I have high hopes for the next two weeks but I wasn't blown away by anything I've seen.

I think it's because the action scenes portrayed in this video doesn't match the scenes where they're actually talking. When you play the game it'll make more sense. Batman doesn't scream at his enemies, which would probably fit the action in this video better.

I love how Batman ejects himself from his car *just* so he can kick someone in the face. You got the missile launcher, the machine gun, a couple cannons, the grapple... heck, you could just run the guy over, but no, Batman just *has* to go for the kick.

Arkham Knight is a textbook, safe, competent sequel to the previous one, nothing more. I still love the game, but i just can't shake this thought. The game reviewer Angry Joe said the same as well.
+Joe T It was seeing *THAT* that got me really excited to play this game. But after beating the entire game to 200%, I just realized how much false advertising this game has gotten. To me, it felt like Rocksteady did not put full effort into this game.
Time to start preparing myself by re-playing Arkham city, asylum and, origins :D

I actually played all 3 games and I really enjoyed origins, so I wouldn't mind replaying it again. the fact that rocksteady didn't make it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Seeing all the futuristic baddy vehicles, costumes, & weaponry plus the "robo-bat" suit & batmobile, makes me wonder... is this more of a "Batman: Beyond" game??
Also, keeping my fingers crossed that you fight at least a FEW foes w/out masks... the looks of fright on thugs' faces in the earlier Arkham games definitely helped enforce the "I'm BATMAN! Fear the night!" feeling.

Its just the lighting I think. One eye is lit up, and they've got some fantastic in game rendering to show off the different layers.
MeTheGreat Yeah, also thought about that, but the 'shadow' eye just seems to obscure, milky, almost as if it is blind or something

However, its hard to tell. The lighting is coming from both sides, with one side being significantly stronger and angled different as well. So it could be just because of the lighting, or not.
It probably is something more than just lighting though...

This made me excited for two reasons. One, it looks fucking amazing. Two, its doing what Origins failed at, getting its own unique feel. Origins was basically a copy of Arkham City with some differences in story and a few added gadgets. This game looks like it will do what a squeal is supposed to do, just like Arkham City did, build on gameplay and add to the story.
The combat from 2:48 isn't in the final game. What a let down.

the voice in arkham knight's ear at the beginning sounds like hugo strange. seriously - the way he says "ace chemicals" sounds SOOO much like him.

I really don't want to rain on everyone's Arkham parade but I'm going to. Remember guys no developer is exempt from releasing broken ass half working games now days. I'm looking forward to this game a lot as well and Rocksteady have had a high quality polish about them they still could be a problem dev and release a broken game.
If that's what's on your mind, then maybe you need not see any trailers let alone buy any games. This thing was delayed like hell and there's no previous history of there being bugs in the Rocksteady published games.
I think the only devs we can trust anymore with a good product is Naughty Dog, Rockstar, Valve and Rocksteady.

I'm glad you have more optimism than I do. Lately developers have conditioned me to the guilty until proven innocent mindset. I still am going to get this game and it still is my #1 most hyped game for next year but as of right now I've got my guard up.

I would’ve thought Damian Wayne would make so much more sense as the Arkham Knight than who it actually was. After Talia was killed in Gotham, he’d want revenge from his father for not saving her, he’d want to inherit the mantle of the demon’s head from his grandfather and in turn gain limitless resources, it would explain why his costume resembles Batman’s yet why he uses a voice changer to hide the fact that he’s a teenager and why his plan was to get all the innocent civilians out of Gotham and then cover it all with fear toxin with only the bad guys still in Gotham makes more sense. It’s not even out of character either since Damian turns on Batman in the Injustice games.

It's basically the leaked gameplay cut like a trailer. Nothing new here. I do love the graphics though and a MUCH better look at things.
I'm not a fan of the combat animation (he moves slow, more like a boxer, with basic punches and uppercuts... booooring) but we only saw strikes while I always prefer to play with counters, so the animation is usually much bettter with those and I hope the same is true for this game. I'll give it a pass. Especially since we finally got to clearly see how they upgraded Talia's ninja to some sort of Combat Expert. So they will require multiple counters (just like the ninja) but with new animation. Now that I can get behind, even if I think that the Martial Artists from AO looked more interesting.
The batmobile looks like it did before. I'm not going to start again on how uninteresting battle mode looks...
Actually, I'm more content with the announcement of parts 2 and 3 than what we have seen here. Because if they are continuing this video where it left off, it will show us more than what we had seen in the leaked demo. Maybe finally we will get to see some predator and detective missions and there will be a lot less batmobile in there as well. Maybe then I will get excited for this game.
So I have high hopes for the next two weeks but I wasn't blown away by anything I've seen.

I think it's because the action scenes portrayed in this video doesn't match the scenes where they're actually talking. When you play the game it'll make more sense. Batman doesn't scream at his enemies, which would probably fit the action in this video better.

Take your time Rocksteady give us another great masterpiece of a game. I am pretty sure this would be the greatest game of all time. I am pretty excited.

I love how Batman ejects himself from his car *just* so he can kick someone in the face.
You got the missile launcher, the machine gun, a couple cannons, the grapple... heck, you could just run the guy over, but no, Batman just *has* to go for the kick.
One thing I learned about people on the internet they hate everything completely everything is like they can live thier life without hating.
